Okay, anyone interested in getting a deal for Heavy Rain or any of the numerous other games on sale exclusively in the UK store can easily get in on the fun. I just make a UK account and got a ten £ card and now my typing is all fucked up from copying the symbol.

Anyway, I got a ten-pound card for $13.59 from cdkeys. Paid with Paypal and delivery was instant. No tax on the UK store, so Heavy Rain cost less than half current US price. I'm downloading the game now...
how much?

What the hell Best Buy... why hasn't the price of Shadow of the Colossus dropped yet. Wanna get in on that GCU action.

I'm so petty... I know it's only $4, but not being able to get SotC for $16 GCU has convinced me to just hold off for the inevitable $10/15 BF price, rather than buy from GS.
Yeah, dude. Considering I still have ICO/SotC on my PS3 backlog and Best Buy is being a Bitch Buy (I don’t have GCU, but I’d take the $1 off pickup), I think I can wait until Black Deathday to buy it instead. I’m almost 100% positive it will list for $14.99. (Someone quote this message in 5 months.)

Think I might have to go pick up one of those Steel Black controllers. Love the way they look. I’m down to one controller since I spilled bear on my other one and got the buttons all sticky. :(
I was at gamestop yesterday buying the green camo controller and they offer a no questions asked replacement for $5 so I took that aswell.

I would highly recommend spending the additional $50 to get the move controller and Skyrim VR. Skyrim VR is a much better game than Doom.
Thanks for the recommendation, but I already have move controllers and Skyrim VR. I just wanted to upgrade to the new hardware so I don't have to keep swapping cables for HDR passthrough.

Do tell!?
From what I gathered Sony wants a larger cut of each game sold, which doesn't work well for Amazon who currently offers 20% off pre-orders. So they're no longer collecting pre-orders on any first party ps4 games. I believe some digital sales have been cut off, too.

Do tell!?
I don't know the details of it but many high profile sony games like god of war and Detroit were unavailable for pre order leading up to release and with the end of GCU unlocked at Best buy many have speculated that the dispute could be over the 20% pre order discount Amazon offers which could be leading to Sony not providing other items to Amazon as a way to strong arm them. All speculation though, could be a number of other things. Nintendo had a similar dispute with Amazon a few years ago where a lot of their items weren't available for a stretch of time.

Does anyone still get the $1 off offer at Best Buy if you switch from Shipping to In-Store Pickup? I haven't see that show up for me in ages.
The game has to be in stock at your default store (indicated at the top of the BB page, if you're not getting the offer, look to see where it is in stock and change your default store and you'll get the offer.

Ended up getting Horizon Real Edition for $3 in the end. Traded my vanilla vanilla disc only to GameStop for $12 and got the complete game at Best Buy for $15 after GCU and in store pick up. Slapped it in the steelbook and NOW it’s a real collectors edition.

No SotC sucks, but I'll give it to Best Buy - ordered GoW, HZD and HZD Complete around 1pm yesterday, picked free shipping, delivered at 11am today.  That's impressive.

how much?
Heavy Rain dropped from 25 pounds to 10 pounds for the sale, so it was for the cost of the card. With another 10 pound card you could get Planet of the Apes Last Frontier (6.75 pounds, I think) and that stand-alone Last of Us expansion (2.50 pounds). The other thing I was looking at is the Batman Telltale bundle, which is 12 pounds. They didn't have 12 pound cards in stock, so I would need to spend around $20 for a ten pound card and a 5 pound card. Me still debating.

Is the vanilla Horizon Zero Dawn still on PSN? I own The Frozen Wilds digitally, so I figured I would pull the trigger on the actual game and be free of one more disc, but I can't find anything but the Complete version on the website.

Steel book? Was that a preorder item or something?

Bought 3 copies of vanilla Horizon with in-store pickup at one store ($21 + tax) then went to a different store and traded all 3 for $37ish.

Also at that 2nd store I picked up my in-store pickup of the Complete Edition for $15 + tax.

Good day.

I took advantage of the discounted Skyrim VR bundle. I’ve been spending most of my time with Thumper. I haven’t tried Skyrim yet.

