Didn't someone (maybe Bloomy) mention getting "Influence" on Forza Horizon 4 for watching it on mixer. I'm watching it now and don't see where it shows I'm getting anything for it.

Are you signed in with your Microsoft account? Below the video, you should see a little ribbon next to "Forza Horzizon 4". If it's there, you should be earning influence. If you've been in the stream for more than 5 minutes, you should be able to click on it and see how much you've earned. I'm up to 319k.

Does it work when you watch on Xbox. I don't see a banner at all, been on some dudes stream for about an hour

I don't remember what they said in the Forza forums about it. I've just keep a stream up on my PC while playing Xbox / watching TV. I check it every now and again to see if it's still up. If not, I switch to another stream.

Yes, I just started watching when Bloomy responded (so a bit over 15 minutes?). I'm on my console, signed into Mixer on my account. The banner shows up above the chat, right under your gamer picture. It said i earned 1000 influence. I'm not sure if the banner stays there the whole time though or if it just pops up when you earn influence.

Edit: The banner is on a timer. I just watched it pop up (I'm up to 1500 influence now). And then after a few seconds, it disappears. It doesn't stay on screen the whole time.

Guess I’m one of the lucky few who has no issues mentioned in the article. Not sure why you’re so determined to prove that PUBG sucks on the X1X, but it doesn’t for me. And honestly, I’ve always been in the camp that as long as a game is fun, then a few hiccups here and there don’t bother me (ie. Telltale, Bethesda, etc).
 
Not actually sure when I will get to playing Syndicate but I might just buy the Season Pass. I don't think it will drop below $9.90 unless I decide to buy it. So you're welcome.

For those of us who got 3 months of Mixer Pro from E3, the billing section of my profile says it expires in 2 days.  It says "Redeemed via code", but I think it was just applied to my account.  You might want to double check that you have autorenew turned off.

Silly me for assuming battlefield 1 and 4 had local split screen. I wouldn’t have gave them a dime. On to googling if the recent call of duty games are like this as well, but can anyone recommend a good split screen shooter?

Yeah, it’s Halo MCC that has me in this jam. New update no bueno. It’s reassuring COD is still on point, and I think borderlands was recommended here once so I’ll grab that on the next sale. Thanks for the reply.
 
Blackout is fun, I get why ppl like it but it's not for me. I don't care for PUBG or Fortnite either. Blackout is full of ppl teaming up in solo mode too which makes it even worse lol.
 
i thought blackout was pretty fun, but i think it depends alot on your lag, like i picked up a level 3 armour at the RAID map location and immediately died from just two bullets. another game i never ever got hit and actually made it to #1 and it showed 0 kills for me despite killing 2 or 3 (on one i wasnt sure as my teammate might have gotten the kill).

however it lacks personality and the stfuf that made black ops 2 fun like gadgets, uavs and all that. plus having to go to start menu for items is a bit dumb.

might get it if they bring it standalone for $20 and more interesting maps :)

anyway i got a question about rewards, maybe someone can help? i redeemed a 1 year gold code just fine, but whenever i try to get xbox credit it gives an error about something wrong with account or order, so i thought maybe i am shadowbanned however i can still buy donations so i am not banned. is there any other ways to spend your points because it says somewhere in the rewards menu you can buy 1000s of things but i only see the same 12 things.

and people keep talking about a hot deal, where do they actually see it? it never shows on my account.... like i read in a rewards forum now its 30% off gift cards til mid october, which seems pretty nice, however where does this show ?! :)

I see 46 total. Wherever it says 1000s, it might be referring to stuff you can buy with gift cards. Redeeming Xbox credit no longer gives codes, it deposits directly into your account. Maybe there's something wrong with your account on the Xbox side that wouldn't be affected with other kinds of redemptions.

The current hot deal is on Skype credit. On the page I linked above, the Skype option has a yellow banner on it indicating it's the hot deal.

 
yeah i counted its actually 13. no matter in xbox or at pc, or if i am in euro region, us region... it just shows these 13 items and none is highlighted or discounted (except for level 2 discount). i had a problem with the 12 month gold code at first too but after a day it actually worked to redeem it. however now ive tried several times with the account credit, or another gold sub and it just wont work, only donations will work.

will contact customer service if it doesnt resolve itself, thanks :)

I got a cheap used copy of No Man's Sky with store credit the other day. I don't know if it's a game I want to keep playing. I enjoyed it and could sink a few hours into it in a single sitting but the repetition and time to put into it to feel like progress has been is off putting. I played for 4 hours and feel like I may be maybe half way through what could be a tutorial before it leaves you to do whatever.

