WELCOME TO THE NEW GAMESTOP TRADE-IN THREAD.

The new thread format will be a work in progress but this first post will be the promos that are active and useful information, but also wikified. The second post will currently be frequently asked questions but may move it into the first post. Post three will be historical trade-in values from before the list.

It does. Local store was putting up new marketing stuff yesterday and it carried over and had a new sign.

Cashier made me pay off Rime but whatever I just canceled it immediately after I got my AMZ cards. ooo jajaja nah I leave good surveys and just posted here but now I know to not say anything here. I bought the guardians game then traded that in order to not pile up on pre orders. My id is free now so I can trade and hit my 2k limit
 
Hey shrike I want to be clear that the reason I sent that response to your earlier post was that I disagree with you blasting that guy like he was a dumbass for buying 30+ games in one transaction so that the B2G1 coupon could be maximized. I value your opinion and many others here so I would like to know what you and the community thinks is a reasonable number of games to buy with one B2G1 coupon?

Wasn't specifically targeting you if you think that, the lurkers come out from the shadows during these promos and don't seem to understand how to use discretion. You don't think GS monitors this forum or "He who shall not be named" isn't already on the phone with corporate?

its really a crapshoot, it doesnt matter how many we think is reasonable, it matters how many the guy working at the gamestop counter thinks is too much. you might get someone that doesnt care and wont bat an eye at 30 games or someone that flips out at 6 because the coupon says buy 2 get 1 free. personally i think any double digit purchases are more likely to draw attention.

 
Off topic, but anyone have experience returning a "new" game to GS? Bought the last copy of The Surge yesterday with the trade promo, but it was opened. They didn't put a seal sticker on it like they sometimes do. Took the stickers off cuz I'm OCD and was originally planning on keeping it. That might have boned me.

Probably not worth the argument depending on how much flipping you've done. I've got one copy of Guardians on the XB1 that doesn't have a seal sticker and I'm pissed because the TIV is lower than the PS4 version. I might try taking it to my buddies store, but I'll probably just eat it and charge it to the game.

You might be able to argue your way into returning it, but since you removed the price stickers too you will have an even harder time.
 
A lot of companies have "sales" today as most people are off because of the holiday it attracts customers...

But why do y'all care what someone else does with their coupon, time or money lol, what does it matter what someone thinks is a responsible amount to buy...it's not meant to be abused but it is, one day that's not gonna be the case so enjoy the free money while it lasts

I bought some clearance amiibos the other day and the amiibos cases, I bought them in a different town and I returned inkling boy because he was around 10$ and I figured I'd wait to catch him at 5$...so I take it to my "home store" and it's always the same two guys or the 1 store leader older guy I say I'm trying to return this and he just looks upset about the whole situation asks me why and I say I didn't need it...before he says anything else I say just add the money to a preorder (2dxl) he does but I don't think he wanted too...anyway whole point no one in that store is gonna let me use the buy 2 get 1 more than once and I don't even do flips like y'all.

Also at my store they just ask for your phone number, Yea they have my real name and address but I could of easily gave them a fake, an other local retro store doesn't ask for Id either but they low ball you, the guy gets on his computer and looks at GameStop trade prices I'm almost sure of it and try's to give 2$ less...an other retro shop did ask me for my Id when selling two gameboy advance, they paid better tho but the face on these retro shops in my area when I sell them stuff, they are not selling stuff other than 360 and PS3 games, people only go into them to look now, because I damm sure ain't buying Pokémon leaf green for 70$ Lol
 
Can anybody explain how the "Extra $20 on any phone, tablet, media player, or wearable" promotion works? The terms and conditions is very bare bones and I am curious.

I have a Chromecast 2 worth $8 on their website and am wondering if that means I get $20 extra for it or what?
 
So Rime works as it should. I actually transferred my preorder of Rime Switch to Rime Xbox1 so I can play it now and traded DeadSpace3 for $15.50 with the $5 bonus coupon.

I also picked up a $20 Dominos card and a GameStop gift. The $5 came off the Dominos card but it totaled $20 as expected.
 
Got an email about GameStop new EPIC Rewards Center. Don't see anything too crazy, however you can now get District 9 and Attack the Block on XBL/PSN for 10k points each lol
 
Have restaurant.com $25 gift cards always been 1,850 points or is that a typo? I would try one but I heard their shit as they let the restaurants set their own rules regarding how they take the gift card.

Yea, I remember when we would report trade in values and JP would compile them. It was a much more involved process. Ironically, I don't even flip much any more. But using Blackbeard's sheet to figure out what to keep and what to get rid of still makes it so much easier.

Leave the restaurant.com coupons alone. They are horrible, I got a free one from T-Mobile Tuesday and it still wasn't worth it. Half the restaurants want you to spend double to triple the amount of the "gift card" you have and most don't allow alcohol to be bought on the bill with the coupon. Unless it's like bakery, not worth the points.

 
Do TIV bonus games usually get a stealth bump the month after their release? I see both Stardew Valley and Yooka-Laylee got the bump. I'm just wondering if Rime will likely see a $8->$15 bump come the end of June.
 
Yup Rime for Switch still works, so we can bank on that 40% bonus till June 18th. I know there are other games to get the bonus but my GS lets me put $1 down every time to trigger the bonus, so I'd rather just have that one extra preorder than having extras like Morrowind or Stormblood. That's why I wanted to know about Rime specifically

my transactions from friday and saturday both showed up the next day. the ones from yesterday (sunday) haven't posted yet

 
So there's no bonuses going on on console trade ins right now, right?

Like that "up to $150" for 3DSXL is long gone?
 
So I put 9 games on hold and the gamestop store called me they said i passed the hold limit and asking if it was a legit thing that I was gonna pick them up lol. I told them yeah and they said they were just calling to make sure. So let me get this straight once they say it'll be so and so I just show the B2G1 coupon and the cheapest ones will be free okay good to go.

It was in the weekly ad for last week, but the end date for that promo said 6/18.

The $200 for a PS4 part, at least.
So it may be in the weekly ad this Wed.

Also saw a giant sign in store yesterday, for the promo.
