First Evil Within title, full shebang for $12.50.  Thoughts?  I don't really mind rough around the edges games and I tend to prefer playing the first game(s) in a series before the sequels.

That was a pretty good game 5... For no horse in the race series it sure has been entertaining.
I also have no horse in the race but since the Dodgers dominated all season I would have liked to see them get a World Series sweep, not sure how I feel about all these major sporting events always needing to go the full 7 games.....

The last person who sent me a friend request on steam texted me after i accepted and asked me if i was "alright" and if i "needed to talk" after seeing how many games i own

the worst was when i added my little sister which was a huge mistake. she has like 3 friends and 6 games and was shocked/vicariously ashamed for me. I also legitimately did have to explain the concept of idling to her... yes, when i don't play video games i pretend to so i can make 7 cents
I tried tossing my bundle scraps at a friend. He wouldn't accept them, and he later accused me of being involved in some kind of organized Steam game mafia and didn't want any part of my stolen game keys.

In retrospect, he probably was correct.

I ran into similar situation with my little cousin/co-workers and I told her/them that I helped support indie developers, fledgling artists and start-up tech group in around the world

My little kickback for being "patron of the art" = they gave me a copy of their works for my support --> hence the 1000+ backlog

Unless you're a fan of the team completing the sweep, I don't understand the logic in rooting for a sweep ever.

I agree with the general consensus, huge backlog might be slightly embarrassing IRL, but my life would be wasted had I actually played most of those bundle trash games.

I can't imagine that Digital Hoarders would be a hugely successful reality show.

We've called in digital organizing expert Dr. Lisa Johnson to help counsel pasports31 and move him towards inhabiting a healthier and more hygienic Steam environment. "When I first saw pasports's library, with the stacks of unplayed titles and digital Bad Rats feces everywhere, I was shocked and appalled. I thought to myself, 'How can someone live like this?!'" Pasports's brother Desports42 had to get him off-site for a while while Dr. Johnson and her team of digital cleanup experts worked to get his Steam library cleaned up.

Unless you're a fan of the team completing the sweep, I don't understand the logic in rooting for a sweep ever.
Hm. Can we go back to talking about hamburgers or pizza or how DRM-free games or how much Halloween sales suck or pretty much anything other than actual sports?!

Here, I'll start us off:

I started playing my backlogged Dragon Age: Inquisition DLCs the other week and made a few salient observations. First, it was a little weird going back to a game that was actually designed with KB+M in mind after spending 95% of my gaming time over the last few months engrossed in Mafia III, which can go either way, but leans heavily towards the controller side. Getting familiar with the interface and systems again was a slight learning curve but not too bad, until I realized the other day that I had forgotten a very important thing--the V key, which allows your PC to see things in the environment that you as the player can quite obviously see on the screen. I'm not quite sure why this mechanic exists in the game other than to make you feel like a guy walking around with a digital metal detector.

I mean with the removal feature added to Steam, Digital Hoarders would work, but every episode would be like this:

Host:  Do you really need King Arthur's Gold?   I mean, didn't you say it was the worst game in your library?

Bro:  That's true.  I guess I can let it go.

Host:  That's a great first step.  I'll put in the removal request now.

Bro:  NO! WAIT! WHAT IF WE SCHEDULE IT AGAIN?

Host:  I already put in the request.

[One week later]

Host:  I was told you added all the games we removed back to your library.  How did you manage that?

Bro:  I scoured the cesspool until I found stray bundle copies laying around.

B-but china number one?

Edit: after reading the article and learning they have banned Big Bang Theory, I'll respect their decision

May your generous spirit be an inspiration to us all!

There isn't actually any blood in PUBG aside from a vague "jelly screen" effect when you're hit and a momentary red burst if someone else is hit.  The character models don't get bloody or leave blood sprays on the environment.

I think the Chinese government is just mad about speed hackers and aimbots!

Might be as good a time as any to ask what you guys are doing with your cheap Steam Links. I'm trying to get Kodi to install so I can stream media with it, but no luck so far. Sucks that you can't plug a hard drive in directly.

