So, the PS Blog says any purchase during sale of the dead gets you a free extended 14 day PS Vue trial.

Anyone have any details on that? Does it activate automatically? Bought zombie army trilogy and a few others last night, but haven't gotten any notification/info/code/whatever for the Vue promo yet.

I hope we get that spend $100 deal.  I need to extend my PS+... and if I have to do that, I'll spend the rest on this sale.    But if they don't have that deal, I will spend far less on this sale.   I will hold out.

I wonder if they'll change the trophy list since the original is one of the most time consuming Platinums. I liked the game a lot but burned out long before completing everything.
I remember playing on 360 and hating the fact that there were 3 discs. Also, this is a great example of a game you should never buy if you care about achievements / trophies.

It especially sucks since a number of trophies are difficulty related and they don't let you switch difficulties stupidly so you have like a minimum of 3 playthroughs right off the bat.

I would like them to fix the freezing glitch for the secret dungeon but I wont hold my breath since they didn't do that for the ps3 port.

Other things that would make the game better would be removing the arena grinding crap. If you make it to the 2nd rank you shouldn't have to grind each match with every party member plus grinding rank 3-5 repeatedly just to unlock the final arena boss. Same issue with the team arena.

Make it so you can do item synthesis from the shop menus at least instead of the stupid ship to cut down on backtracking. Or give the game quick jump like tales of xillia 1. Ai controls and short cuts options for party members.

Allow you to assign all 8 attack slots by removing the stupid skill cost system. Bring back fury spamming from so3 (there seemed to be a bug in game that let you do infinite combos with reimi I encountered. But I was never able to duplicate it) and mp death/other status ailments would be nice. I miss being able to apply freeze to weapons and then freeze smashing or mp killing enemies.

And give edge more attack skills and skills that flow as well as meracles/reimis did. along with skills for faize and sarah since but use melee weapons but have no physical attack options idiotically.

I mentioned earlier that there are no details yet.

they always tempt me with the house of the dead games but I don't have any of the accessories and I'm sure those games are a pain with the regular remote

I'd just end up letting the expensive accessories collect dust

Is that the best price Witcher III Complete has been at? I feel like pretty soon it will be available everywhere on disk at that price. Not debating merits of digital vs disk, just personally would prefer to grab a disk copy at that price and wondering if that's a realistic expectation in the very near future.

I would say there is a good chance that it's somewhere in the $15-20 range for Black Friday. It's constantly on sale on disc and digitally.

I don't think The Witcher 3 CE digital version will go lower than $20 TBH. If you want it cheaper I suggest waiting for the next Witcher 3 sale and do this: Stock up on PCGameSupply $10 PSN credit for $7. For example I bought 3x $10 PSN digital cards last month from PCGameSupply for $21. Today I just used the $20 out of $30 PSN credit I have on Witcher 3. Basically I bought the Witcher 3 The Complete Edition for $14.

I've played the first Nightmares from the Deep (Just bought the second one) and Layers of Fear DLC. The Nightmares from the Deep games are ports of android games from Artifex Mundi. They're basically point and click puzzle games. Think Mystery Case Files, etc. I played a ton of them on my Kindle through Amazon Underground (including the first Nightmares from the Deep), and Artifex Mundi makes some of the best I've played in that genre. So a solid recommendation if you're into the casual point and click/hidden object adventure thing.

If you liked Layers of Fear, the DLC might be worth it. If I remember correctly, it's sort of a linear "go the right room, trigger a scene or gameplay" kind of deal that wraps up the story nicely, playing as the daughter of the character from the main game.

Yeah, I played it on 360 as well. I sit right next to my console and swapping discs was still annoying. Probably would have gave up on the game if I had to get up every time...lol.

I wish Sony would stop contradicting themselves on when this sale ends.  They keep advertising it as ending on 10/24, but each individual game's page says that the price is available until 10/31.  I don't know if I actually have until the 31st to decide on which of the current games to buy or if they'll all go back to regular price on the 24th.

Yeah, I guess so. It would just be nice if I had an extra week to decide.

Does anyone have any opinions on Layers of Fear or Among the Sleep? My friend enjoyed Layers of Fear on his Xbox so I'm thinking about getting that, and the general concept of Among the Sleep just seems really interesting to me (playing a first person game from the perspective of a baby). However, they both just seem kind of like "walking simulators," where you go from room to room waiting to trigger the next jump scare. Do either of them have any actual, engaging puzzles to solve?

Layers of Fear has a lot of puzzles, but there is still a lot of walking. I highly recommend it though because it's good at building up suspense and isn't entirely jumpscares.

Thanks for the insight. I don't mind the game making me walk around to build up suspense, as long as there's some actual gameplay in there as well (I know there's no combat, so in this case it would be thought-provoking puzzles).

The puzzles definitely make you think, most of them revolve around exploring and interacting with your surroundings in different ways, versus mini-game style puzzles

Anyone played Subterrain and have any thoughts about it?  It's been on my Steam wishlist for a long time.  Seems interesting.

