In fact I own a PS4 and while I prefer the Xbox ecosystem, I readily will admit that Sony has way more exclusives including some of my favorites of this year.

This is funny. I think we are in the same town so I this might just be an sc thing.

I agree with what you’re saying, I have two 4K TVs two Xbox one x and tow PS4 pros. Each has its pros and it’s cons, but both are worth having

PS4 has the best exclusives
PS4s also are terrible when using two systems as the save files don’t transfer automatically.

I did buy all multi platform games on PS4 since launch because i have no loyalty on systems. I just bought the best version. Now that I have the x most multi platform will be on there.

I hated my Xbox one a launch, ui was bad, i just bought for ki and dr3 but they have made it my favorite. When using two systems you don’t have to transfer saved files or anything it just automatically updates. do still love my PS4 pro even though the redesign was ugly, the old one looked better.

Oh and to anyone asking if a 4k is needed for a pro or an x the answer is yes. Hooked it up to a 1080p Sony and difference was very minimal. If you have a 4K TV though it is awesome.
 
I'm a 360 owner with a 720p TV playing Halo 3 right now. I think this game (and every Halo before it) looks very good. If I switch over to Rage or play Doom on the PS4, I'm amazed at how great these games look.   I'm in no rush for 1080/4K.

Minus some launch era games, the PS3-60 era has and will continue to age much better than PS2 and below. I play more 360 games than X1 games thanks to BC but it doesn't feel like going back 10 years the way it would if I booted up a PS2.

That might be tough. Of course, it depends on the game and how much developers put into it. But if you take something like Forza 7, the Digital Foundry / Eurogamer article said it basically matched an ultra high end PC at max settings with the exception of some anti-aliasing. Even my PC master race son was amazed it was running native 4K 60 FPS. Very few PC builds can do that.

I’m happy with a $500 X over a $1500 PC. ;)

I just have a skinny 360 and a fat Xbox one, to keep it all balanced. I'll prob get an Xbox One X once it's about $300 in a couple years, I'm in no hurry, I play a lot of Lego games with my kids and they look fine on the fatty.

All this final fantasy 15 talk is gonna make me buy it.

Also, I just got off the phone with Major Nelson and he said the next person to ask about new deals is getting banned to Oman.

What everyone is getting at is that the Xbox One X obviously doesn't offer exclusive games, but rather an exclusive experience. Granted, not everyone thinks access to that experience is worth the admission. I still have no idea where Kristaps falls on this issue, his posts are so nebulous.

many things go into my position but another one is the wow factor, I don't get it much anymore even with everyone loving their X

I remember that feeling with the N64 then the Ps2 then the xbox 360, real wow factor for me

I just don't feel that jump anymore it's diminishing returns to me, add in that I can play anything the rest can and any sort of haste doesn't exist for me

 
I'm glad there's no games that are locked to the X's ecosystem. Boy wouldn't that be a dick move. Yet people are quick to say the X has no exclusives. Well that depends on the definition too right. You looking for a game that can only be played on the X, then no. You looking for a game that can only be played on a Xbox/Win10 device, then yes*. fuck options right. I swear Phil's more of a gamer than an executive and that's a good thing for us imo. 

*Goes back to playing Gears of War 4.

 
It seems fans of the X are taking it more as criticism when it's actually a money/value at this particular time debate

I don't have any issue with the X as a system or the marketing of it existing. I wouldn't have any issue with it having exclusives but it doesn't which is why that makes it significantly less necessary at this given time if one isn't already amped up to spend their money on it and is asking for opinions.

Rage is still one of the best looking games on the 360. The quality difference when going from PS2/Xbox to PS3/360 was far greater than PS3/360 to PS4/Xbone.

Technically the XBox One doesn't have any exclusives, or at least very little. However, despite what fanboys on the internet may tell you: The majority of the best selling games are multi platform. Now when you consider the powah of the XBox X your getting the best performing selling games on one system. Of course there will be games that run better on the PC but not at the current price point. XBox wins. Fatality.

Though now that the PS4 is going for peanuts this Black Friday (as is the X1) if you don't own a PS4 for the exclusives, this Thursday/Friday would be a great time to get one. That goes for the people who still don't own a X1 yet either. Your probably looking at another 2 years (at worst) of PS4/X1 on the market before the next systems are out.

 
I have no issues with the Xbox One X because in reality there is a new Apple and Samsung phone every year for $600+. Granted the Xbox and a smartphone are two different devices but it's the same principle. A new and improved version of the hardware that runs the same apps you been using. If people want that, then let them have it.

Beat the Battlefront 2 campaign. Never going to play that again, ever. It wasn't the worst singleplayer campaign I ever played, but it's certainly one I only bothered with for the credits.

