I saw the trailers for Mother, but didn't realize for some reason it was an Aronofsky film. So yeah, now I get why everyone is saying it's completely nonsensical and yet critics are climbing over one another to say how brilliant it is.

I watched it on Sunday and thought it was pretty amazing. I will say however that I picked up on the basic theme of the film during a particular scene with Javier Bardem and Ed Harris, then when Michelle Pfeiffer showed up it confirmed my thoughts. I missed some of the connections and when I talked about it with a friend who saw it the night before we both filled it in a bit for each other. I'm not a pretentious film snob but I thought it was incredibly well done for what it was. On the same token I can understand why people would hate it, it's not really typical american cinema.

If nothing else it's amazing how the level of tension was kept so high the entire film. I found myself having to consciously relax my hands as I kept balling my fists.

Same here. I'd say it was because of the camera work. Lawrence is in close-up for 66 minutes of the film. When she isn't, it's shot from her P.O.V. or from over her shoulder.

So, games... Right!

The only game worthy of the 'walking simulator' moniker is Pilgrimage (Ohenro-San: Hosshin no Dojo) for the GameCube.

Mine used to say I had 722 tables to import and then it take me out of the game to some page and saying something about it can't find something and try again. Anyway, now I get that it can't find any tables when I do it again. It used to not let me purchase The Walking Dead or Portal tables, but that has changed now. I don't think I've ever bought either of those tables either, since it seems they have never been on sale. Probably would have bought them on the Xbox 360 first though. Oh and I couldn't get The Walking Dead for free as mentioned by someone on here.

According to StoreParser.com, the Super League tables have been delisted.

Aronofsky did one of my favorite movies, Pi. I also liked some of the camera work that developed between Pi and Requiem for a Dream. Now I'm interested in Mother. Yay for movie pass.

If you mean which usb, it is the one closest to the power plug. Looking at the back, it would be the left most one I believe. If you have multiple external drives you can use a USB hub.
 
All the allegory and hidden meanings didn’t make Mother less of a shit movie really, but at least I understand what he was going for now

I never really look for hidden meanings in movies, but once you see it it’s definitely there. Feel pretty dumb for not picking up on it myself. Now I really need to put some deep thought into Ninjago so I can figure out the meaning of that shit too

I had that happen. I imagine it's pinging the store/purchase history more than it can handle, so it bugs out after a few tables. Not sure how it comes up with the table count since there are about 60 some tables in total and I apparently have 120 or so tables. It would've been nice if there was direct Cross Buy support and the packs of tables I owned in PFX2 were just free on the store to make the whole process easier.

He's got talent. I also enjoyed The Wrestler. My wife still wants to see Mother, and I'm actually more interested in seeing it now after reading what you guys thought. I'll probably check it out soon.

Yes! I learned a lot about uh...adult stuff as an impressionable youth from my dad's Leisure Suit Larry games. Whatever I hadn't already learned from my older stepbrothers, that is.

 
Halo CEA being released digitally makes me think it’ll be a November GWG for its anniversary.

Then again, I’m looking forward to that sandwich game I keep seeing mentioned.
 
You mean to tell me that the horde/escalation mode is locked behind Gold?  I'm new to XB1 so I had no idea...escalation was half the reason I bought this game.  I hardly finish campaigns, but I love the horde/challenge modes. 

Any way around this other than just buying Gold? 

Edit: I am an offline gamer, but maybe Gears alone is worth getting Gold for?

Halo CEA has been up since Saturday I believe ($19,99) but up until yesterday, when you looked it up from the Xbox One store it said "this title is not yet available" or something along those lines. The same with the Johnson DLC for ODST.

Yep. I'll buy it, complete the story and get rid of it. I'm excited for it, but I don't have the time or inclination to get involved in Rockstar's online MP time/moneysinks.

Yeah, any online play requires gold. Generally you can get a year of it for ~40 or less depending on sales.

 
Transformers Rise of the DS on sale for $15...any thoughts on this?  Seems like it has all the character/weapon content from the Fall of Cybertron game.  Storyline was not as celebrated, but again, I'm mainly playing horde/escalation offline with different characters.

Make sure you get a good team. If your teaming up with randoms then drop off with said randoms when they jump off. Always stick together and your chances of survival are higher - John Madden

I got second place with my friend last night and two randoms. We ended up losing because the area became ultra small and the other team had a sniper. I made the mistake of trying to revive him before taking out one of the last two players.

FYI, Escalation is a competitive, 5 on 5 PvP mode. Not sure if you were aware of that, since you were lumping it in with Horde. You don't play against bots.

Horde is way,way different than you remember from Gears 2 and 3. There are classes, with special skillsets, and they all have a role to play. On top of that, you will be playing, not exaggerating, hundreds of hours of Horde to get those classes up to Rank 10 in order to tackle the harder difficulties like Insane and Inconceivable. And you can only get your skills/cards from loot packs that you can buy with in-game credits, or real money if you prefer.

If you can see yourself playing Horde nonstop, I'd say go for it.

Thanks man...I may be confusing the terms especially since in games like transformers the escalation mode is an offline single player mode.

Yeah. It's called Bing Rewards. You never have to buy gold again. In 3 months of using Bing (without missing a day) you can get a free 12 month xbl gold membership.

Count me in for Fortnite if you guys are grouping up. Surely that's worthy of a CAG Game Night being free and all.

Is Bing Rewards the same as Microsoft Rewards? Xbox Live Rewards is being replaced by “Microsoft Rewards” in Canada starting October but I have no idea what it is.

In the Xbox store there is only 1 version, which I believe is the Definitive Edition even though the name doesn't say that. The description does describe it that way.
