~33 after coupon at shady keys, not the lowest, but not bad either.  Good luck on waitin for another glitch on premium, hasnt happened in months

You can get the same kind of experience from most bronights. Even the shitty games we play are entertaining to some extent because you get to listen to everyone bitch about how everything sucks

At the very least the base is regularly on sale. $34.99 seems to be the regular sale price on places like Amazon.

I don't think premium is that important in the immediate for the most part unless someone gets a deal, since there's only been that one pack so far. A few Fridays ago Kyanos and FissFiss joined and neither of them had premium, but it didnt matter to any of us as the base maps are plentiful and still enjoyable.

well they usually followed a quarter-ish cycle with previous games and dlc packs. So next one should be this summer around june/july, then another september/october. The farther it goes along the more important it becomes though since after 2 releases you're already missing out on basically half the maps available as well as alot more servers, the base only servers tend to get super crowded after a while.

So yea, not immediately important, but once the second one comes out it definitely becomes more important

Sure, and as time goes on it makes the chance of a premium pass sale that much more likely as well. The first significant BF4 Premium Pass sale happened in June after its initial November release. They've so far followed the sales calendar with BF1 pretty similarly (i.e. Amazon has) + there's always third party possibilities that may pop up.

The lack of premium shouldnt stop anyone from getting the base for a bit at least. The fact that the base only servers are crowded is a good thing IMO. If I didnt have premium I'd want people playing the base maps as much as possible. Hell, the premium servers are fucking crowded too.

Oh sure, I didnt mean to say someone shouldnt buy the base because they couldnt get premium for cheap. May as well snap up base if you wanna play it and wait out a sale on premium

Yeah, I tried using Directory Opus Light for a little while from that bundle but it just doesn't integrate that well into Windows (compared to the normal file explorer) and it takes too long to open. I think the Pro version is meant to be a full replacement for the normal file explorer. I basically just use it to find folder sizes now, like TreeSize.

Edit: I am using Fences, though. I like it.

I actually took a look at the company's website and the light version seems seriously gimped compared to the Pro version, and to upgrade to Pro is about $30 USD. I'm pretty sure that's not the best use of my resources.

Hm. Funny thing about Fences. I keep up with Stardock's goings-on because I've been a longtime user of its desktop enhancement products, and the CEO swears by this application--he's actually written that it's a must-use app or something to that effect. Personally, I just don't use desktop icons and I haven't since Windows 98, maybe. Thus Fences is one of the more useless components of Object Desktop to me.

I need to make it more of a point to join bronights. Course i'm not playing much other than Titanfall 2 on consoles and getting bitched at by friends on there.

yea i thought about it afterwards. It is some nice throwback action, and maps were ok, but then I realized we have the new doom. That does throwback fps multiplayer very well, and also has great maps. All the while still having an actual player base, more weapons, more modes, etc etc etc

So in other words, we should do a doom mp bronight

 
FYI if you're joining tonight for PVW2, theres about a 10-15 minute intro section that has to be played before you even get to the main menu. At least its not as bad as PVW1 which had like 10 sections of tutorial before you could multi.