I played through Among the Sleep twice, once on Steam and then just yesterday on PS4 (completed back to back with The Park as part of my October Scarefest.) Like you, I enjoyed the concept of the game, and in general the game is quite fun if you enjoy some Psychological Horror mixed with Adult Fear. Though it is rather short, you're looking at on average 3 or so hours (that's with getting all trophies), and is a straightforward walking sim (the puzzles are quite simple) but there really isn't any jump scares. There are moments when you should be worried about something getting you, but it's an actual threat, not a jump scare. You'll know when you should be worried. I bought the physical copy, but I can recommend the download at a cheap price just for the interesting story and really nice graphics.

I really gotta stop buying the same games over and over

for different systems

upgrading physical to digital

sometimes vanilla and complete versions

own it on ps3 and 360

then the ports and remakes

in this case the deadspace and bioshock but I do it way too often

Bought it months ago, highly suggest you avoid it. Too much game for any cag to own. Also avoid fallout 4 goty.
As a kid I only had 1-2 games a year. I always wanted every game I could get my hands on and couldn’t wait till I grew up and could buy any game I wanted...

Now I have the money to get just about anything I want and there’s not enough time to play them! I still have trouble not buying them though.

Sometimes I feel like the guy from that twilight zone episode who wanted to read all the time and then the world ends and he has mountains of books but his glasses break lol.

Gems of War got a huge update overhauling the entire interface and UI, which I'm not sure is better than the old look. It has less art to it and more text and simple icons for everything.

I just played through Among the Sleep last week and it's a terrible terrible game. I'm a big fan of good walking simulators. Among the Sleep is not one of them.

I feel pretty much the same way. I remember loving sports games when I was a kid since I felt like I could play them endlessly which was good since I was only getting a new game every month or two. Now it seems like a waste to buy a sports game because it will always feel unfinished since I'll soon be moving on to another game.

I feel you. I'm tempted to buy Resident Evil 5 for PS4 during this sale even though I have it on 360, PS3 and PC.

lol the resident evil games are the worst for me

I've bought them all around 8 times and haven't even played a majority of them

whatever they put in the kid's meals and in the subliminal messages we absorbed as kids worked because 20 years+ later and I'm still shoveling money at the same things for no real reason other than hoarding

and now it's worse because it's digital hoarding which is like selling me unicorn magic over and over

Can't be as bad as me, I own almost every numbered RE game and a few of the non-numbered ones and I have yet to play any of them. The worst example has to be RE0 which I bought probably about 10 years ago at this point, on the gamecube, and have only played about 20 minutes of total since then.

Going to actually change that soon though as I bought RE1 on this Halloween sale. There is nothing else coming out in 2017 I want day 1 (besides some Switch games but I do not have a Switch yet so they don't count!) so it's just backlog city for me until MH World in January.

sort of really want to rebuy the dead space games because i love them... but i know i'll never get around to them unless they did a remaster for ps4

For me it was rpgs. Final fantasy games were everything. You could play and grind on those games forever if you wanted. Now those long rpgs are the last thing I want to buy! Who has 100+ hours to play that shit?!

And yet I still want them! (Looking at you Witcher 3)

I'm with you. When I was a kid and could only get one game per couple of months they we're great. As an adult with a family I dread long RPGs. I still buy them all of course. Lol. My wife says I only play the game if huyung games now.

I bought the complete version of Dead Space. Re-playing right now. It’s worth it. All the new guns and suits are sweet. Forgot just how fantastic the gameplay is.

For anyone that has South Park, is it a lengthy rpg? Not to the level of Persona 5, but atleast 80+ hours to complete almost, if not everything? I ask because im trying to decide if I should finally play Horizon or jump into South Park after I finish The Evil Within 2.

I haven't finished it yet but a trophy guide I saw gave an estimate of 20-30 hours for the Platinum. That seems plenty long to me for the type of game it is.

Is everybody having a brain related event? There have been so many strange 'autocorrects' lately.

I apparently already own everything. Huh. But you're right, I just can't go back to the shittiness of the DualShock 3 at this point. I need to get my PC working again, where I also own them, so I can use a better controller. Increased resolution and FPS is a bonus, though when I tried to play DS1 a couple years ago, I couldn't get it to run without some major issues.

I love RPG's but between a full time job and a toddler and a wife who also plays games (which means if there's a game she wants to play I can't play it in front of her) it's really hard to get through them. I'm still maybe only halfway through ME: A and I am kinda dreading it a bit because I only get to play about 2 hours at a time so it's hard to get in a rhythm. Telltale games and other choice based games are easier because my wife likes to watch and I can make it through a good section each night. Right now I'm playing Until Dawn, which is pretty good although I find myself wondering why I'm trying to save all these turd teenagers.

I just use my PS4 controller on the PS3, only had 1 game so far not support it. It's not perfect but as someone who has hated every PS controller until PS4 (which is probably my favorite controller ever) it's worth the annoyances.
