It was Black Ops III where they Xbox got the map packs first. It would be a smart play to show off the power difference between Scorpio and PS4 pro, seems like they are planning on doing this with Shadow of Modor II whatever that game is called again...

PlayStation has had the advertising stuff for CoD for the last two I think. After the Infinite Warfare blunder they may have decided against it. I hope Xbox hasn't decided to do it though, it just feels like these deals are a waste of money.

My guess is they only announced a release today because dead by daylight was announced.
 
I thought DR4 was a broken mess. May have been fixed since launch though. My only death was from having an NPC, that you are supposed to follow, start running into a wall. For 10+ minutes. Lack of proper co-op also sucked since 3 had it.
 
I played Cities Skylines today for about 45 minutes. Pretty damn cool. Anybody who was concerned about the controls sucking on console, fear not, as everything is implemented intuitively for the controller.
 
In Forza Horizon 3, for those having trouble with the Driftworks Challenge, I can confirm you can do the same one three times. You can also rewind midway through a Drift Zone if you did well on the first part, but messed up the later parts, as long as you do not leave the Drift Zone, cross the end line, or get a Failed message. Rewinding after any of those things will not count.

If you're like me and are awful at Drift Zones, try using the Tesla Model S with Ludicrous Speed. It goes 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds, so you'll be able to gain much needed speed on a shorter road. Entering Drift Zones at higher speeds is the key to more points.

Whoever named the Tesla Model S with Ludicrous Speed was obviously a fan of Spaceballs.

Thanks for that, yeah after grabbing all but the drifting challenge I decided to return back to Blizzard Mountain. Did a few there and wasn't cutting it so I looked at the one at the top near Blizzard Peak. There's a patch of ice in the middle of the thing so you can get waaay sideways on that part lol. Was able to repeatedly 3 star that one and it counted for the challenge.

That is correct, you only need to find one drift zone you're good at and then repeat, repeat, repeat. It's easiest if you have Blizzard Mountain with the snow and ice.

I used my Chevy Corvette Z06 Horizon Edition, gives you Drift Bonus, and it worked well on the top of Blizzard Mountain. Afterwards I went back to the Byron Bay and did donuts inside the Horizon Festival pavement area/road and badink 10 Burnout skills lol. 4/4 done

I'll just agree to disagree here. I'm not saying it was a terrible game, but it is a bad Dead Rising. I have nothing against there being an easy baby mode as an option, but it shouldn't have been the only way to play the game, and the Black Friday mode wasn't able to fix this because many of the design decisions simply are designed to make the game easy no matter how much damage you take from enemies. A lot of the conventions that made Dead Rising unique were removed, (the timer, Psychopaths, difficulty) and it resulted in a standard third-person zombie game.

It might have reviewed OK, I wouldn't say well, but most fans of the series seem to dislike it if you look at user reviews or Steam. Pretty similar to the DmC situation. This would be fine if it was a smashing success, but it took 4 months to sell half of what Capcom projected before launch.

Now there's an idea I can get with, would love to see that happen. While it's no CoD, I really enjoy playing History Channel Civil War: Secret Missions. The graphics are dated of course, what it lacks in polished looks it makes up for in gameplay and history presentation. In my book it's least worth playing through once.

 
So everyone is saying it is better to wait on Dead Rising 4 price to drop further. The season pass sounds good for $10, but would it be better to wait for the bundle to drop further?

I don't think SFV is disliked by the hardcore community, they're the only ones that were really happy with it. It was all the more casual players that were upset, though I don't know how big the split is between people that only care about versus and online and people who really want story and arcade. Kind of the opposite problem of Dead Rising 4.

Definitely didn't sell well though. Capcom was doing bad financially before this generation even started. It seems likely the exclusive deals for Street Fighter and Dead Rising came about because of this. RE7 sold pretty well though, that may have helped. I'm sure all the cheap HD remasters have made them a lot money too, those seem like pure profit.

The only way the season pass can save face is if that mini golf dlc coming soon is nice, because the current dlc is dumb and boring af

There is no X-files logo in that collection, therefore it is fail.

 
When I got home a fired up FH3 the achievement tracker showed me 2/3 the way on the drift challenge. It didn't show that this am. Anyway was able to get a third drift with out too many retries. Then I grabbed the raptor drift truck and 20 tries later got the achievement for drifting in a heavy truck.

That was always an odd one, it seemed like the "scene" was more in the 360 space for Street Fighter IV and then just to exclude Xbox entirely on V. I get that Sony put some money into it so yeah I bet Capcom is really hurting

Virtually all the fighting game communities were on 360 because it had a very slight edge on input delay on many fighters, including SFIV. I'm not sure if this was a hardware issue or developer issue, but it was a known thing. This combined with the fact that more people had 360s overall until very late in the generation, and pretty much all fighters were available on both platforms except the most niche anime fighters.

For this generation, PS4 has way more consoles out there. And it seems Capcom doesn't really care about the input delay as SFV has 8 frames of delay for some reason.

hardcore players play it because there is so much money in it compared to anything else, but the consensus is the game is bad

I've only been able to play a little bit as I don't have a PS4, but I wouldn't say the core game itself is bad, it was just missing too many features at launch. No story, arcade, or training was a terrible choice from what seems like a really rushed team, but Street Fighter has never had a very strong game in the feature department. If you look at SFIV or pretty much any older iteration of the series, they only really had Arcade as far as single-player goes, and Story is generally just a different arcade order with unique endings.

They really should have learned the lesson Bamco learned from Soul Calibur V. It launched with a very unfinished story mode and a couple mediocre modes when it's generally had a lot for solo play in the past, and even though it probably had the best gameplay since SCII, the reception was fairly bad.