I was going to wait on the X1 until they had some deals. Then BB decided to give me $300 each for my 2 slim 360 units. Upgrading was a no brainer. 

I wasn't planning on getting an X1S until flippageddon and then a trade boost on my VCR X1 made it a no brainer.

I can wait for an X. Maybe never. Maybe on a glitch. I don't have any 4K TVs and I am far from a graphics snob... It's just not worth it for me - even though I have more than enough flippageddon credit to pay for it entirely...

With all this talk of X1X and Black Friday around the corner, it has me thinking of upgrading. Not necessarily right away, but eventually. That said, I have a 720p and original X1. Which would be better to upgrade first? I'm thinking the TV, as I could at least experience 1080 until I get the X1X, but looking for other opinions.

@Jess I don't think either of those have "true" HDR" but outside of that are solid TVs. I would recommend looking into the TCL since It's cheaper and offers near same level colors and input lag but I could be wrong. I think the 43 inch TCL is only $255.

I don't have "true" HDR on my samsung from last year but the 4k picture and fake hdr was a big jump over my 720p TV as well.

YO SICK!!! Valkyria Chronicles is a lot of fun, it's like a turn based strategy game but you get to directly control the characters and they all have a limited amount they can walk and then do an action each round, I would suggest checking out videos, it's different but so fun!

TCL was one of the brands that got me first thinking about televisions thanks to their budget friendly price. Problem is, my entertainment center is only 32 inches across. Looking at specifications, I see the stand separation is 30 inches. If it's from outer end to outer end, it'd be close but could maybe with. If it's only from the inner sides of the base, it may be too tight.
 
So I have Oblivion GoTY and hadn’t installed it yet but figured I would with it having X enhancements to check it out.

I understand that you have to install the DLC from disc 2 separately but can’t seem to get it to work. Bethesda has a page on it that says something about going to the disc app icon and hit install disc.

Maybe I’m just stupid but where the hell is the disc icon? There’s the Blu-ray app but that doesn’t work. And went under manage game and didn’t see the DLC as ready to install.

Anyone have a suggestion? Probably obvious but ...
 
Can't speak to the specific experience, but it should be on the home page. If you ever play any games off the disc, I'd think it's that same spot.

What would happen if you threw out that entertainment center and got a nice stand that let you have a TV size you wanted?

The reason for the size restriction isn't necessarily because of the TV stand, but instead because of the way my room is set up.

From door to door is somewhere in the range of 32-34 inches, so you can see there isn't much room to work with.[attachment=28732:1511150244834358046779.jpg]

The plan is to have the TV overlap into the closet space. Removing the door isn't an option since I don't own where I live and highly value my privacy.

I was also limited by space. Problem was alot of 4k HDR10 TVS started too big -50" and above. I was also limitted by height because I had some wall shelving above the space where the TV would go. And the bigger they got the more they got ot of my price range. I ended up getting a Samsung MU7000 as there was a 40" version which fit inside my current space constraints. The Samsung MU6290 or MU6300 might also be options. I didn't choose the MU6300 because the HDR was not exactly HDR10, although some people in the thread have had success with the Samsung 6 series. When comparing the picture of the MU6300 side-by-side with the MU7000 I clearly preferred the MU7000.

The MU7000 was originally out of my budget range, but worked because I got BB to price match to Amazon, had some BB GC'S acquired from game trades, and some BB rewards certs. All in all it dropped the out of pocket expense from $700 to $350. Then I'll sell my 32" Samsung series 5 that's a few years old to cover another chunk.

Be creative with your deal hunt, make sellers compete against each other for your business, and you should be able to find something that works.

I had issues initially with this, as well. The fix is that you have to install the full game from disc 2 and disc 2 only. If you've already installed the game from disc 1 then you need to uninstall it and then reinstall using disc 2. If the DLC does not pop up right away then play the game a bit, quit, pop out the disc and the re-insert; that should trigger the DLC to begin installing. Hope that helps.

I'm intrigued, but then I remember I haven't even played the first one still and I own it. Hopefully if I get around to playing and beating it the game will be under $20!

 
I finally decided to buy Alan Wake: American Nightmare, along with Darkstalkers Resurrection, Poker Night 2, and Blue Dragon.

The only things left I want are Forza Horizon 3 and Bioshock Collection.

 
Marvel's Punisher on Netflix is good. Watched the first two episodes and I'm hooked. Thomas Jane & Dolph Lundgren will always be the Punisher to me but Jon Bernthal is doing a pretty damn good job atm.

Yeah, the trailer mentions and shows the Blitz battle system:
