Bioware Edmonton has been working on a new IP since at least late 2014. They have been tight-lipped about it outside of saying it would be in a big imaginative world and narrative driven. They went on a hiring spree at one point and some of the job descriptions made it sound like it was multi-platform and probably an RPG and last March the creative director commented that it was in a playable state and looked stunning. So... that's about it.

Damn, I wish Motoki was around to talk to.  I wrote a positive review for Darkest Dungeon and, last night when I posted it, was curious why the game says "Very Positive" but only shows negative reviews.  Apparently there's some RPG Codex hate cult or something that bombs any good reviews and elevates any negative reviews.  I don't really care, I mainly post reviews for the benefit of people who have me in their Steam feed, but I figured Motoki would get a kick out of it.  Or at least go on a rant about the idiots there -- I remember he had some distinct opinions about that site.

Me too generally. I also don't like writing negative reviews unless its something that absolutely needs to be told to prospective buyers. The biggest problem I have with Steam reviews is how black and white they seemingly are. I did "Not Recommend" to Ryse because at the time I didnt think anyone should be roped into a $50 game that lasts 6 hours and that the gameplay was generic as fuck, but there were some legitimately awesome parts of the game that deserved to be played/seen. I got that from a Ruski pre-lock so I felt no loss, but Id have been pissed if I bought it MSRP.

"Bioware"
"looks stunning"

Pick one.

I'm trying to play up my random Steam library playlist using that website What Should I Play on Steam in an attempt to get my backlog trimmed plus to get a break from some other bigger games.

Giving random remark about Steam game Highborn it choose.

Played about an hour. Very basic King's Bounty type game. Graphics reminded me of Grotesque Tactics, which I found more charming and the battles more fun than this game. You basically go around and fight stuff and liberate buildings to get auto generating units, buffs and spells. It was alright with so-so characters. Almost finished 1 mission and then the game hard locked my system. I wasn't having the greatest time so I wont be coming back to it.

Dropped and not worth playing.

I will be doing more of these if people are interested.

That may convince me to grab the VR game next time a sale comes up if thats true

Also for the boardgamebros there is a ticket to ride sale with a complete-o-matic bundle at 79% off. Probably cheapest way to get any dlc's your missing so far
TTR Bro night! Not really that different than Sat night train on Fox's Mom

I know I would join that. I am still waiting for Gremlins Inc. to get bundled....it's a decent luck type game, but was also fun when I played it. I'm going to try to join some bro nights from now on (though not BF1 and R6 Siege since I don't own those and don't intend to buy them....though I do somewhat like BF games).

USA 1910 is essential IMHO for just playing the normal game. Easily one of my favorite board game expansions since it doesn't complicate things, but just adds more and makes the game less predictable.

yea 1910 is really the only essential dlc map IMHO

The others are interesting that Ive played. Switzerland is good for short games since its meant for just 2-3 people. India is interesting since its a vertical map. Europe is just like america pt2 but with tunnels like switzerland. Havent tried any of the others but I guess now i can, hopefully this will translate over to the android version too since it seemed to do that with previous dlc purchases

I wish my unit was auto-generating...

Also, I believe we much prefer these reviews to the hentai ones. I mean, unless there was a scat filter in Highborn's options... ;)

God, Steam Guard is fucking obnoxious. Can I just live, Valve? Can I maybe look at the site while at work and then go home and pick up my tablet and reasonably expect to be able to look at Steam without having my phone glued to my dick? With your katrillion dollars in .jpg sales and RPG Maker Greenlight fees, do you think maybe this is something you could accomplish?

what site was the deal, i have a complete version from a few years ago, need to see what im missing.
Just on Steam.

Bullet Soul is coming to Steam.  This was a Japan-exclusive shmup on Xbox 360 for a long time (finally showed up on the marketplace last year).  It was pretty good but on the easier side for a modern shmup, which actually makes it a good choice for someone wanting something that lets you get into the genre without hopping into the deep end right off the bat.  It isn't up to par with Cave's better efforts or games like Darius Burst but I still recommend it.

Assuming it is a good port of course.

