Is there anyway to update or refresh the recent posts in your profile? Its showing my last post is October 28 and nothing since then which is really driving me crazy. Is there a way to update it somehow or keep it from tracking posts from years ago if I've reached some sort of tracking limit?
Nope, I think CAG crapped out recently.. I noticed it too

Destiny 2 already 35% off... but I hear it's pooping the bed. Don't even think it's worth $40 fake Blizzard monies.
It's 40% off on GMG. Not sure if that's the best deal on it, but I noticed it after browsing all of GMG's shitty deals. Too bad it doesn't stack with the voucher.

That's a TN panel. Unless you mainly play FPS and similar fast paced games I would advice not to buy it.
Dont knock it till you've tried it ;)

Once you've calibrated it its almost indistinguishable from an IPS. Ive used multiple IPS at work and this one at home and its extremely hard to tell the difference, and many others have said the same about this monitor. Besides good luck finding an IPS with 144hz and gsync in that price range, that was one of the points, if you want 27 in at 1440, and the gaming portions, then its great

I would love to see all of NWN1&2 hitting Steam (and GOG, too) with all of their content.

Nice to see NWN1: EE coming w/ the last 3 BioWare Premium Mods, too - you couldn't buy those anywhere at retail or digitally outside of BioWare themselves, until now. That content and bumping up UI to 1080p or 4K sounds like the real reasons someone would buy this.
I could never get into NWN1. Unlike Baldur's Gate series or the classic Fallout, NWN1 seemed like a glorified mod editor that fed its existence and subsistence on a mixed bag, amateurish, disjointed community-made campaigns and Electronic Arts expected to its users to pay premium for these campaigns.

I gave up after 3 hours. Dragon Age, on the other hand, was a masterpiece.

Can someone tell me what the appeal was?

Belgium declares that random loot boxes are gambling and will try to get them banned in Europe.
Hawaii is working on it too

The State Of Hawaii Investigating EA For "Predatory Practices:

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2017/11/21/the-state-of-hawaii-investigating-ea-for-predatory-practices.aspx?

tl;dr "the state of Hawaii is going to be investigating legislation banning games like EA's Star Wars: Battlefront II from being played by young children, both in Hawaii and possibly pursuing it on a national scale."

You guys better save up those PUBG crates and keys before they're banned.

Frankly, the ability to take any pen and paper D&D module and turn it into a digital experience was a huge at the time... The original NWN is considered by a lot to be one of the weakest that Bioware ever produced. The two from the Expansions are far superior.

Honestly, the NWN package that they are talking about could be a day 1 buy for me if I can find it for under 20... All the others I've waited for sales. (Note: I'll wait for sales but that collection is pretty amazing.)

Reservoir Dogs just got removed from GOG. Apparently the company behind the game is going out of business.

There is a high likelihood that this game will get removed from steam as well sometime soon.

You're literally the only person I've ever seen use those terrible head explosion things.
you losers have zero taste in quality items. Its all about gold moth hats and matching gold dosh glasses. There is a secret achievement

in the game called FABULOUS!!!! when you wear this combo and it gives extra xp to your character just because you are so cool.

So I finished the single player campaign in Forza Motorsports 7.  My total hour count is 137 hours according to www.TrueAchievements.com but I messed around a but so call it about a 130.  I ran long races instead of normal length so it could be done quicker but higher level AI makes long easier (you're really racing the distance on normal length races as you almost always start about 11 012 deep), gives you a better payout, but means you're spending more time playing it.  (For better or worse)

I had one crash in midrace, that was the boot up after windows patched (Normal windows patching seems to be a far bigger issue for Window 10 games...  I guess MS just makes those games run too "close" to the OS), and my menu crashes seem to be fixed with the last patch. The midrace crash never happened again (its been the most recent crash) and the frame drops that seemed to lead up to it have been resolved by changing the audio from dynamic to medium. (I almost wonder if the dynamic settings are the issue, like the game doesn't quite release all the resources it was using when it changed for whatever reason...  Meaning you might be looking at a crash at some point...  Granted, I rebooted before it got to the crashing point.)

Money is still an issue...  At least in regards to how quickly you level up.  I just ran 12 laps of the full circuit of Nürburgring (15.2 miles a lap) and earned 1.4 million credits.  Which is allot but I leveled up so many times that I would likely have needed 3 million to buy all the cars I got offered while leveling.  (Now you can also take a 50K payout or a driver suit but I would prefer the cars... but I'm going to start making more choices as I got about 24 levels of bonus to "buy out".)

