Just keep in mind that there is an email stating that coupons must be signed and dated by the SL before it is accepted at any stores. Employees that fail to follow this will face actions. The use of the coupons are being tracked because of abuse.

Yea, FYI I was a casualty of that this weekend.

Ah, might stop using it then. I had been using the code only, as I never have been given any physical ones. Don't want to screw employees though.

Curious has anyone tried using this yet

Damn. My cashier signed and dated it too. :(

Just thought it would be a little less shady then showing a bar code on a phone or handing the associate a code on a post it.
That is actually what I used, but just showed them my phone. They didn't bat an eye, but again, not worth it to me if it is going to get these random workers pinged at work.

I noticed one store near me had a rubber stamp with the store number and address(probably for shipments) that they stamped on all the $5 coupons. I should get one, scan it in and make an array to print out on some card stock

Yeah I got denied on the coupon last night. Told them I had a coupon, they scanned it on my copy of ZombiU, jumped from 1.xx to 6.xx and they shut it down. Was worth a shot, I may just throw some of this old Wii U junk on craigslist or something.

I think I'm just going to start buying Xbox or PSN credit then at the very end say I have a coupon to scan. It worked Tuesday and yesterday when I bought a charging cable and Lego Dimensions. At least I can get something out of these crap games.

Can you do the trade in with a coupon and a purchase in the same transaction? I can't remember.
Yep when I bought Lego Dimensions I did it all in one transaction, I used a $5 off and $15 off coupons as well.

Why do you have so many crap/worthless games?
Well not that many, I had kept them for the Microsoft $5/$10 trade ins back in the day. Off the top of my head I have Dance Central 3, Kinect Star Wars, and Disney Infinity 2.0 for Wii U and XB1.

If I buy something with my trade-in credit that I got last night from trading in my Xbox and return that item to get the credit back on a regular GS gift card, can I then use the GS gift card to get a Visa gift card (since a visa gift card is as good as a best buy gift card)?  I'm pretty much trying to move GS credit to best buy - the other day when I asked about credit movers, somebody had mentioned boomeranging, but I'm not familiar with what that means.

Trade credit/gift cards can't be used on Visa, eBay, and Amazon GCs. POS won't allow it.

Damn, that sucks...thanks. Can anybody advise as to what the best way to move $155 in GS trade in credit to best buy is?
The sheets...

Or the trade forum....

If you don't desire to go to a store, trade it in the forums.

If you dont trust the forums, go to the sheets and hit the stores.

Aaaaaand at that, there may not be any boomerangs or ways to move credit without taking a loss at the moment. You really have to hop on promotions when they pop up.

I was able to get two Gamestop extra $5 in trade in credit cards. One was blank and the other one was filled out but no date. The one that was filled out was given to me by a manager. I asked about the Gwent decks but they were all out. I made scans of the card if you guys want it. It's of both sides.

Actually, I think the "official" way to get them is to make a purchase while not trading anything in. I could be wrong, but I feel like I saw someone say that, and it has held true for me.
Yep that's how you get one.

At one store I traded in a wii and getting one during that transaction was like pulling teeth but at another store I bought a 99 cent doorbz and the cashier put a card in the bag without even having to ask.

i just asked if they have any trade deals going on since i was planning on trading in some games. easy way to get a card.

Had good luck using the $5 screenshot Barcode off my phone all day today in different  4 locations .  I also have  spare $5 physical cards in my pocket just in case. So despite the employee email , you might still be able to use  the mentioned $5 deal.

This whole controversy reminds me of something in the mid 90s that happened at FunCoLand (One of Gamestop's precursors)

There was a worker who whenever someone would go in to buy a new copy, would gut the new copy and sell the customer just the game. When a customer asked what was going on, he'd say the boxes were just for display only.

He'd then take the cash, and pocket it. The boxes on the shelf would show the game was still in inventory, and a quick precursory glance made you think they were all in stock. He walked away with thousands or more before he was finally caught.

Coincidentally, second 2A of the FTC says that lying about stock is illegal

https://www.ftc.gov/about-ftc/what-we-do/enforcement-authority

A similar case happened in 2009 at Office Depot where they would lie about stock to push other products, much like how Gamestop is pushing used and other items. The FTC ruled the practice was illegal "It's illegal to make false claims about a product, such as 'It's out of stock' when it's not or that a clearance product has a certain markup."
