"I'm a progressive who doesn't care if Trump is undoing any progressive gains from the last 20 years because GRRR RWARR HILLARY!!!"

Hey, if you say so

Anyway, internet dorks circle-jerking on a game forum about how a woman who was a US senator and Sec of State (and a presidential nominee) is a "failure" =

So "failure" maybe was the wrong word. There are a lot of other words that would probably be more applicable, starting with "dumbass" and "liar". Dumbocrats that defend this woman amuse me. She was criminally careless with top secret emails. She had to have debate questions fed to her so she wouldn't embarrass herself too badly. This is just the tip of the iceberg as to the person she is. Trump may fail spectacularly, but if he does, at least he tried something other than politics as usual.
Hilary was definitely careless with those emails. They could have fallen into Russian hands FOR FREE. Trump has taught us that we need to make sure we get something in exchange for leaking confidential information to other countries set to destroy us.

Sure, but unlike most here I do love some good console action on the side. In fact I just completed my free month of GameFly and knocked off a few games I wanted to try out, but not buy new or at all. I finished up NieR: Automata's three playthroughs (Great game), and tried For Honor and Ghost Recon Wildlands (I didn't really like either of those).

As for religion & politics? Yeah, I'm staying the fuck away from any of those discussions on a public forum of diverse opinion. I mean, really? I could better spend (or waste) my time playing more console games.

...but my FREE month of GameFly is now gone. Sad face.
I hope you at least got some free Swagbucks or Tremorcoins out of that free trial!

Oh, c'mon - Wildlands Open Beta felt like UbiSoft open-world game with optional online gameplay + MMO-type of missions (kill everything + collect stuff).

I think the problem is too many games are now doing the open-world UbiSoft collect-a-thon and kill everything format; even non-Ubi games.

Widllands' biggest problem for me from Open Beta is...it doesn't really do much new, despite ambitiously cobbling tons of different game types + styles together. It's good - but not great.

I hope you at least got some free Swagbucks or Tremorcoins out of that free trial!
Sadly no. I couldn't get the free month to work with Tremor. It required me to sign up for a month at $9 or something with a credit card to work. Maybe down the road when there's more games to try out I'll just bite the bullet and actually pay for a month. The best deal I saw was getting back 5,632 coins, so that's about $6.25 worth of coins (if 900 coins = $1).

Well, the PC variants of those games I mentioned are similar in gameplay beyond the control input. Although, when you can try something out for free why not, right? I played the Betas of both For Honor and Wildlands on PC and wanted to dig deeper into more content. GF seemed like an easy option, even if through a console.

I've been playing some ME:A and Titanfall 2 on PC to mix things up. I still have my trial month of Origin Access running for a few more weeks so I downloaded Unravel and Mirror's Edge Catalyst to try out. I haven't played much on Steam lately, but I still need to get to DOOM and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at some point. Too many games.
Doom 2016 is awesome on SP; and the MP is good and solid stuff (especially since FFA DM is back in).

Deus Ex: MD just needs...DLC to finish up the damn story + hanging plot-lines, since too much sets up a sequel we likely won't unfortunately see b/c of "meh" sales. DE: MD was really good, despite feeling incomplete and underwhelming at the end.

Except it is fun lol. And FissFiss agreed. Y'know, the two of us who actually have the retail version and have played it.

The beta was not indicative of what it does well espc once you get of the opening region.

Its not a great game and is not winning any awards (although the game world is laudable for its size and diversity), but its a competent, approach situations/missions how you want to, 3rd person shooter.

And I got it for free. There's no purchase to defend.

Wildlands might be one of those games that might be better off played w/ others.

Not that the AI was bad in Open Beta, it's just you don't have enough GR-style commanding over your AI. I think that is my biggest complaint for it, being a GR-branded title. I want GRAW type of commanding in this GR brand.

So, you might do better w/ real live players + commanding each other around - so you can coordinate stuff + tactics better.

If I see if cheap enough, I wouldn't hesitate to get it.

I thought the Open Beta was solid stuff.

I've played solo the entire time. It's pretty damn fun and I was worried it wouldnt be.