There are prebuilds, I helped initially to get it up and running again since the original steam dev had done some groundwork to have kodi build but it stopped working once they opensourced the link sdk. So since we got it running others have started doing builds as they see fit,

They usually link back to garbear's release area of his repo. You should be able to just download the tgz, unpack, copy it to a usb stick under \steamlink\apps, then insert it and boot up. The bootup will take a lot longer as it copies the files over

Honestly though last time I tried it it still ran like shit. There's just not enough ram on links to easily run apps like this, especially when you get in the larger skins. When I used my link in my HT setup it was much easier to just install kodi on the desktop and stream it over, also runs alot better like that. Now that steam also installs a 5.1/7.1 audio device on windows just for streaming you should get surround sound streaming as PCM 5/7.1 no matter your output as well, as long as your output for the link supports PCM surround

Because it seems like too many sporting events are needing to go the full series length, which is beginning to feel a bit manufactured. It would be nice to see an old-fashioned sweep every once in awhile.

My cheap steam link is still sitting unopened on the kitchen table where I opened the Amazon box over a month ago. Wouldn't it be easier to just stream kodi from your pc? I don't think the steam links have a very powerful processor.

Dunno about any of that technical stuff man. I just stream my Steam games. But anything else on your desktop streams directly to it too. I don't know why you'd need to install other programs or anything since you can just watch whatever your desktop is viewing.

I don't know what any of this means but I am sooo in.

heh, tldr;

just install kodi on your desktop and add it as a non-steam game. Setup its audio settings to match what your link is outputting to and you're good to go

You can even buy a flirc module (like 10-20$ on amazon depending on sales) and you can use an ir remote with it

I wouldn't want to stream movies from my computer because the stream would be reencoded, which is why I was ideally hoping I could get codecs onto my Steam Link and play HEVC directly. Sucks that it's not very powerful. I usually just hook up a laptop to my TV and use that, but I thought this would be more convenient.

Meh, it was only $8 in Gabenbux, will probably use it to scare a few people who don't know about my extensive collection of weird games like Mount Your Friends and forget about it.

pretty sure the link doesnt have a hardware h265 decoder, so you wouldnt be able to use it for hevc anyway. Its basically the same chip that was in the chromecast 1, so you're going to be limited to 1080p mpeg4 and below by the hardware

Honestly the re-encoding looks fine. As long as you have a stable and fast enough connection you wouldnt notice. I eventually stopped using mine since I did a new gaming build so I repurposed my old one into a steambox, so that gave me native decode. But really the difference is unnoticeable. The one thing it did get me was bitstream audio (can send DD/DTS to my receiver) but even that I stopped using as I dont want to have to deal with all the weird 7.1 AAC and other formats my receiver cant handle. So doing straight PCM 5.1 output ensures I always have surround decoded properly

I think you guys are getting the macgamestore confused with the wingamestore...
if its a steamworks game, it doesnt matter, the key you get from the macgamestore will give you the game on pc if you redeem on steam pc. At least that was the case when I bought Bioshock Infinite a couple of years ago

I think Fox was talking about the WinGameStores's "pcgamestore5off" promo code vs. MacGameStore's "macgames5off" promo code. Both are supposedly once usage allowed each.

On the Steamplay matter - just look at the game on the digital store and see if it supports Steam; then go check the Steam page for the game to check what OS's are supported. When you activate the key from whatever store over onto Steam - you get all of the OS-supported versions of that game which are listed on the Steam page.

Are those Quake Champions packs on eBay, the cheap ones, the full game or is it DLC? Seems like a good deal when the game is $30 on steam.
You need to give more succinct examples, link what "packs" you're asking about.

Without looking anything up, I know that the AMD promo version (what I assume you're asking about) is more inclusive than the Humble version. But, its not for Steam. Its Bethesda Launcher. I assume you need that with the Steam version anyway, but the AMD one gives you all of the "Champions" or whatever. The Humble Monthly version that is a Steam key is more limited in scope.

Yeah, the Humble version is Steam but it's garbage. Only gives you two champions. If you actually want to play the game and have all of the champions, the AMD one is the way to go despite being non-steam. I really don't get why people pay for the Humble one..

I thought that streaming movies from your computer didn't require to reencode the movie again through the Steam Link.

I also don't understand why would you require to install Kodi, as you can do the same with VLC.

That's how I watch my movies. Open VLC on my PC, play the movie using Big Picture and go to the living room and watch it on TV. PC is the piece of hardware which is decoding it, not the Link as far as I know.

Also, if you have a decent TV, you could watch pics, etc..

About KF2 weekly.

I don't know yet if it's a bug or what but I did the weekly mission and didn't got my reward and I wasn't the only one who had that issue. I would advice you all not to do the mission for now.
