Just curious where you got your numbers. According to vgchartz Wii-U (no longer in production) ended at 13.9 million units sold worldwide. Vita is still in production and is at 15.6 million units. Just wondering if you have a different/ better source for numbers.

Also I am fairly sure TG-16 sold less than 1 million units unless you are lumping it in with PC Engine. The libraries were so different between the US and Japan that I think that would be tough to justify. CD games worked on both systems, but the HuCard required an adaptor.

As far as pricing goes I feel like there is always a drop as retailers exit the market for a system followed by a rise in price (where we are now with the Vita) as people who own the system try to grab a few more titles. After that there is another drop as the casual market moves on to the next system (not quite to the extent of the retailer liquidation). Then the price just goes up from there as fewer and fewer units/games are available. You used to be able to walk into almost any thrift store and pick up an NES for less than $20 and regularly find carts for $1-2. Once the fluid supply dries up prices go up.

As far as used Vitas go I see them in pawn shops for less than $100 fairly often, but they almost never have a memory card. One store told me they throw away all memory cards (games, cameras etc.) to avoid questionable material.
Like most, I just googled the numbers. May have been wikipedia? TG16 (and all system numbers discussed) is talking world wide system sales so certainly including foreign versions... not just NA. What I read said the TG16, Dreamcast and Saturn all hovered around the 10 million mark each. DC & Saturn were around 9 million and change each but it's easier to round up.

Even if the numbers were wrong on the WiiU vs the Vita, they aren't off by 10's of millions or anything and to some degree all sources are a bit foggy. We're still talking pretty tiny market shares. I doubt anyone outside of the respective companies has manufacturing numbers let alone the failure rate to get an accurate idea of units sold. The PSP alone (again, internet numbers) outsold the WiiU, Vita, Dreamcast, TG16 and Saturn... combined and then some. Just adding some perspective. These aren't as big in the gaming world as they are to us serious about the system. We're talking about 5x what the Wonderswan sold (combined all models).

Looks like Velocity 2x and Axium Verge are up on videogamesplus.ca for Vita (with ESRB logo).  I am wondering how wide of a release these are going to get.  Would be nice to see them hit Best Buy for the GCU discount.  Both are set to release in October along with Demon Gaze 2 according to the website.  Looks like another busy month for Vita.

I just noticed that this morning myself, but didn't get the time to post earlier, so thanks. I just preorderd the EU version from Play-Asia a few days ago, so I'll hang on to that one for now, as no telling how these are going to be released, and what may or may not be offered in the different regions.

Like, how hard is it to state whats being released, and where? I swear this stuff is way more difficult than it really needs to be. LOL

I seen Rayman vita 15$ and terreria for 9 at my Walmart also a age of demons 15...my Walmart got rid of the registers by the electronics a lot was missing but their clearance items aphave no prices or are priced high

Keeping the hype real to exploit the booming collector audience.

That's cool. If I didn't already own them digital I'd be looking closer at them. Especially Axiom Verge.

My only issue with vgp is last year getting my CC info hacked after ordering something from them. Turned out a lot of people have had that happen, so just keep that in mind when ordering. Paypal should bypass the issue (seems like that was a payment option).

Those prices aren't that bad, especially Terreria. Give it a week and go back. Maybe a few weeks. Walmart is YMMV, but mine went back to the games bargain bin and marked everything down a second time... some games as low as like $2.

Damn I wish there was a Walmart by me, I would love Terreria.

Starting to think maybe I better buy a spare battery for mine(phat). Looks like the options for getting a slim battery are limited, but the original battery's are available all over the net(and mostly good reviews, even for non OEM).

Thought about getting a slim as a backup, but really don't play it much lately, and the games being released recently haven't gotten my attention.

I do have a new in box charger I'm trying to decide if I should keep. Bought it as a spare when I was playing it a lot.

I think it was one of those PS+ free games, but I still wouldnt mind owning a physical copy.
Terraria is a fantastic game that plays great on the Vita, especially since you can zoom the screen view in and out using pinch on the touch screen. One of my favorite games of all time. Keep in mind that the Vita physical copy will have a much older version of the game (which of course is easily updated online), they made huge improvements to it via patches after release.

Last week I asked my friend at GS to try and find me a copy of Odin Sphere complete on Vita and he one-upped me and was able to find a new copy from GS since it's 29.99 instead of the 39.99 pre-owned. They actually got in a sealed copy, which I didn't think Gamestop would ever have for a vita game. On top of that he kept a case for a game that was traded in and let me have it  He said the guy also traded in the Star Force games but didn't have any other cases

You can find sealed games like that at GS, but they are for sure the needles in a haystack. LOL

When the two disc version of Bayonetta was OOP, and GS had a sale(which was the only place to still have it new), the last copy at my local store was sealed. I guess they didn't know they had it, or just decided against that broken "gut games" policy, either way, it was a great find. I would have still bought it if it would have been opened, as I planned to play the game, but it was nice to get such a rare find at the time, that was still sealed.

Is Axiom Verge really that good? For some reason, the smaller size of the character on screen really bothers me.
I thought it was amazing, and way better than anything Metroid related "N"has released in ages. 9/10 from me easy, as it is for sure one of my top 10 indie titles, maybe even top 5.

Great! Maybe I'll look into Axiom Verge after all. I'm not a big fan of backtracking in any game, but maybe this one.

I'll be waiting to see if Best Buy puts up preorders for both games as well. Thank you GCU!

If backtracking isn't your thing, AV probably isn't going to change your mind. But for those who like that type of game, it's one of the best out there.

I have 3 16GB memory cards and thought that maybe I could swap between them with their downloaded games like a hard drive. I tried to create a separate menu page for each time I inserted a card but it removes the game icons from the previous card and loads up the new card games only. Is there an easier way to remember what's installed on which card other than writing it down or getting larger cards?

No vita is stupid....just stupid. Why do you think people rarely have other countries' psns on the Vita because it requires switching and is a pain. Just badly done and yes get a bigger memory card while you can. Good luck!

Oh well, guess I can use a B2G1 at GS for a few 32gb cards.

I'm SO close to completing the Vita library (as of now), but now the time has come to buy Breach and Clear on eBay, and looking at those prices make me very, very sad. I wish an open one would pop up so I could at least save a little bit (because I plan on playing it to begin with), but I'm not sure if I should wait for that or not. Do open ones show up on eBay often?

You might be even sadder if you haven't gotten a NA copy of Epic Mickey 2 as well, which was only available in the Vita Console bundle sold in Mexico.

At least that one goes for a reasonable cost from time to time, as there was a guy in Canada I believe sold a decent size lot of copies. I was going to get in when they where offered around $130, but then the price got raised, so I'm happy with my EU copy for now.

I don't think I have seen a single listing that was not sealed. I think the best bet is trying to grab one while eBay is doing bonus eBay bucks. I almost bought extras when it released, but did not and thought that was the right decision. It took several months after release before the price started to jump. At least the price seems to be stable now between $200-250 and the game seems to always be available which seems strange for only 1500 units.

I actually do have that, thankfully! Found out about it after buying the PEGI version, which was awesome... It's crazy that Breach and Clear goes for more than Epic Mickey, which I see pop up even less.

Yeah, I got lucky a while back and had an offer accepted on eBay for it. But even ones with a buy it now don't go as high as Breach and Clear.

The bonus bucks promotion is the exact reason why I came to ask ha! It's not much to make the deal sweeter, but it's something, especially since the price has been stable like you mentioned. Thanks for the response. I'll probably pull the trigger on one of the copies and feel crappy about it later haha.

Sadly, with each new LRG release, more and more people become familiar with the company, and what they offer. So yeah, interest is always going to be high for their first release, where Epic Mickey 2 does have many versions in English out there, so while they do go up less, the demand will probably never reach the B&C levels, but it could some day. Especially if the collectors market continues to grow for the Vita.

In the Japanese games thread, girls und panzer is getting a PS4 release but I found the Vita version on eBay over $100. Kind of bummed about that

For Japanese version no subs? Is it a eBay thing or its also sold out in Amazon Japan and other Japanese gaming outlets?

Does anyone else use Tapatalk to browse CAG, and see tons of repeated CAG ads (pointing to threads) repeated frequently inside the threads? In this thread alone I am seeing tons of the stupid Homer Simpson pic of him on the NASA stage, it makes no sense at all. Other threads have similar problems, something is badly misconfigured with either CAG or Tapatalk.

Hey it's not on Tweegs list, so I'm not counting it...yet.

Other than Mickey I'm missing Period: Cube, but I'm not that worried about that one although maybe I should pick it up soon...oh and Volume is still being held for ransom.

And not adding it either. Sony has Mexico categorized as "Region 4". "ESRB" Rating are not uncommon on games released south of the border as most countries in Central & South America do not have their own domestic video game ratings board group.

I see it too. There was an update for the Tapatalk app a few days ago. It's been that way since.

Are there any games you guys are looking forward to that are coming out in the west or getting english releases? I'd like to know because the vita, for me at least, hasn't had any games for several months.