Could have just worked an extra hour at Mickie D's, my man.

Target didn't have either version of Horizon Zero Dawn today when I went in to price match for the vanilla version, and since Best Buy is too far away for in store pickup and I don't want to buy $30 worth of stuff to do free shipping, I'm gonna pass on the game this time. Kind of disappointed, but my backlog will sustain me. Weird that Target didn't have either version of HZD in stock though.

But.... romeo said sony could easily put it back up.... he promised... lol
You are talking about a guy that kept telling me it wasn't delisted even after he couldn't show me where on the playstation store where you could buy it. He doubled down.

He switched to talking about some secret Amazon special re-print of the standard version and rerelease of the original digital version.

He also promised us the CE was going to be 29.99 cause Sony Europe blog said so.

Even though I pointed out on the Sony USA blog and commercial that it would be 19.99 in the USA. But again since I'm American it was fake news.

I personally don't have the cash to spend on VR right now, but as a person who has been gaming for about 25 years, its the first thing to get me really excited about gaming since HD gaming was introduced.  Maybe I'll be able to pull it off on Black Friday

I’m curious who you’re referring to. Like the infamous words or shaggy... it wasn’t me.

yeah, not you. was in this thread quite a few pages back.

The vanilla version is NOT delisted. Just look it up at Amazon and you'll see Amazon lists that version as coming back in stock on ... JUNE 8.

A coincidence? I don't think so.

The Eurogamer article actually references the CE at $29.99.

But hey, if you're into that whole love for fake news, believe what you want. That's what Americans do best.
This Romeo...

i cant for the life of me figure out where the games are in the VR Playroom Game. just the claw machine at the beginning..........which I cant use because I have no coins......and you get coins from playing the games............which I cant find.

don't bother with PSVR. I picked it up today for a price mistake at Target, set it up and regretted it. The resolution was so terrible (I missed playing game on my 4K HDR OLED TV) that I could describe to you as being surrounded by 1 giant CRT monitor. The image quality was so blurry that it took the immersion out.

I tried all the demos on PS Store as well as the Skyrim VR. God, that was the fugliest Skyrim experience I have ever had. It just like playing Skyrim at the lowest setting with the lowest fps.

This generation VR is a gimmick (same goes for the Occulus and HTC Vive since they are just slightly better but 10x times more expensive). I think we are 10 years away from a good VR experience.

Grabbed the Skyrim psvr bundle. Holy shit this thing is cool

I did the same but got my bundle from Newegg since I don't pay tax with them. Even though I have a Rift I am excited for these different games. Enjoy it VR is pretty neat.
Cool, welcome to the club. We could use some new recruits in the PSVR thread. Just wait until you get into VR porn...!

I have to agree about the "being surrounded by a giant CRT monitor" effect. It takes some getting used to. Make sure you adjust the eye-to-eye distance in settings for the best possible clarity (you eventually stop noticing the blurry/fuzziness as your eyes focus, and some games will look sharper than others). There is definitely a ton of room for improvement, but I'm happy with what I've explored so far. It's kind of like the days of 8-bit Nintendo, you get to enjoy the evolution of VR from its humble beginnings. As long as we keep supporting the medium, it can only get better from here.

Have you tried the Rift/Vive? It's anything but a gimmick.

Also Skyrim on Rift/Vive is a night and day different experience than PSVR. For one, you're not limited by the 180 degree FOV. PSVR is very good for console VR, but PCVR is much better. It's also not 10x as much, Rift bundles can be had for $400, Vive bundles can be had for $500. And there are WMR headsets for $200 or so.

I agree,

Now I have yet to experience the Playstation VR headset, but as an Oculus Rift and Go owner I can definitely say that it does not look like any CRT I have ever owned. I also have a 4K HDR TV, but there is really no comparison to the 3D field of view that the Rift and Steam VR games provide. Between the two storefronts, there are plenty of good games and experiences to play. Not once have I been distracted by resolution while playing Lone Echo, Arizona Sunshine, Superhot VR, or Elite Dangerous.

It's not perfect, but VR has improved over the last year and is beyond the gimmick perception to those that have experienced it first hand.
