When I saw a writer for IGN post that picture on twitter I got more than a little excited but yes it is a fake.  The last couple GWG months have been personally disappointing so there is still a part of me that hopes some of it will be accurate.

Just won my first Battle Royal in FORTNITE with a team of two other dudes. None of us died.

Was a great feeling.

The poison fog ended up covering almost the whole map till there was a tiny spot left. The enemy team was hiding in a house so their coverage ended up near nill the end.

All of a sudden Verizon has enforced a 15GB Hotspot cap on our Unlimited 4G devices. The deal was Unlimited internet and then after 22 GB they'd prioritize your internet with everyone else on the network and if the network is congested you'll see slower speeds (as what happened this summer when the tourists were in town). It happened with my personal smartphone, my Google Pixel (which I created a hotspot to get my Xbox One online), and now today it happened with our jetpack (the way the house gets internet from the cell tower that's literally right behind the house on top of a hill). After hitting the cap the phone's hotspot was throttled to UP to 600 Kbps. You can't download anything on the Xbox One with this lowest speed possible, web browsing, email and occasionally Youtube is doable yet expect to wait for shit. I switched over to the house jetpack - which is slower than my Goggle Pixel & has a lower data allowance, 15GB - and grabbed Pinball FX 3 and its tables, grabbed the Fortnite update and was downloading the update for Halo Wars 2 today before the Jetpack got a notification that said the same thing that said on my phone (and keep in mind we've never received this notification on the Jetpack). This new cap, which was told to me via chat support that it was always there but never enforced until this month and the BS that is Verizon has throttled my Xbox to the point where I'll never be able to download anything again (I have the expansion HW2: AotN at 30% & it's killing me).

Back in E3 when FM7 was announced and shown off Amazon had a pricing glitch for the Ultimate Edition for $80, and thanks to a fellow CAG for posting it here I was able to jump on that. Now there's no way in hell I'll be able to get it because it's a digital code from Amazon (let alone the day 1 update which pretty much seals the deal).

Hooouugggh, am I pissed.

Maybe once a month you can get a hotel room or take your xbox to the library to get some crap downloaded? You could probably get a hotel room for one night for the wifi password, then just download from the parking lot after that (you'd need one of those suitcase tvs or a fancy set up in your car I guess).
 
My new house has google fiber....and my current house has google fiber. We only have 50 up/down at work and it's really only noticeable on big downloads or uploads.

I used to live in KC and had the Google Fiber. When I downloaded stuff from Steam, my hard drive was the bottleneck. It was glorious. Ironically enough, living in rural Kansas now, I also have a fiber connection. The difference is a Gigabit connection would cost me $240 a month as opposed to the $70 for the Google Fiber.

So I have a Hyundai Veloster Turbo that has an infotainment system. It was set up & marketed for your Xbox 360 or PS3. I have a setup where I can take my Xbox One on the road (and I did that with the local library). I jerry rigged a setup where I plugged in the Xbox One, the external hard drive and a HDMI converter box (because the car doesn't have HDMI obv) all on a power strip. Yeeaahh, that's like barely passable, the things only work if you start them up in a specific order and occasionally during the winter I would be on my Xbox in the library parking lot using their wifi with a giant big ass coat.

The problem is every public wifi hotspot has a web portal you need to go into in order to setup, which my local library adopted as well, their wifi service for your device. As far as I know, that's not doable for the Xbox One because it doesn't have the UI for it because you just go into their Network UI to find wifi or your wired setup.

Verizon told me that I could add a Data Boost, pssh, onto my account of 5GB for $35. I mean, w.t.f. The hotel room is cheaper than that shit.

Edit: Wow, I thought they were BS. I looked back at older emails when we went over the 4G LTE limit and they say they're going to slow us down to 3G speeds. Now the email I had the other day says reduced to speeds of up to 600 kbps. F Verizon, they went Unlimited and then backed down because too many people joined their network.

Bear if you're reading this, I know you have a Jetpack too so just a heads up.

$240? Who in their right mind would pay that much for an internet connection? I’m quite fine with my $45 for a 60 MB connection thank you.

$70 is acceptable. $240 is insane unless you’re running a business and need it.

Hate to hear that Spy. I might be in the same boat as you, but your sinking a little faster then me. I had to buy a booster off Amazon to get cell service in the house then I went and got a hotspot device from AT&T for the house to have internet. My plan is the same unlimited everything but after 22GB they have the right to slow it down. I was reading my plan and the hotspot data is counted separate then reg data where I will only have 10GB of hotspot before they can slow it down. Right now the house hotspot has used 140GB and my phone hotspot has used 100GB, on top of 120GB of reg data use. I still have 12 days before my plan renews.

Trying to get an xbox one onto public wifi is technically possible but it's insanely complicated and difficult and even when done correctly works about 1 time out of 10. You got a raw deal.

