Just starting a thread for deals for the Playstation VR.

I picked up the Core bundle off Amazon and I'm looking for a cheap camera and move controllers.

I found that best buy has some cheap playstation 4 cameras on sale for 39.99 with free shipping.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-playstation-camera-for-playstation-4-black/8245153.p?skuId=8245153

If you all know any good deals for move controllers or launch games, let me know.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood (PS VR) $15.99 via Amazon (Prime Price). https://www.amazon.c...heapassgam08-20

Just posted a new thread for it but I’ll post here too. Newegg has the Skyrim bundle for $350 with free shipping. Since most people don’t pay tax either that’s a pretty sweet deal. Use promo code EMCXERP29

first I am hearing of Job Simulator being rare - pretty sure I have a brand new copy - anyone interested?

Will verify that its not a gamestop "new" copy.
Robinson The Journey is also starting to get expensive, but I don’t suspect it will ever be as expensive as Job Simulator, simply because Job Simulator was only realeased in the US.

I think Psychonauts and The Invisible Hour will also end up being pretty valuable soon.

Wow, this is such bullshit. Amazon and eBay are astronomical. They never went on sale during the digital sales either. I could never see myself hunkering down full price for these. They aren't even rare or import games.

I got Psychonauts for $10 and Invisible Hour for $15, so I guess I should count myself lucky.

It's weird that Robinson The Journey has never gone on sale on PSN. Seems like Crytek doesn't care about pushing it any further after the release was not eventful, but at least Job Simulator has gone on sale.

Job Simulator on the demo has pretty poor controls IMO.  Like I had trouble powering on the PC reaching down to push the button.  Just based on the control from the demo I wouldn't want the full game.

My understanding is that they never patched the demo, but did patch the retail version (I've honestly only played on vive)

Edit: I just remembered one more little VR related thing to rant about. The Farpoint bundle didn't have a USB cable to charge it and I see it has a slot for a wrist strap, but it didn't include one of those either. I thought I was cheap, but that's really cheap.
New DS4s don't come with a cable, why would this be different?
I don't really see the need to use a wrist strap with it anyways honestly.

I certainly don’t care about a wrist strap for the aim controller, but I agree that it should come with a usb cable. And I don’t accept that DS4s don’t come with one as an excuse. I think they should come with one too. I find it ridiculous that the sell accessories that require a usb cable to charge but not include them with purchase. I didn’t expect the Farpoint bundle to come with a cable, but I still think it should

Yup, it's a pain in the damn ass to charge the DS4 and both Move controllers with one USB cable. I've already thrown plenty cash their way, I refuse to pay more for something that should be standard with plugging in/charging your controllers.

Wrist straps are for pussies.

---

EDIT: Speaking of pussies, I just played the Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour teaser (which I learned is a standalone demo) in VR, and it was the most stressful, terrifying experience ever. I really want to play Biohazard (the detail is incredible), but I don't know if I could handle it throughout for that length of time.

Do yourself a favor and give it a shot. Being able to peek around corners and even see more through a window are truly an experience I loved. One of my favorites on the vr so far. The scare factor is cranked way up even if you have played through it normally. I jumped quite a few times and played through it really slowly to take everything in. It's scary but in a great way. I would recommend fooling with the control scheme. It took a little for me to be comfortable with the turning and moving until I found a setting that was right for me. JUST DO IT!!! haha

RE7 in VR is one of the best video game experiences I've had in probably the last decade.  I definitely put it up there with GOTY for me in 2017 next to Mario Odyssey.  I still have not finished it yet (just got VR around Thanksgiving) but if I had to guess I'm probably like 75% through.

As mentioned above, the game is flat out scary.  But in a great way.  The game is somewhat stressful to play due to this.  Like if you are into horror movies you will absolutely love it.  There are MANY times where I flat out don't want to do something in the game or get goosebumps but then truck along knowing that something is going to scare me, and it either does or it's a false alarm.

I have found myself talking myself out of having a session of the game sometimes because I know it will be stressful/scary.  Or I'll play another game.  But then I will finally just suck it up and play and it's so awesome.  I played for like 90 minutes yesterday.

If the demo you played is the same as the Kitchen demo and you thought that was stressful and terrifying, then you are in for a treat if you play the full game.  The demo had noticeable quality issues as far as graphics went and the full game looks noticeably better.

I played the Kitchen demo and crapped myself, but Beginning Hour is actually a separate standalone game (I think it acts as a prologue?). I spent about an hour going through the house and trying to find the various endings before I had to go back to 2D and finish it off.

It's funny because I'm a huge horror buff and hardly anything scares me, but just BEING in the game really does something to me. Especially when you're helpless with no way to defend yourself. (It was the same way with Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul where all you have is a flashlight.)

I'm so pissed off at myself for not jumping on it last month when Amazon had their price error. It was only $20 for the Gold Edition (!). I don't know when I'll ever see such a drastic reduction again. It's certainly one of the best-looking VR games I've ever played.

