The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

Hey blackbeard, Did you know that Gamestop changed the prices of some of their items? When do they change them? I wanted to do some boomerangs on them but the price went up by too much. :(

 
I just got my confirmation email for my order with gamestop website. I used trade credit on it. What's so bad about using it on online orders? I know that I had issues when my order got cancelled because my credit card was declined but I just called customer service and they gave it back to me.

I did a trade in of most of my old gen stuff since they got better new gen versions. The cashier says out loud my trade in balance on my card. It's around ~$470. It was pretty awkward.

Yeah I'm wondering about this too. I'm paranoid to use my trade credit online. Has anyone had their trade balance on their Powerup card hacked?

It's the absolute worst, especially when announced with a lot of customers in-store. I had to cut off the employee this past weekend.

"Ok, your pre-orders are paid off, do you want anything else? You still have a crazy $8....." - no, I'm good, thanks!

Thankfully the only card I ever had used on GS.com in the past 5 years is getting reissued in July, and I haven't used it in over a year and a half on there. So hopefully I'm safe.

 
Always take the time to write out what value is supposed to be on each black card you have. Try to only use one card per online order, wait till a success/confirmation before making another order.

Anyways, do you guys suppose the Wii U will ever be a "rare" niche cult classic system, meaning one I'd regret selling for $100, having kept the box and packing and manuals and kept the system itself in excellent condition?

It seems to have the killer app exclusives that made Dreamcast legendary despite flopping , the weird oddity toy appeal of 3DO/Jaguar without being a broken POS ("the system only one kid in the neighborhood had") , and some of the appeal that things like Game Boy Micro had.

I can see it going either way, being as cheap and easy to find fully functioning as Saturn ($50, $100 CIB), or rare as the PSX DVR & Panasonic Qube.

It gathers dust, takes up a lot of shelf space, but man, some of the games are so good you just wanna come back to again and again. That 3DS Mario Maker is shite.
 
Is there a limit on the amount of one game I can buy online?  Put in an order Sunday morning for Mafia III and 3 copies of Dead Space 3.  Got shipment confirmation for Mafia III only, and looking up the order online it still lists the Dead Space games, just says they haven't shipped yet.

 
For whatever reason i couldnt load more than 947 on my card without being blocked from the pos. I had to get a new card at that point. Hate this odd ass amount but whatever
 
Did anyone else get the "you have $xxx.xx in credit" email with the $10 cert in it? It says valid may 1 - 31 but i cant find it in my active offers

If there is a limit, it shouldn't allow you to place the order, and it'd tell you when you add it to your cart. I think 3 copies of a cheap, old game is fine. It'll probably ship later on.

 
Anyone know what timezone the price changes change at...i have gs funds on a regular gift card not trade card at home i wanna use to make orders and not home atm. Is it pacific time or central time?

A lot of folks here have had problems with GS online in general, not even using trade credit or anything but just a regular credit card. I personally haven't had any issues using trade credit and buying now $500+ worth of PSN and Xbox credit.
 
You guys know if you save your trade values now on the app they will appear as 5/2 that way when u go trade them just be like what really they were this trade value this morning they must have changed it and u have proof on the save value that it's value holdd at the end of business date 5/2 and if your lucky they might honor it just make sure u make the store u go to your home store.

Just as I was about to buy Blops and Dead Space.

When I try to buy them on the iPhone App, it's trying to charge me tax despite paying with trade credit, in store in NY it never does. Fudge.

Online/App will always charge tax regardless of local/in-store policy on trade credit.

anyone know how to fix the saved trades page yet if u have over 99 values saved?
Even after their website revamping, it errors out saying unable to save trades on website & app..their website developers messed up on the coding, i can't even go in to view my 100 saved values to even delete them coz the saved values page is empty & says I have nothing

I was gonna buy a few more Dead Space 3s but I notice the RDR values didn't really increase that much or did it?? did any backwards compatible title really skyrocket though afterward besides BO2?

Anyone know what the trade policy is in Louisiana for GS? or for New Orleans specifically coz I think some cities have their own rules? Going there soon & thinking of making a new acct since my home state requires DL for trades & acct creation. And when u r tradebanned, is your GS acct banned or is it your ID that's banned for 90 days?

How do people get promoted to ASL? Did they get crazy glowing surveys from customers or something? I can't imagine anyone giving awesome reviews for the guy they're training right now here, seriously the dumbest employee I've ever encountered at GS...If I have to deal with him 1 more time I think games will be flying into his face rofl. ya ya the whole "customer is always right" nonsense is seriously stupid but in my case, I've always been right, I'm not like one of those stupid customers that thinks they know what they're talking about lol geez. roflmao at this one that tried to convince an employee insurance was brought on his pre-owned controller so he could get an exchange after 30 days had already passed....ya somehow the insurance was never rang up properly...uh huh sure lol.

That's weird mine worked on the app. I know online it probably won't let you save trades because they might be changing the value.
 
Ok thanks. CAG16 took off half the tax so I don't mind.

Of course, my trade card balance is still showing the pre-transaction numbers. Were I to try and push it, most likely they'll just cancel future orders, or even the original order, right?
 
Placed my order for DS3, Bops Collection and Mario Party 7 (gamecube).  Confirmation email came right away....I'll let you guys know what happens next.

Yeah, I think you would regret selling it for $100.

Especially when you can easily accumulate $100 GS credit, trading games.

If you're not currently playing it, put it away.

That stupid controller with the screen in it is what will drive the price up in the future. When working ones become hard to find, everyone will want one.
 
Just placed 2 online orders; nothing unusual from the first order but the second one apparently went through despite me not having enough credit on a trade card. Does trade card credit deduct instantly when purchasing online?

Reason I'm asking is because I planned on breaking payment into 2 cards since my first card wouldn't cover the entire order but apparently the system prompted me told me I had enough funds on the card. In addition, I have already gotten an order confirmation from the second order as well.
 
I'm quite sure it might be canceled but here's to hoping it doesn't.  :pray:

Just went into a gamestop and asked about the values and what they have in the system is different than in the app. Mafia 3 is trading in for 13 now.
