Note that date may be of confirmation, and not of drop.

I went back to a store that didn't care about me buying penny guides. Just to check if I missed anything. I found 2 Pokemon Pokedex HC and 1 Final Fantasy XV CE Guide. That FFXV guide is going straight to ebay.

Are you serious? That is exactly why penny guides have become so strict. This is specifically why they aren't given out.

He listed it too. It's easy to locate the store where it was purchased from and make sure he isn't offered anything again. I'll be sure to report his auction as well.

 
That crap is exactly why penny guides have nearly gone from existence. If you don’t need or know a friend who does, don’t take it.
 
Gamestop never “allowed” penny guides. They’ve always destroyed them. We sometimes just get lucky.

Best Buy penny guides were ruined by IATCG. It had nothing to do with reselling. They weren’t supppsed to be selling them, anyway. They were just too lazy to mess with them. Now, they hardly carry guides, anyway.
 
Shout out to Romeo ! Was traveling for work and near two GS so figured I'd look. Funny thing is they didn't have the SC Snes book but the HC ones instead :D

Stopped by GS near work to pick up some Pokemon codes, ASL said upper management told them to not display these guides out in the open anymore.

Yeah, I’ve noticed many stores hiding the guides in the storeroom now. You can’t sell what you don’t have on display. So guides go from full price to pennied out and most people wouldn’t even know a store had them in stock in the first place.

they got rid of those spinners cause i remember there was this glitter joke in CAG forums many years back. something about pushing them on the floor and throw glitter and run out.

 
Not sure how long ago it dropped but I found a Metroid Samus Returns guide on the shelf yesterday. The associate seemed a bit clueless as he happily sold it to me for a penny.    Stores in my area still have guides out so if you know what dropped off the site, give the racks a quick scan and you may get lucky.

What state and district is that video recording in? Does anyone know the specific store or stores he is getting the guides out of the garbage at? I specifically told the publishers this is why the stores absolutely should SEND the guides back to the book publishers because the stores don't destroy them like they're supposed to. I will be using this guy's videos as evidence when I send more proof that people are still getting these guides somehow. At least the penny guides themselves have dried up, but if there are other means of people getting these guides then that's a problem since they're not meant to be sold or given away. I would love to get that douchebag manager fired at that location for not destroying the guides and merchandise before they are thrown away for gross negligence.

I tried to buy a couple guides in store for that 50% off sale. The guy said they didn't even have guides anymore (think he was new; hadn't seen him before). Oddly enough, the website showed them as available for pickup at that same location. I guess they're hiding them so well, even the new employees can't find them.

 
I'm really surprised the drops are so few and far between now. Also I'm noticing stores aren't carrying guides or 1-2 each. There are some nearly a year old that haven't dropped yet.

From the last drop, with CoD WW2 & Destiny 2, if anyone has CoD hardcover sealed I can trade a Destiny 2 hardcover for it.

 
After giving up on finding it in the wild, I got a tip from an amazingly knowledgeble GS employee for The Witcher 3 HC 20 miles away. After over 40 miles round trip and the 9 GS's in between(4 of them with the "This Gamestop is being recorded for your protection" as I opened the door. It's been a good week, have to finish up some surveys.

The extras are up for trade. I'm looking for any Zelda hardcover (except spirit tracks/hourglass/winder waker)

I just noticed that one of the my Best Buy's stopped carrying guides (have not been in one in over a year). Probably because they don't sell and have finally realized that. I think GS are not carrying that many guides, for the same reason, to begin with anymore to begin with to drop, maybe a GS employee can confirm that they are carrying less guides.

Guides don't sell anymore at Gamestop because they seem to keep all of them in the back room now. Kind of hard to sell guides when many customers - including those most likely to buy them - don't even know that the store has them in stock.

HC SNES is pennied. Thats what you really want is the HC one, Just picked that one up an hour ago . Cover art makes it look like a giant SNES cart and the sleeve cover makes it look like an OG SNES box with it.

Oddly enough, I am having a hard time finding a 2nd copy of that. I'll keep you in mind if I find a 2nd.