The End of Zoe and Not a Hero dlcs are fantastic as well. Neither are as scary as the game itself, but both are really fun. Not a Hero really shows how great a FPS can be in VR, even without the aim controller. I love the in game helmet display, it really helps with the immersion when wearing the VR headset.

Interesting I have never heard of Beginning Hour.  Is it something worth checking out after playing through RE7 or will it be pointless?

I also want to state how much good headphones make a difference in immersion.  I went to play RE7 yesterday and my over ear headphones (the Turtle Beach 350 VR or something like that) were out of batteries so I had to charge them and played with the ear buds that came with v2 of PSVR and damn, the difference is night and day.  I didn't feel nearly as scared with the in ear buds because the sound was just lacking any type of punch.  There's literally no bass with them too.  Something busted through a wall right infront of me and I didn't even flinch because it just sounded weak.  And the over ear ones I have are nothing special or anything but they are decent and make a big difference.

It's definitely worth checking out. You're probably over it by now (might not seem as scary in retrospect) but it's a fun little experience which also seems to have a little overlap with the Kitchen demo (not sure how that plays into the main game). There's also a secret item you can obtain that you're able to transfer to your RE7 game save (which I'm guessing is too late for you).

I've just been using the ear buds that come with V2 and they've done the trick for me. Can't afford any other peripheral right now so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

Just noticed The Inpatient is currently in store only at Best Buy and no stores within 250 miles of me are allowing orders.  Amazon still has it in stock to order though so hopefully this doesn't turn into another Job Simulator situation though.  It does seem like newer VR titles are getting printed in much smaller runs than the initial batch of VR titles were printed.  Reminds me a lot of 3D Blu Rays now in that regard.

I would think this would be a pretty big release. There seems to be a lot of hype around it, but maybe companies are being more cautious with how many physical copies they produce?

I am REALLY looking forward to playing it myself. I can’t wait to see how well the voice recognition works and if it really adds to the immersion or not.

That’s not a good sign.

As much as I wish I could play The Inpatient during its debut week, my wallet just doesn’t have the constitution for hefty retail prices. I wonder what the length will be. Comparable to Until Dawn?

Does Redbox carry PSVR titles? I can’t remember the last time I used their service, but I might be willing/desperate enough to try.

I agree with the hefty retail prices. I used to only buy physical and never really looked at the PSN store for an outlet to buy (dumb I know). After I realized how good of deals can be had going digital I have been buying more digital than physical. I was one if of the ones that had to have the copy right there to look at. However, like you, my backlog has grown out of hand lol. I am not sure why I always wanted physical...was it the fancy artwork, the disc? its not like they still pack any printed materials for me to take a look at anymore. I have found a way to have a little of both however. I can still have my physical but save all the money by going digital.

I bought a large lot of empty blu ray cases and have decided to print out artwork that corresponds to the digital game I have. I crop it down to case size, cut it out and slide it right into the case. I even have a section on my stand dedicated to digital games. I find it fun since I can pick the artwork and its like having the physical copy of the game right there. I know it sucks up my time but I find it fun and its a fun hobby. When I actually have time to play I can scan through my backlog just like the old days by looking at them on the shelf. Hell I even pull the case out even if its digital and put it beside me when I play.

And that is my randomness for the day

Is this on their web site? I can't find it.

I looked up a review and the guy claims that a playthrough is about two hours long. Given the length and the fact it's a VR title, I can't imagine the price holding at $40 very long, so I'll be waiting. Unfortunate, since Until Dawn is one of my favorite games.

Slower day so I figured I would ask.  I have read some articles and looked at some videos but wanted to ask you folks if you have experience on any of the following.  I am looking at these for the next time they may go on sale.

1.  Dino Frontier-  Looks like a pretty neat title for VR and I have read some ok articles about it but it appears pretty generic.

2.  The Lost Bear-  This is the one I have been looking at the most due to the art design and playstyle but wanted to see if anyone has played it and how the VR is in it.

3.  RollerCoaster Legends-  Fairly newer game but I enjoyed Rush of Blood and the setting of this is pretty cool.  I have heard it is short but for the price I am not expecting too much.

Any info is greatly appreciated and like I said, I am waiting for a sale but would like to plan ahead.  The lost Bear looks the most interesting and I have some extra funds in my wallet so would probably get this one first unless you guys tell me its awful.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

Any info is greatly appreciated and like I said, I am waiting for a sale but would like to plan ahead. The lost Bear looks the most interesting and I have some extra funds in my wallet so would probably get this one first unless you guys tell me its awful.
Thanks in advance for the feedback
I haven’t played any of those, but I’ve read good feedback about The Lost Bear. All the reviews have been great but I think it’s really short. I definitely plan to play it at some point.

I won The Lost Bear in a Reddit giveaway and I really like it. The VR is well-done but it's not as immersive as RE7, etc., the game takes place with you sitting in a chair and basically watching (playing) the story on a stage in front of you. But there are moments where things on the stage interact with you; for example the lead character knocks down a bee's nest hanging in the air and then bees will come towards you and fly around in your face. Anyway, it's a cool side scroller and I would have been happy if I paid for it, definitely worth $10 or less if it goes on sale.