Oh and I had no frame drops during the 12 laps at Nürburgring...  That medium sound over dynamic fix really does seem like a fix as that was a an hour and 50 minutes of racing.

In other news, only slightly less crazy, I guess I got a current gen console now.  I got an XBoneX since newegg got some more in stock and MS has had some good sells on the 3.5 Forza games I missed out on.  Undoubtedly, its less likely to be the popular choice for console in this thread but I don't see those Forza's ever being ported over to Windows 10, nor Halo 5, and frankly I would like to play them all at some point... and would want to play Halo 5 before 6 comes out (which I assume would be on PC also) so its was an easy choice for me to make.

One of the only single character D&D games available at the time, unlike the party based D&Ds. Ability to play through in many ways, e.g. stealthily. The 64 player servers were also a big deal at the time.

Sure, I loved Icewind Dale, but I played through NWN like 3 times. Once as a ranger, once as a sorcerer, and once multiplayer. They were very different all three times.

I am with you agentghost.  As an avid Baldur's Gate fan I didn't see the appeal of Neverwinter Nights whatsoever.   But I've also never been interested in RPGmaker games or player created content.

Funny thing is, I liked NWN and Icewind Dale, but I never really liked Baldur's Gate as much. I guess I care less about the story than the actual gameplay mechanics.

And thats nothing new. The propagation time is longer and longer with each sale. Summer took hours to propagate fully.
The painful part is watching the discounts applied and removed, applied and removed over and over. Don't add anything to your cart unless you see a guaranteed glitch, and even then, it will probably revert back to retail price multiple times before you can pull the trigger.

the steam awards nominations are back.  There are 4 levels to the badge that you can get through nominating, playing, and reviewing.  currently, I cannot finish nominating in each category as I am encountering an error message.  I think like the prices, wait and it will resolve.  honestly, I cannot get excited when the prices should be the same (or even better) for the Winter sale next month.

Anyone else's "Defies Description" award nomination broke? Can't nominate anything in that category because it wants you to enter a category name......

It's difficult to think back to how mind-blowing Baldur's Gate was at the time.  Sure there were games like Wizardry, Dungeon Master, or Final Fantasy. (And all the text based PC games that came before it.  Before some dinosaur waltzes in here) But Baldur's Gate was the first time we received modern D&D in video game form!  It had fully fleshed out worlds complete with voiced NPCs, sidequests, and random travelling companions, in the actual D&D universe!  That was unlike anything we had ever seen before.

Since the turn of the century all sorts of games have been adopting, deriving, and homogenizing the successful systems of Baldur's Gate so much that we have become desensitized and disinterested in them.

Which leads me to an interesting question.  Who developed the very first game using the paper doll screen character model with full-body animated  and changable armor and weapon slots, a-la Diablo/Baldur's Gate drag and drop style? I wonder who can take credit for the original loot-based (c)RPG.   It has its hands in so many games these days.

Ultima 6 was 1990 but I'm sure there are examples before that. The Bard's Tale games had full item/armor slots although it was a text-based interface.

There's only one correct nomination for The "The World Is Grim Enough Let's Just Get Along" Award...

I'm not that interested in it, but Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Digital Deluxe for half off is a shockingly good price for such a new game.

Destiny 2 on Blizzard's shop is $39 or $68 w/expansion pass.  I am not feeling the love for PC gaming prices lately, particularly from Steam.  Other sites are beating Steam on game prices i.e. Wolfenstein TNO for instance.  Also, Doom is currently on sale on Steam at $15, while console players were able to get the game recently for $5 (yes, from redbox used).  Far Cry 4 with season pass is still $30 on sale from Ubi and Steam (supposedly was at $15 at one point).

Yes, we were spoiled with Amazon Tony and the early days of Steam sales.  Currently, I think we are at a point were Steam (really developers as they set the price), EA and Ubi simply look at sale prices with a meh attitude.

Finally, at least for now, I big "REALLY?!" to Blizzard - I had Starcraft 2 first 2 campaigns, but not Legacy of the Void (yet) as I was planning to try to buy at $10 this year.  SC2 went F2P with players that had bought Wings (first campaign) getting a bonus and the second campaign free.  No option to buy on Blizzard's site Legacy of the Void currently unless buying the campaign collection at $40.

Congrats to Fox with the prepurchase of Far Cry 5 with the zGold.  I have not even tried that route, but Far Cry 5 is one of the few games that interests me that I would consider pre purchasing.