May return it and work on the back log until next month when games start coming out. Maybe it will be cheap enough on the black friday or countdown sale.

I felt the same, though shortly after reading it in, I read that it really opens up after the lengthy tutorial.

Did you happen to hear anything from MS on this? The app on Xbox doesn't seem to be processing that I've completed the offer, and I still don't have the 10 days of logging on to Live, even though my son plays various Lego Star Wars games after school every day.

As I understand it, there should be a blue ribbon under the Forza Horizon 4 (influence farm) of that guys stream. It's suppose to show up there, but it currently is not showing for me. But I'm still earning the Mixer sparks. So I figure it must be glitched for me. I'm still doing it for shits and giggles, however.

The blue ribbon actually showed up for me, I clicked on it and it told me I got awarded 1,500 influence, so I guess it works, Thanks!

Did it only show the first time you clicked it? I clicked the ribbon didn't see anything happen. Clicked it again and it opened and closed. Clicked it and tells me to open the game to see rewards or something.

Not a big deal but figured I would get in on this if I could.

 
None of the influence shows up for me. I've sat there and watched for 5 minutes. There's supposed to be a pop-up to show you that you earned some. I haven't seen any yet. Or if you reload the stream or change streams it's supposed to show you. I don't see anything. But I can also just keep a the stream up at work just in case it works. If not, oh well. If so, yay.

Or if you reload the stream or change streams it's supposed to show you. I don't see anything. But I can also just keep a the stream up at work just in case it works. If not, oh well. If so, yay.

I'm up to 4,500 influence, I am using the Edge browser. A pop-up comes up every 5 mins showing what I earned, Hope it works for you

 
I actually went and started a brand new Mixer account on my alt XBL account. It doesn't seem to show me earning influence on that one, either. Thems the breaks, I guess. It's not like I'm not going to put in 200+ hours on this game like I did FH3.

 
Been watching that guy since last night.  Guess he figured out a way to keep his stream up without doing donuts with rubber bands on his controller.  Up to 430k influence.

When you first load a stream in a web browser, if you click on the ribbon, it won't show your influence.  If you've been in the stream for over 5 minutes, long enough for your total to update, then it should show your total influence.  If you hop streams, you need to wait 5 minutes again.  There might be a separate timer keeping track behind the scenes, so if you leave one stream at 4 minutes, you might only need 1 minute in a new one, though I'm not certain.

Some people have reported getting their total stuck in the display.  Not sure if it's still updating behind the scenes.

Is there a upper limit to how much influence you can get? I am up to 12,000 so far thanks to you.

I have no idea. Seems Bloomy has over 300k. A few people in the stream chat say they have 100k+. I guess just let it ride. My stream still doesn't show any progress. I've tried different browsers, clearing cookies. I've also unlinked my xbox account and still it shows nothing. I'm hoping it's just a bug.

 
Off topic: Does anyone have recommendations for good routers, preferably not too expensive, that can cover three floors (basement to second floor)/2200 sq ft?

Orbi but it's expensive. To cover a 3 story house you will have to get a quality expensive router.

One guy that posted on the Forza forums over the weekend that his influence was stuck at 260k just posted in the stream chat that it finally showed up and he's at 381k now, so it was tracking behind the scenes.

I struggled for YEARS and tried tons of different routers and extenders and finally tried the Netgear Nighthawk router. It has been amazing in speed and coverage. My home is very large, but only one story. I had a lot of dead zones or slowing down in areas and now the coverage reaches every nook and cranny and even extends outside a good distance. I can't say enough good things about it.

Honestly, though, I probably would have gone with a mesh system if they had been around when I got the Nighthawk since that sounds like it would be better, but i'm glad that wasn't an option. Also, at this point, you can probably get a really good deal on older versions of the Nighthawk.

All that being said, I don't know performance differences between a multi-story home and a one story home, but I can tell you that my square footage coverage area needs are larger than what you're referring to.

I'll 2nd the Nighthawk recommendation. Get the one with directional antenas so you can place it an a central location and adjust according to your needs. I use it in a 2 story home and have zero deadspots.

Well I'm glad its not a hotshot sale that I cannot resist. I'm going to lay low for a bit. Two things happened leading up to this week: car broke down with what looks like a costly issue; and, I lost my job.

Forza looks good but I'm going to stick to the demo for right now. It's been a long time I haven't gotten a FH game day-one; but, it is the sensible thing to do. I'm also returning any unopened games, if I still can.

 
Still can’t believe that swinging through wild kingdom quest isn’t fixed yet.

And now the other quests on the Xbox app aren’t getting the check mark after I do them either cmon son.