I saw The Inpatient at Walmart today but when they rang it up it wouldn't let me buy it since it's not supposed to come out till this Friday

:(

I used to only buy physical and never really looked at the PSN store for an outlet to buy (dumb I know). After I realized how good of deals can be had going digital I have been buying more digital than physical. I was one if of the ones that had to have the copy right there to look at. However, like you, my backlog has grown out of hand lol. I am not sure why I always wanted physical...was it the fancy artwork, the disc? its not like they still pack any printed materials for me to take a look at anymore.
Dude, I was right there with you, up until last Christmas. I had always paid slightly more for physical titles because I just like to own the disc. It feels more tangible, like it's mine. As it stands, I now have about 100+ digital titles (acquired since Christmas...*shudders*), but it doesn't really feel as satisfying. For one, every time I beat a game, I have to delete it from my hard drive. So it's like it's not even mine anymore. Honestly, I should have just switched to a subscription-based service a long time ago, like Gamefly. The only thing that keeps me buying games is my OCD. But I'll never actually have time to go back and play a game twice. There's simply not enough time in the world.

I looked up a review and the guy claims that a playthrough is about two hours long. Given the length and the fact it's a VR title, I can't imagine the price holding at $40 very long, so I'll be waiting. Unfortunate, since Until Dawn is one of my favorite games.
Two hours...that's what I was afraid of. I think $20 might be my tipping point. I don't want to regret passing it up for that price, like I did RE7...

Dino Frontier is on Demo Disc 2. I've never been a fan of strategy sims, so I got bored of it before the allotted time was up.

The Lost Bear looks great. Dammit, another title for my future backlog.

I don't know about Rollercoaster Legends, but Rollercoaster Dreams had the most worthless VR demo ever. You can't do anything in it. You're just wandering around the park, unable to ride anything.

Thanks for the review. It seems like a unique experience, and that's what I always strive for in VR.

Doesn't it come out Tuesday (1/23)? Looks like I'll be playing Batman Enemy Within Episode 4 that day, anyway.

I finally got around to playing Arizona Sunshine. Told everyone I was going to leave some thoughts on it here along time ago so here goes.

- I played on a PS4 Pro and found the graphics to be clear and sharp. They weren't high resolution, but they weren't blurry. In other words, the graphics aren't amazing, but what you do see, you see clearly.

- The game is fairly short and can probably be completed in about 3 hours. There is a wave-based "horde mode" available as well to add a bit of replay value. I already like it better than Brookhaven, simply because you aren't confined to a single position and can actually move.

- Whatever patch they implemented, works. I played through the game with the aim controller and the scope/headshots are smooth as butter. I didn't notice any jumpiness or shaking issues when aiming like when the game 1st released.

-  There are a variety of weapons but they mostly all feel kinda similar and generic. I wish the guns had a more authentic sound and more realistic recoil effects when you fire them. As it is, they all feel like you are shooting a .22 squirrel plinker.

- The character's in-game dialogue will probably be annoying to some, but I found it fairly comedic and didn't mind too much. It's going to come down to personal preference.

- Yes, you can change the options in the settings to allow for full locomotion if you don't like teleporting.

I paid $20 for this game and I feel that it's a decent price for what you get. I probably would have felt a bit robbed if I had payed the full $40 retail price but if you can get it on sale it's worth a spin. It feels like you are living out a decent low budget zombie film, due to the isolation and the setting. If Dead Rising or Dying Light are the equivalent of Dawn of the Dead, Arizona Sunshine feels like a single episode of the Walking Dead.

My store only got 2. If that's all they are sending then that's why most of them will show as unavailable.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. I also picked it up when it was $20 but haven’t been motivated to play it yet. Maybe after I play through the Inpatient I’ll give it a go.

This is great info, thanks. I also got it on sale and will now play with Aim knowing it should take a few hours to complete.

Ever since Doom, I guess this needs to be asked when the AIM is involved... Left-Handed support?

The Beginning Hour demo was HUGE when it was first announced, had an on-stage presentation and everything. Odd you've never heard of it.
It even got consistent updates adding a bit more content each time to keep drawing players back to it.

I didn't really know anything about VR until mid-November. I had absolutely no interest in VR and thought it was a dumb gimmick until I demo'd it in the mall at the MS store just randomly. Then I was completely sold.

Heh, I’m the same way. I pushed it further down my backlog because I thought it would be a longer game, but 3 hours is the sweet spot right now.

This is exactly why copies go on eBay for $100+. Only 2 in stock on the release date? What a bunch of hirsute shit.

Edit: That was a typo, but I’m leaving it in.

Still on target.com

Man I've been saying $60 is my price point I will cave and get this just because of the hype it's getting, but I have like 4 unopened VR games right now and I'm still not done with RE7 so I'm not jumping 100% on this yet.

Doom VFR is one of those games I haven't opened yet and got it from Amazon for $20 last week. Is that game best played with the Aim controller? And what about if you're left handed?
