so.. i guess u cant recover your HD?So as you guys know, I recently lost my file with a bunch of keys. Well, finally I took my time, and got through every single giftlink mail and the majority of forum PM's (where I got the key only). However there are some keys that I am not sure whether they work or not, so I'm posting it here (most of them should work as far as I know):
No unfortunately, I've tried everything. But with hours of work I managed to get like 90% of my keys this wayso.. i guess u cant recover your HD?
Sorry to hear about this man. How did this happen? No unfortunately, I've tried everything. But with hours of work I managed to get like 90% of my keys this way
which recovery software did you try and failed? No unfortunately, I've tried everything. But with hours of work I managed to get like 90% of my keys this way
Well, I clean installed my windows before putting my new gtx 1080 in. Saved everything on an external HDD, but forgot that my file with all my keys was on the desktop. When I realised, it was too late I think, cause I installed quite a few programs and it probably got overwritten. But at least I could get back most of them.Sorry to hear about this man. How did this happen?
Well, there were like 6 programs I tried. Deep scanned in every one of them, but nothing was on my old desktop.which recovery software did you try and failed?
Wow. I am thinking about upgrading my GPU as well, but I I didn't realize that you would have to clean install your hard drive as well since this is the first time I am doing this. What does the GPU have anything to do with your memory?Well, I clean installed my windows before putting my new gtx 1080 in. You don't have to do a clean install when you change your gpu, if you are swapping between Red or Green, then run DDU (google it) and do a full unsinstall, if you are upgrading from Nvidia to Nvidia, just select clean install when installing the drivers.Wow. I am upgrading from Nvidia to Nvidia. Is the clean install going to affect the data on your hard drive? Do I have to transfer all my data to an external hard drive? You don't have to do a clean install when you change your gpu, if you are swapping between Red or Green, then run DDU (google it) and do a full unsinstall, if you are upgrading from Nvidia to Nvidia, just select clean install when installing the drivers.
No. Literally only to do with your settings, configs, registry entries relating to your GPU.I am upgrading from Nvidia to Nvidia. Is the clean install going to affect the data on your hard drive?
That is what I thought. Thanks. I was wondering why roguelvp had to clean install windows before installing his new GPU.No. Literally only to do with your settings, configs, registry entries relating to your GPU.
No no, I just did it because I my windows wasn't reinstalled since I bought my PC 1,5 years ago and seemed a little slow. That is what I thought. Thanks. I was wondering why roguelvp had to clean install windows before installing his new GPU.
Ok. I am sorry to hear you lost some data in the process. I backed up my main C/: hard drive(with Windows 10 OS and essential files) on a spare external drive a year ago. That way I can always format my desktop and reinstall everything in case my PC is corrupted, ransomed or hijacked. No no, I just did it because I my windows wasn't reinstalled since I bought my PC 1,5 years ago and seemed a little slow.
One can just partition and install O.S. on that partition while leaving the 2nd partition for data/program/games. Reformating and re-installation would be painlessOk. Alternatively you can also sign up with a service like Backblaze Online Backup that will provide you with unlimited backup for a limited time. I actually have a code to use their service for 6 months from humble bundle, but haven't used it since making my own external hard drive backup.
Not if your PC has been hijacked and held to ransom. You won't be able to access your files since you would be locked out. Better to just format and delete your entire hard drive and use the backup on the external hard drive to reinstall your OS and essential files. One can just partition and install O.S. on that partition while leaving the 2nd partition for data/program/games.
