Humble Bundle Thread

I'm donating to the ACLU so, when someone decides my Peruvian-born wife doesn't look American enough and asks for her papers, I can leverage the twin pillars of the ACLU and my white-guy status to sue for a million thousand dollars and retire to play my backlog.
Can they come to my hometown? La migra are being even more assholish than usual.

It's a pretty great deal if you want and don't own most of those.  Unfortunately I own most of the ones I want aside from Nuclear Throne and the perpetual alpha/beta Overgrowth.  People trying to fish a copy of Overgrowth... not happening... first time this overpriced masterpiece has been bundled.

FYI, you can technically activate your Overgrowth Steam key and download the DLC-Free version... but you only get a single copy of the "Secret Preorder Forum" key which you'll need to download any mods or other additional content.

H: Overgrowth Rare Secret Preorder Forum Key

W: $28 Paypal Friends and Family

Money will go to AL4ME Charity

The bundle seems like a terrible deal as a bundle. Most of these things that aren't repeats (and most are) will end up in monthlies at least. The only real reason to get this is for soundtracks (Foxhack) or to give a middle finger to Trump, which appears to be the point of it.
Enough games I don't want I'm holding off.

I had a post deleted on SD for saying that it's not anti trump(so many were saying it was), he didn't blow up the MSF hospital(which is one of the charities). I got a PM from a mod with a link to the policy saying I violated it, so I read it, and no I didn't, so I asked why since I didn't violate the policies. His response was that I wrote "Obama" and "Trump" in the same post. Lol.

Well, I don't condone deleting folks' posts, but, er, how is this not anti-Trump?! Did you read the description?!?!

We chose these three organizations because of the inspiring work they do in providing humanitarian assistance to refugees and displaced people as well as in defense of justice, human rights, and civil rights:

Every day, MSF staff members who serve on the front lines of the global refugee crisis bear witness to the extreme hardships faced by refugees and internally displaced people. …"Refugees are mothers and fathers and children who want what we all want: a safe place to live their lives, free from war and persecution…" – DoctorsWithoutBorders.org

The confusion and chaos that resulted from the Administration’s hasty and harmful executive order should be a lesson to keep intact carefully developed procedures that have kept America safe. We are grateful that we can get back to work resettling refugees who have fled the terrors of war and violence, while also caring for those who remain trapped in conflict zones. ...The IRC remains committed to serving our refugee clients here in the U.S. and in more than 40 countries around the world. – Rescue.org

The ACLU was founded to ensure the promise of the Bill of Rights and to expand its reach to people historically denied its protections. In our first year, we fought the harassment and deportation of immigrants whose activism put them at odds with the authorities. ...And at times in our history when frightened civilians have been willing to give up some of their freedoms and rights in the name of national security, the ACLU has been the bulwark for liberty. – ACLU.org

Well, my post on SD was a joke. I figured it was mentioned to be anti trump. Those people need to watch Bill's 96 state of the union again.

IRC's description is the only one that specifically mentions the current joke of an administration and would be anti-idiots. The others not so much unless those same idiots are willing to admit that the orange idiot is anti-bill rights and therefore an organization fighting for people's rights under that bill would be anit-idiot.

If they gave money to groups like FIRE, I'd be all in. This? Pass.

Otherwise, the titles are solid and I don't have many of them on the PC. But I have several on the consoles and there are only a few games I PREFER on PC. The Witness hasn't caught me on the consoles and, while likely better on the PC, I haven't had much interest to play the copy I already have. I'd like that Day of the Tentacle but since I'm not board with the charities or the "cause", I don't see a point in spending the cash.

Anyone willing to split the cost of the Star Wars bundle? would do $7 each, and here is how I want to break it up:

You will get for $7:

KOTOR

KOTOR 2

Battlefront 2

Jedi Knight 2

Starfighter

Force Unleashed

Force Unleashed 2

Empire at War

Send me a pm if interested.

I will be keeping:

Rebel Assault 1 + 2

Rogue Squandron

Shadows of The Empire

X-wing Aliiance

X-wing vs Tie Fighter

Galactic Battlegrounds

Re: The Freedom Bundle, don't think I saw anyone mention this:

Probably something worth keeping in mind if you're on the fence. Already up near $1.8M after 10 hours.

Hmmm...is the witness, subnautica, stardew valley, overgrowth, nuclear throne, invisible inc, song of the deep, and hot tin roof worth giving the aclu 30 bucks? I would normally just wait for all this stuff to get rebundled but the cause is pushing me toward considering it.

Figures I come back for a minute and there's a nauseating amount of politics in the thread. :puke:

It looks like you could adjust the sliders to Doctor's without borders and/or IRC. The ACLU made more a few weekends ago than the entire year prior, so they are probably set anyway.