Hmm. When I've connected to public wifi before I found the signal just by scanning and it was after connecting that the first webpage visited redirected to their little web portal/service agreement. If edge on the xbox won't automatically redirect, you could try saving the web portal as a bookmark then opening that manually on the xbox.

I suppose the easier thing would be to sign in on your phone and then just use that as a hotspot.

If public wifi won't work, you can always try driving around rural neighborhoods looking for unsecured wifi. Best to get an unmarked cargo van and a mustache, you know just to avoid suspicion.

Yeah the plan used to be like that, 10GB of hotspot cap. They gave everybody 5 GB and then slowed em down to up to 600 kbps after they hit that mark apparently. I was curious and so I looked up my data history - don't have home jetpack data history though -, phone usage (phone and hotspot data), from June to August was 437GB, 303GB, & 317GB. This month, I've used 24.35GB and my plan reset 5 days ago. Keep me updated on your situation Bear. I don't think AT&T is available here but I'll have to look into it.

 
random but I wonder if they will have any more killer instinct bundles

I'm too cheap and don't play enough to buy those few latest characters at full price

own all the current bundles available. feels like that kinda stuff is always on sale when I'm not in the market and never on sale when I am

Granted, that $240 is for 1000/1000. You can get a weird 1000/10 for $200. Not sure why you wouldn't just kick in the extra to get all that additional upload speed. I get 20/6 for $50. That's the best in my area.

dont think unlimited data plans are meant to be abused with trying to get unlimited hotspot. be happy youre getting unlimited on your phone itself.

Have to highly disagree with you on that one. It's not abusing the service, it's the only way some people in rural areas can get internet. There's that or satellite internet but that's worse due to the high latency and lower caps. It's not Unlimited, because as soon as you go over they throttle you. It's Limited.

Ahh the days when I was on campus and set my Bittorrent client to scrub for any of my preferred new TV shows and I'd be downloading them 24/7. Now that's abuse and that's also how I got a virus on my PC lol.

eh i mean your situation sucks but these phone service providers arent known to be internet providers. i wouldnt treat them like one. doesnt say in their advertisements unlimited data so you can hotspot all your devices in your husehold. if they did that youd be getting quite a steal.

as for the bittotrent i dont think its the fact that you were downloading stuff 24/7. i think its the fact you were pirating stuff period.

Lol, that's literally what a Jetpack is used for. It's a modem, a "hotspot" device that allows devices in your home to access internet. Although it sucks and I had to buy an extender to cover a majority of the house.

So you could technically use that mindset and factor out the phone from allowing your Xbox One or laptop from accessing the internet. Like I said though, this never was an issue until this month.

Oh oh so you're going to say you never torrented anything in college?! Relax, I had no income, it was a life learning phase I would say. Now that I'm older and have an income I pay for my entertainment and support the creators.

Anyways I tried some more matches of Fortnite BR with teams this time and surprisingly was able to play it more or less (I experienced a lot of lag which made sniping all bit impossible). One of my teams of 4 went down to 3 very early on and then they thankfully revived me after I had a shootout in a ranger tower that someone below also blew the hell up with a rocket lol. So we're going together now and don't team mate work, slowly working our way to the middle. Whelp, not fast enough, got caught running away from the shrinking "storm". Doh.
Second team was a lot more organized, guy added me to his party chat. We're playing and organizing our strategy until half our squad gets taken out. Then the guy goes can you spectate for us? Yeah that seems like an exploit, as our ex teammate communicated with the whole team from what they saw.

Pretty cool to see someone hole up in a house and have an electric ceiling trap on the stairs so someone comes exploring in the house and ZAP. They also tore out the wall and built a wall with a window to shoot out of it.

At the end it was two teams facing off, each building their own fortifications and strategic walls. The team that had the rocket launcher and the food sniper won out in the end. Eh, I think Fortnite has a good case for the BR genre. I like that it's an additional mode though. The main game is still a lot of fun and the crafting of some legendary weapons itches that weapon loot itch that you'd have with something like Loot RPG Borderlands. There's just more exploring, resource gathering and building in Fortnite. Ok off to bed.

Yea entered at 2am and no miliseconds later sorry you didnt win or nothing.

Im also experiencing the zero friends online glitch on the X1. I removed and reinstall profile. Cleared cache, power cycle..etc. Still nothing

I was having issues with Live after the last preview update. My friends list would be empty or show a couple people online at hours they never play, and when I checked the xbox app on my phone there were others online. Network settings first said DNS wasn't resolving xbox addresses, then just told me to try again indefinitely with an error code like 0x00000000000. I ended up resetting to factory defaults and haven't had an issue since. Lol, I had also downloaded an update to a usb stick to roll my xbox back, but like I said the reset fixed things for me.


I don't want any Forza dlc, and picking a favorite is too hard, so I'll just go with my latest obsession: Ghost. I've been describing them as a christian rock band for satanists. Anyone interested should check out Cirice and
Year Zero.
