RIP. I preordered the game with the expansion pass and I'm pissed that I'm forced to play the expansions because I already paid for them. (I know I can choose not to play them, but then my hate and rage would be uninformed...)

so anyone having the issue only use the edge app for the points this month so you can get an extra 100 mobile search points a day

If you're unhappy with D2, tell me what game you find way better? I'm looking for some new games to try.

Please don't be boring, redundant, and unoriginal by beating the dead horse named "What Bungie did Wrong in D2" who's been drawn and quartered having had his remnants spread across the internet for all to view.

For players who are dissatisfied with Destiny 2 (and/or Destiny 1 for that matter), is there a game you'd recommend that is superlative to D2? A game you think met your ideals and falls in the same genre as D2.

Essentially, I've had some fun with D2. But if there is a game (or games) that lacked the failures of D2 or did something D2 didn't do, I'd like to know about that game. I don't want to think more of something because I've limited my perspective via lack of experience.

I'm afraid my lack of gaming experience may cause me to have a more positive view of D2 than I should. This may be comparable to people who don't have a passport and have never left the US but think 'Merica is the greatest country in the world.

Essentially, I've had some fun with D2. But if there is a game (or games) that lacked the failures of D2 or did something D2 didn't do, I'd like to know about that game. I don't want to think more of something because I've limited my perspective via lack of experience.

I'm afraid my lack of gaming experience may cause me to have a more positive view of D2 than I should. This may be comparable to people who don't have a passport and have never left the US but think 'Merica is the greatest country in the world.

If you played destiny 1 throughout its time and thoroughly enjoyed it and realize it wasn’t a perfect game then come to play destiny 2, it just feels like the sequel has lost its identity and what drew its veteran player base in. Not to beat a dead horse down but the cash shop has all the loot even if it’s cosmetic. In a loot based game, it’s kinda unacceptable. In other games where there are cash shops that are shared world shooters with a loot aspect it makes more sense. Curse of Osiris added no new loot to existing vendors and in that time everything has gone to ever verse. Just seems really greedy of bungie. The dawning event shows a lot of how bungie handles things.

Please don't be boring, redundant, and unoriginal by beating the dead horse named "What Bungie did Wrong in D2" who's been drawn and quartered having had his remnants spread across the internet for all to view.

For players who are dissatisfied with Destiny 2 (and/or Destiny 1 for that matter), is there a game you'd recommend that is superlative to D2? A game you think met your ideals and falls in the same genre as D2.

Having played it for a month now I can say I enjoy it. There are some issues with it though in talking to other more 'serious' players. D1 would offer Raid specific loot. Apparently D2 does not. Eververse sells mostly cosmetic stuff (Which personally I don't care about). Other then the fireteam medallions (Which just give you extra XP) I don't believe she carries anything that isn't just cosmetic. I know they dicked around with the XP and stuff but that was before I really started playing.

I don't really bother with the Raids very often. I guess one of the biggest issues is people love the shaders and other cosmetics and hate that you can pay for it or keep playing and maybe never get what you want randomly anyway.

In the last week or two it does seem to be dropping less Legendary and Exotic Engrams.

The Division. I know some of you may laugh, but they have had many updates, with the latest, update 1.8, dropping in December that expanded the map area and added new games modes (horde-like PvE Resistance, PvP Skirmish), among other things. They also have Global Events every month+ to two months with modifiers that change the way you play the game. If you have the Underground expansion, they have made huge improvements to that as well.

I played this game on day one and took a break when most people stopped playing due to lack of endgame activities. But the developers kept improving and working on this game and it is amazing. Ubisoft has been hitting it out of the park, imo, with how they've supported Rainbow Six and The Division, and the recent release of AC: Origins.

I tried to play The Division a couple months ago and didn't really care for it. I was playing Ghost Recon Wildlands (lots of fun) with a friend on PS4. He had played a lot of the Division when it came out and had a decently high level character. Not sure what it was but after a couple hours playing with him and another hour or two solo I just didn't care for it. I enjoyed Ghost Recon Wildlands a lot more. I played one of the DLCs but not the other. The one with the monster trucks looks pretty dumb.

Wildlands is good, too. My friend was similar to you; he joined me for a bit in The Division, but didn't really get back into it. Not sure if it applies to you, but in his case, he was overwhelmed by all the gear sets that you can collect and felt too far behind compared to me. Even though I hadn't been playing, I'd been keeping up on this game. Collecting gear is actually fun (unlike in D2) because the bonuses from each gear set fundamentally changes the way you play. Do you make the enemies bleed from your bullets or blow them up with your bombs? Snipe them from afar, or rush them with your riot shield?

For me, it scratches the itch to get good loot, and unlike in D2, the loot actually matters in this game. (Plus the world is amazing in this game. The attention to detail and the life-like re-creation of NYC!!!)

So, as part of my futile effort to make some sort of headway with my backlog this year, I've decided that I will finish one game per week. I can do more than one, but no matter what I'll beat one game each week.

I have a number of Telltale games and shorter indie games that will help me out when I'm busy, and I'm going to try to chip away at some stuff that I've been meaning to play forever in between.

Through GWG and sales, I now have all of the Assassin's Creed games but Origins and I'm working through 2 now. The only one I've ever finished was the first one, so there's no time like now, right?

 
So the Kinect Adapter prices are going crazy. Lowest I've seen so far is around $100 used, all the way up to $250 new.

I opened my unit to test it out for a day or two then put it away.

Gonna sell it on Ebay

I can't believe I am tempted to get Skyrim, even though a) it was cheaper during the BF sales, and b) I have it for PS4 and Switch.

 
Happy new year CAG gang, just got back from an extended Christmas break.  Still catching up on the thread, and have a couple things to post, but here's hoping 2018 is another great year of gaming.  I'm guessing this year will bring Xbox VR - already building up credit in anticipation.

It was with a heavy heart that I uninstalled all 107GB of Gears of War 4. Most of my friends hardly ever play it anymore to begin with.

According to Xbox Live, I invested 169 hours in the game. After 3 re-ups and getting all the characters I wanted. I think I can call it quits after nearly 15 months playing it.

Now the slow and painful wait until E3 when Halo 6 has to be announced.