There was an updated version of the game called Bullet Soul Infinite Burst which is better in most ways, it is possible this will come to Steam later as both versions came to the US on the 360 a couple months apart so they might do the same on Steam.   I would guess most of you with any interest would wait for bundle/sale anyway but thought I should throw that out there.

if i remember correctly, you need a days of wonder account to play these online if you plan on bro fisting with us.
I dont think thats going to be hard to accomplish.

EDIT: Tremor has the 1910 DLC (which is the only one that the majority of bros have) for 145 coins. I just grabbed it there rather than wait on an idiot to pick and choose a trade.

Gotta love DRM, eh? ;)

Also an FYI on the ttr dlc. They will transfer to the android version. I just tested on mine since I use the same DoW account on steam and android. Bought dlc, launched steam version, then I launched my android one and checked and all the new maps were now playable

It also looks like they stopped playing dumb and it also transfers to iOS. I had brought it up in their forums a couple years ago that the dlc transferred between the steam and android versions just fine, so why not iOS. To which i got some ridiculous response of no it doesnt and they have no idea what Im talking about, even though I just watched it happen and that their other game small world 2 had DLC transfer. No response.

Opened up the iOS ttr app today and after logging back into my DoW account all maps were unlocked

Skill customization and combat is super satisfying in ME. Nothing like pulling and throwing an enemy into the sky and teleporting to them and smashing them to nothingness.

It's gotten to the point where I only use the client, and that on a single machine.

So I have TTR and 1910 DLC, I should be set for bro night? Rest of the DLC would be $7.50 and seems like a lot.
My guess is we wouldn't play more than one or two full games. The DLCs are additional map boards you can play on. Some of them have slightly different rule variants.

So its not a joke that that is on the calendar again?

TTR is a great board game, and this digital version is pretty good.
Not at all. It looks like your usual bundle trash, but it the online MP functions well (points for that automatically) and it's a fun platformer. It really is like playing Super Meatboy in co-op. Thing gets harder/challenging as you go along and adds elements so it stays entertaining.

Thanks Syntax. I've been debating on using Steam Guard so I can get back to selling my cards at a decent rate, instead of letting them pile up in my inventory, but have been highly suspicious of how much of a pain in the ass it would be. SUSPICIONS AND ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED.

Darkest Dungeon is an extremely shallow game that got it's sales based on the graphics and narrator.  The core gameplay is tedious and uninteresting as is the character system, itemization, enemies, etc.  Apparently they've made efforts to revamp it but I can't be bothered to go back to the game.

They completely fixed the game.

holy crap mooby doesn't like a game?!?

Maybe but I doubt I could get into it. It's essentially a party rogue-like and I had a much more fun time with Dredmor given the large amount of skills, spells, items, etc. From my experience DD was all polish and flash but the core mechanics are something that would be hard to 'fix.'

Well, I feel a little more like a real computer nerd gamer geek after tonight.  I never OC'd a GFX card, but my reading over the weekend revealed my 7950 was a really good card for OCing so I gave it a try.  Followed a guide and used MSI Afterburner.  Using Furmark (and I know some people say Furmark is not good, but it's what the guide I was following recommended) as my guidelines and running the full 1080p test I jumped from avg 30 FPS and score of 1900 without OC to avg 50 FPS and score of 2900 after the OC.  Only concern was the temps.  Was hitting 82 on the test and in the high 70s while gaming, 45-46 idle.  Read up on possibly cleaning the fans and replacing the thermal paste and saw it wasn't terrible hard so I did that and replaced it with some Artic Silver.  Got my temps during Furmark down to 72 max and idle is now between 38-40 so I felt it was worth it even if it isn't super drastic.  I hope I made MysterD proud.

Running at 83 is not bad, but alas, replacing TIM like you stated may help a couple degrees. Get GELID Extreme Thermal Paste. Put it on (pea size) and spread it out in a thin layer with the supplied applicator.

yea i was about to say 82 isnt bad during a stress test and 70's while gaming while a bit high isnt bad, I usually strive to keep it 72 or below but some cards just run hotter as well. My friends titanX was a heat beast and would do 80's while gaming

Not too shabby for a nights work, basically a jump in to the next higher gpu

Yea my 1080 FE ran about 80-83 in most games. Though they run hot, hence why I bought a hybrid cooler. Now it's silent and maxes at 43 in games and stress tests