Playing with others adds the human error factor and obviously the friend factor. When we bro'd the open beta it was kinda bland, but Fox thought he was playing Just Cause. I would NOT want to play it with randoms tho. I stealth as much as possible and plan out literally everything with the drone and use stuff like sync shots and my sniper rifle as much as possible, but if you get a random who wants to run and gun, it would be a pain.

Super fun game with friends, and solo...though I only have like 4-5hrs solo and 20hrs COOP

That was sort of the problem -- it felt like every UbiSoft open world game but without any character that set the other franchises apart. No rampaging around on an elephant like in Far Cry or playing with security bollards to smash cars like in Watch Dogs or anything just "Go do these boring missions with these idiots you can't get rid of". They managed to make driving a bulldozer boring.

I played solo during WL Open Beta. Didn't try with others.

But, yeah - I do like the mix of shooting + stealth you can do here; probably also what I'm digging with Mafia 3. I do like GRWL with the drones and Sync Shot stuff helped make the game more GR-like, without having GRAW AI-commands. I still think the GRAW AI-commanding in GRWL could be the element WL needs to make it better + special.

Yeah, you couldn't take many hits in GRWL Open Beta - so, I'd expect others rushing; and/or your team without planning would be frustrating. Your thoughts makes LOTS of sense to me.

Wildlands is like a boring homogenization of five other games with more personality that I have played.  It's not terrible, it's just a derivation.

Can we start calling these soulless open-world games Ubisoft-likes yet?

I'm putting everyone in this thread on ignore so I can live in my safe echo chamber of mediocre deals on Sims 4 expansions.
Hey, Target has both Sims 3 and Sims 4 expansions for $19.99. Sound the deal klaxon!

Can we then move on to which Consoles we hate and why your local sports teams are a pile of shit?
Then maybe cap it off with why your religion, spirituality, belief structure or lack thereof makes you an awful person?
Um, Nintendo anything, the Saints suck, and I'm agnostic so everybody hates me. I win the internet.

You forgot the Mafia 3 deal on WinGameStore at 75% off that I posted yesterday.

EDIT:
Really Mafia 3 digging the game + story, despite console-like performance (25-30fps with 30fps cap on) here at 1440p.
Yep. I second that emotion. I'm actually seriously thinking about grabbing the Wingamestore deal, although I probably can't afford it right now.

Yeah, because burning your whole house down is obviously better than having to share your toys. I wish I could share your sentiments but we will all suffer the consequences of his poor decisions.

I said it before, politics should be a bannable topic in video game forums.
Eh, what else are we going to do when the deals are scarce? There's only so much cracking wise about people's moms you can do in one day.

Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey:

  • It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.
  • Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.
  • Better not take a dog on the space shuttle, because if he sticks his head out when you're coming home his face might burn up.
  • If you're a horse, and someone gets on you, and falls off, and then gets right back on you, I think you should buck him off right away.
  • If you're a young Mafia gangster out on your first date, I bet it's real embarrassing if someone tries to kill you.
  • The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face.
  • I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
  • If I had a mine shaft, I don't think I would just abandon it. There's got to be a better way.
  • If life deals you lemons, why not go kill someone with the lemons (maybe by shoving them down his throat).

and my all time favorite:

  • Anytime I see something screech across a room and latch onto someones neck, and the guy screams and tries to get it off, I have to laugh, because what is that thing.

I think my favorite was: “If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason"

I agree. I feel like having an aneurysm every time knowing how misinformed you lot are. Russia's been the go-to scapegoat for half a century, morans, c'mon. They were both terrible.

At least we get lots of Steam games with trading cards from Trump's victory. There's no way we'd get so many games about Hillary. Can picture it now: cover image is a picture of Hillary and a bottle of hot sauce doing the whip-nae-nae, saying "this game is about whatever you want it to be about." You buy it and install it, and it's just a reskinned version of Trump Simulator 2017. First mission is you approving the pipelines and supporting fracking. Only difference is that you still have the TPP and Rosa still makes your bed.

