Hell, I have trouble with the controls even using a PS4 controller. Really wish they had given the option for re-mapping.

I am currently seeing full price for it. I clicked on the link through the ad and went to gamestop.com and typed it in and they were both priced at $60.

Gonna probably be a bit hasty and say that even with the bad controls, Matterfall may actually be my new favorite Housemarque game. Beautiful and just damn fun gameplay.

It is pretty to look at and is fun but sometimes feel like I’m fighting the controls, which also seem needlessly complex. Maybe they’ll grow on me after a while.

On another note, I picked up Earth’s Dawn. Nice little side scrolling action RPG. Not a fan of the stilted animations but, on the other end of the spectrum, fairly simple controls with some nice combos. The ability system is a bit weird and not explained very well (unless I accidentally clicked through a message or two). That said, I think it’s definitely worth $6.

I put an order in for one, but it got cancelled claiming they couldn't verify my payment method. I used PayPal. Now the card's out of stock and my money's being held up until the bank transfer finishes. That's not a huge deal since it's only $39, but it's still annoying and doesn't exactly induce confidence in Rakuten if I wanted to make a bigger purchase with them.

It’s been on my wishlist since launch, I just don’t know if it’ll go lower than this sale price anytime soon.
 
So this is weird... just bought Deadpool (PS4) Tuesday on sale for $9.99 with plus discount, now today I’m scrolling through my wishlist in the store’s website and since I hadn’t removed it yet I go to do that and notice the price has increased to $10.99 with plus discount. Has that ever happened before? I just find that kind of strange

I was mostly chocking it up to greed on Activision’s end lol

I figured they saw it made a few sales at that price and maybe tried to up the price a bit just to milk more money from that game. I think that’s the lowest it’s been (even at $10.99) which is ridiculous because they tried pawning it for around $30 for the longest time. Don’t get me wrong the game made me laugh quite a few times but it’s really not worth what they think it’s worth haha
 
An annoying thing to me about the PS Store is if an item is in your Wishlist and you buy it, it doesn't automatically remove the game from your Wishlist.  It's a little thing, but it seems like an obvious/easy fix.

Agreed.

It’s also ridiculous that the wishlist has a max of 97 slots. Seems like such an arbitrary number.

and the 10 limit in the cart is a giant pain in the ass but I guess when someone has a 20% coupon that 10 makes sense on their side

as a shopper of both psn and xbx digital content I can say the psn online part is still way superior but often I wish they would just take the best of both sites and combine them, they could do it with the systems and sites and just call it Daywalker

I'd take it. Took advantage of the swych deal to save $6 off of $20 psn credit..trying to convince myself to not pull the trigger on Hellblade at full price right now because of the "savings".

The game looks awesome.

It’s a great game. Definitely recommend it.

I doubt it’ll be on sale before year end. Games that also come out on PC tend to go on sale there first, indicating it’ll get cheaper elsewhere. To my knowledge it hasn’t been on sale on PC yet.

You have to activate them first, but it's a neat addition to the service beyond getting points for buying things on the store.

For the trophy passes, you get 1000 points ($10) for 10 platinum trophies, 250 points ($2.50) for 25 gold trophies, and 100 points ($1) for 100 silver trophies after activating the pass. It's not retroactive, but I don't see any sort of expiration date on this offer. The pass for using trials for PSN services (PS+, Music, Now, Vue) is retroactive, as I had two checkmarks after activating it a minute ago. That pass gets you a 15% off coupon for the PS Store if you use all four trials.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the first time Sony has rewarded us in any way for earning trophies except for sending out free themes if you platinum certain games (Bloodborne comes to mind)...?

I don't know about you guys, but my trophies certainly give me a boost with the ladies. When I'm out at a club, one of the first things I do is pull up PSN Profiles and the ladies go wild. I should be rewarding Sony for that...

Thanks for the heads up on this. That said, for some reason the silver trophy pass says that I have 0 out of 100. I know that's not correct. Having said that, I had linked my Playstation Card to my rewards account, I have nearly enough points for $40 PSN. I never would have known if you hadn't mentioned this (causing me to log into my rewards account).

I'm surprised Agents of Mayhem was just a blip on the radar.  I picked it up from Redbox for like 15 and am having a blast.

It feels like GI Joe meets Saint's Row.   You start with 3 characters, but can unlock a lot more... each has a unique weapon and skill set.   Brawlers, assault, beam weapons, bows, etc...   Each character plays very different.   You take out a squad of 3 and can switch between them at will [tag team style, they heal while not active].

The biggest mark against the game is it feels very 'checklist'y... mission to find new agent, mission to unlock them, mission to unlock special ability, etc... plus tons of 'open world' style things to do plus a main storyline.  There's also a lot of arena style combat, so I guess that could get old, though so far I've been enjoying it.   You can easily switch difficultly across a broad spectrum, sort of diablo style [you set a level that affects gold/exp bonuses].

That said, it's actually really well put together.   There's a far greater complexity to combat than is in Saint's Row, and it works really well.   Some enemies might have shields in addition to health, for example, so different squadmates work better to remove shields, then switch, etc.

Definitely was worth picking up if you see it at the right price.

 
This is awesome. Would be even more awesome if it was retroactive with the 88 platinum trophies I already have. But still, I feel like we’ve been asking for a digital currency reward system based on the amount of trophies you’ve obtained for awhile. Props to them for coming through.

I'm a big Tower Defense fan. I've played a couple of games in the pack, and they're okay. There's some "Pay to Win" elements that are pretty awful. Like, if you upgrade the wrong unit at the wrong time, there's no way to go back, and you've lost the virtual currency to get other (better) items upgraded.

So the game's like "Oh, you lost that currency, just buy some more!!!"

Which caused me to get angry, so I pushed through two of them with specifically not buying anything (it was a slog)

They had that contest where you could bid points for raffle entries based on trophies earned on real prizes, but I believe it kind of got messed up due to cheaters.

This is a far cleaner idea, overall. A little annoyed because I just convinced myself to give up on the plat hunt, and now they introduce this...