This. They have been raking in the donations hand over fist this month and last, they'll be fine. I think we all established in this thread in the past that MSF has done some unsavoury shit, so I guess that's leaves the charity I've never heard of.

I've been doing that for a while.
Same. Almost always give 100% to charity. Ironically, this is the first bundle in a long time where I wish I could give money to the devs, especially with the high purchase price. Damn greedy charities. :shame:

Well, I'm not giving because there aren't enough games that I don't own in the bundle to make it worth it for me. ACLU got plenty from me from Bandcamp.

The ACLU is receiving a lot of cash but they're also going to be far busier than during any time in recent history. More resources for staffing, lawyers, transportation, etc is fine by me.

No, we established that some CAGs were demonstrating some ignorance by spreading a smear against MSF. Another CAG stepped in a bit later to educate them. I really can't remember who was who, just that both roles were played by CAGs with avatars that were familiar.

Isn't that the group that DeVoss gives money to and one of it's main agendas is to protect the rapists with 'due process' at colleges across the country and the white christian men that are being discriminated against?

With that said people complain about some of the cases the ACLU take...

I'm still on the fence on this bundle I gave money to the ACLU a few weeks ago, I only want 3 or 4 of the games.

Instead of describing them based on what you think you know read what they write about themselves on their own web page. It won't take more than a sentence or two of the carefully coded language to perfectly inform you on what you are talking about.

Well, yes. . .

https://www.thefire.org/idaho-passes-law-protecting-religious-pluralism-on-campus/

Based on reading this, I'd say it fits in with the Christian paranoia agenda quite nicely--you know, atheists coming in to invade their FCA meetings and ruin it for everyone, because, let's face it, if there's one thing college kids are all about, it's subverting campus organizations from within in order to make a bold political statement, right? Right? RIGHT?

He's right though. I mean to really get at the root of what an org is about, actions speak louder than their own words:

http://www.politifact.com/pennsylvania/statements/2017/jan/19/bob-casey/trumps-education-pick-donated-philly-group-controv/

Everything happens, anything can happen. If you like a group, support them, if not, don't. If you get attention speaking out against powerful groups, avoid small aircraft, hot tubs, weight lifting, etc.

Otherwise let's just play games. No one is going to change anyone else's mind about this stuff. People today get too entrenched in their own perception of reality for that to happen anymore, people will believe what they want to, no matter the truth. That's why we need to

I just found it odd that I personally never heard of FIRE until a few weeks ago during the DeVos confirmation hearings and now I see their name pop up every time the ACLU is mentioned.

/fades away to play more SteamWorld Heist

I'm a bad hombre fox type thing person because I gave all the money to the ACLU because they're fighting directly for my rights as a foreign citizen and for my non-straight friends.

:(

Well, part of the reason that America has some of its current problems is that "truth" has become subjective and that's not something that we should just ignore.

I stand by my recommendation. Their own words speak quite loudly indeed. Their words in that article are consistent with the words on their web site.
While I won't disagree, I think the Politifact article really drives home precisely what these guys are up to. You can read that in 5 minutes and see what the organization is about but the language on its own site is indeed carefully coded, which means that it may take a great deal longer to discern its true objectives (unless I'm just a lot dumber than you, which is also a possibility).

Unaware that fighting for free speech and due process made a group a bad guy. Intriguing. And your casual racism (oh, I know, it's "different" for you) is also duly noted.

HOLY CRAP PARTITION MASTER PRO AND DAEMON TOOLS

Also, PCMark, 3DMark and VRMark are a +1 to Steam.

It's not so much needing to decode what they are saying as recognizing just how much that they aren't saying when they say something. To use your own words, it's immediately clear that one will need to make an effort to discern its true objectives.

On the other hand some make it really easy to tell.

Wow waves of liberals have come to CAG humble bundle thread to bitch instead of out in the streets protesting and running for office themselves. I'll be on my way.

Woe is me, why isn't there an option to select the Heritage Foundation or Trumpcat's Russian bank account as my charity of choice?

+1

Definitely not a meh bundle when you can get easeus partition for 1$, hands down the best partitioning/disk management software around
Does it allow cloning? And copying a larger drive to a smaller drive? I was trying to move an OS from a larger HD to a smaller SSD and couldn't find a program to do it. Some claimed to do it, but wouldn't work. Not sure if it was because I was using the free version or what. Even the programs that came with the drives I bought recently wouldn't do it. Had to end up doing fresh install.

This is what I love the most about alt-right nuts.

One second its:

THE WORLD IS TOO PC AND COLLEGE STUDENTS ARE TOO CODDLED! EVERYONE IS TOO SENSITIVE!

And the next its:

"you said white, you are a reverse racist"