Bernie sanders is an old fart head and says you should try to work your way out of the anger stage of grief

Maybe in order to understand mankind we have to look at that word itself. MANKIND. Basically, it's made up of two separate words "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery and that's why so is mankind.  -JH

Hey guys, let's randomly bring politics into the thread again!
I only liked it because it made me snicker at the history repeating itself again...

My hometown teams are the Mavs, Rangers, Cowboys, and Stars. I only live in ATL.
How's traffic now? Did you just say fuck it and move into the office?

Honestly, if someone in this thread plays the game they buy I don't think there's any need to defend the purchase.

As for coding fun in the two weeks that followed it... I cannot say they did BUT it did improve quite a bit. Squad AI is better (though still not the best), vehicle physics improved, and opening the map helped also.

Its still not a game for everyone. Its a thinking man's 3PS in which you need to, at least, approach areas with enough "stealth" to mark the enemies in the area before going in guns blazing or your going to get dropped as you're not going to react fast enough.

Anyhow, I have about an hour of co op time... and about 39 hours of solo play. I still find plenty to do and still have tons of fun while doing it.

Throwing rocks at a mound of dirt can be fun with friends, but I wouldn't pay for the opportunity.
Was gonna make a remark about Rock Throwing Simulator VR, but then realized that there probably is an actual Rock Throwing Simulator and I probably just didn't see it in whatever IndieGala or Groupees bundle it was in.

Triggered Redditers should totally teach Blizzard a lesson by not playing their wildly successful game. That'll learn them.
From the one comment posted under this story. . .
Gamers are idiots, by and large. Their first mistake was supporting this blatantly Progressive game.
You reap what you sow.

so, yeah, quit playing commie games, cucks!

Someone should build a wall to keep politics threads out of CAG!
We actually have tried that, that didn't work long before our own wall builders brought over goods from such as VR

Settle down, Beavis. You're turning into a barely more lucid version of Tebow.
Thanks for the insults. I understand that you bought your wife from South America and there's risk of her being deported now that Trump's in office. And I understand that my opinion of Hillary made you defriend me on Steam passive-aggressively. I'm glad we're such a functional community that we use hyperbole to get our idiotic political views across to prove each other wrong.

No week-long deals, possibly due to a spring sale starting tomorrow?

Other news, Dishonored 2 is getting a free trial later this week (play first 3 missions).

That's usually a sign of a sale. Did the Easter bunny resurrect this week? I'm Catholic, so I feel like I should know that.

Also:

1. Hover over your avatar in the upper right and click "My Profile"

2. Then click "Edit Profile"

3. Then go to "Ignore Preferences"

4. Type "Blade" and be sure to click all three boxes to ignore Posts, Messages, and Signature.

5. Click "Save changes"

Works for anyone, just using Blade as an example.

Huh? I never defriended you. The only person I've actively defriended on Steam was Tebow and that wasn't political, it was just because he spams nonsense (political or otherwise, I have no need for his weird babble). Seriously fer realz, if we're disconnected on Steam it was inadvertent. I don't remember you ever posting on the Steam activity feed -- if I wanted to shut ya up, I'd ignore you on CAG.

Sadly for the Trump Brown People Deportation Squad, my lovely wife was born to a US citizen father and has the documents to prove it :D

Ashtorah fertility cult festival is on the 16th.

Christ, you take the vernal equinox and then Easter is the first Sunday following the next full moon after the equinox. Is that so hard to remember?

Is there a way to do it on Tapatalk? I can't seem too figure it out.

[Sonic the Hedgehog stuff]
If Hillary Clinton were president, we'd have better deals than this. :whistle2:

In Steamish-related things, if anyone decides to buy Mafia III after fooling with the demo like I did, you unfortunately have to download the entire game, including the 29 Gb of bits you already had, all over again. The demo disappears from your Steam library and is replaced with the full game. When you launch the full version, the game asks you if you want to continue from your demo save (twice), and if you say "yes," you pick up right where you left off.

Can confirm that Fox's instructions work, have had him on my ignore list ever since he told people I cheated them out of money and games when I hosted Indie Galas. He loves his alternative facts almost as much as he does eating with his mouth open on discord. Congratulations on not realizing that Syntax Error's condescending posts directed at me because I don't like Hillary Clinton prompted a response, moran.
