Wait until you see the difference. It's incredible. I had no idea what I was missing all these years. I think I'm becoming a graphics whore. I'm gonna make the jump to high end PC gaming when I get my finances in order.

Repawn's game has manged to likely be to first EA Star Wars project that will release that isn't Battlefront, I think that is their only hope at surviving, and if so they may get turned into a SW focused studio. We already know Titanfall 2 performed below EA's expectations and I think they've already blown their chance at becoming one of the top dogs in FPS, as far as popularity and sales go. While fans are happy with the game, there are plenty of reports that the game isn't well populated even with all the free updates. It hasn't built up a crazy following after a meh launch like Rainbow Six Siege. I think TF3 has a strong chance of being in the same situation Dead Space 3 was.

If their Star Wars sales don't make EA happy, they'll be put on bullshit within 5 years, just like Visceral ended up.

We may end up with a 3 year cycle where they release Battlefront, Battlefield, Titanfall/Other Respawn Game over and over. Would give each studio time to develop their own thing, and they wouldn't be tripping over their own IPs each Christmas.

I would say play the first one and it’s dlc because it helps to establish the story for allies and enemies for 2. I loved both games that I got all the achievements for each even though it takes about 2 play throughs. Playing with powers and killing, and then no powers and no killing without being spotted are so much fun. Good replay value.
 
Alright, thanks for the responses. Sounds like I need to resist my graphics whore urges and play the first Dishonored before the second.

That said, with my excitement of getting an X, that probably means moving the pair into the backlog.

One of the biggest things that killed Visceral Games was not even in-game related, location. Their studio was in San Francisco, CA. It's really high cost for a studio there with a property nobody is playing. That's troubling for Respawn too because they're headquartered in Beverly Hills, CA lol!

I finally got an AVR with hdmi inputs, the Onkyo Tx nr656 on sale at BB, and after some fiddling around I've determined that only the hdmi cable that came with my x1s is 18gb/s.

For all the new x1x owners getting their native 4k on, what do you recommend for cables? I've always avoided "high end" cables, because it never used to make much difference aside from the underlying AWG. I'm thinking about picking up some Series-FE cables from BJC, but I was wondering if their economy cables would work just as well. I only need like 6'ers.
 
I hate Game Stop.  I just went to pickup my pre-ordered XBox One X and they said they sold it to some guy an hour ago.  

Guy yelled CAG for life as he ran out the door.

If you’re talking about HDMI, the one included with the X should work just fine. I have had some crappy cheap ones that didn’t work. One that I used for my fatty X1 did not work with my S (did not get all green checks on the X1S checker). So they can make a difference.

I’d try the one included with the X. I bought a 10 ft HDMI at Walmart for like $25 that was more “high end” than the $10-15 ones and it too worked great. So you don’t need to spend $60 or more on them.

I’d have to check to see what brand the one I bought at WM was.

That sucks, but it's just like every other pre-ordered item They become fair game after so long (usually two days) unless you have a deal worked out with them. Did you at least get the standard Xbox One X? Why didn't you pick it up launch night?

It was a bad attempt at a joke. awp posted he picked up someones else pre-order. Probably be a year or more before I upgrade to an X.

As long as you're buying HDMI 2.0/"High Speed" labeled cables, you're fine. I recently bought a 2-pack of AmazonBasics brand and one IBRA brand 25-foot cable.

They both work like a charm.

That's a less stupidly worded, and ya the issue is that I need a second cable to connect the AVR to the TV.

Especially since it's a short run, any legitimate "high speed" cable should work fine. I was just wondering if anyone else had replaced hdmi cables recently and could weigh in...

Thanks for the reply and links! I'll probably still go with BJC, but it sounds like the basic cable will work fine.
 
So I get home and that 4TB WD drive I cancelled from Rakuten was there waiting for me. Went and checked and I was refunded (via PayPal).

Hmmm... do I keep it or be good and contact them about it?

This is usually where I email customer service for my conscience sake and rely on these dumb companies' lousy customer service to let my email fall through the cracks. I figure if it works in their favor most of the time when I actually need help with an account problem, etc., it should also work in my favor every once in awhile. If they happen to see it and respond in a reasonable timeframe, I am willing to follow through and do the right thing and return it.

"X1XE: True" just means the system recognizes it to be classified as an enhanced game. Doesn't necessarily mean that anything has actually been downloaded/applied, if there is something to download and apply.

Example: this is Halo 5, immediately after being installed off the disc with no updated applied:

Kane, I just watched the halo 5 digital foundry youtube video (love those guys). i'm seeing the same high visual fidelity as them (using the display on the rifle as a reference point) and my file still says durnago instead of scorpio. i also noticed that all of the games in my "enhanced" list say durango except the ones i installed/purchased after i got the new system. even after doing the upgrades, most of the games in the enhanced list still say durango.

gears of war 4 has the high-res/performance toggle in the menu and the file still says durango instead of scorpio.

what i'm getting at is the file details don't seem to be a consistent indicator of 4k patching yet.

Thanks everyone for the advice regarding For Honor and telling me it has a free to play weekend. I tried it for a few matches and really disliked it. The premise is cool, but execution as well as huge lag spikes made it awful for me.
On a side note, my brother and I are almost done with Resident Evil 7. Ugggh my anxiety is through thr roof.
Also anyone think AC: Orgins will have a digital sale on BF? I used a free Redbox code to rent it and.fell absolutely in love. So tempted to buy it as I habe about $100 in MS currency, but dont want to be burned if its on sale so soon. Plus I think I am getting a Xbox One X here soon, and keep reading how it looks the best out of all the enhanced games. I have the TCL 49" 4K tv

That's part of my problem though, most of my games don't say Durango OR Scorpio. They just don't say anything.

Are you just checking games that are supposed to be enhanced? If so, I can go through some of my old ones that aren't and see if they have that detail. What's the file size on your Titanfall 2?

I'll check when I get home tomorrow.

I checked every game I had that had some sort of enhancement (Halo 5, TF2, Hitman, Killer Instinct). Halo 5 was the only one that listed the type of assets applied (Scorpio). The other three didn't have any applied type listed.

Games already look and run better but storage space shows I'm missing the 4k packs.... what gives Microsoft?

I have my auto updates turned on.....

Went ahead and bought $40 worth of Xbox cards with bing points. Gotta get ready for Bloomy's hot black Friday specials!

Sadly, I don't think digital prices will come close to rivaling physical this black friday. Especially on new release games

i'm curious when you bought and installed halo 5. also, is it disc or digital? i'm trying to establish a pattern where games only say scorpio if they were installed after the x1x launch

 
Finally bit on the X1X after going back and forth. I don't need one since I have a PC too, but since that's where I play my multiplayer games I figured why not. When I picked it up from best buy they actually gave me their last Scorpio edition, which was neat. There were 3 other people picking up X1X's while I were in there too but they all just grabbed standards off the shelf, felt lucky getting the SE.
