Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Yep. I had to read a few different things online and I'm still effing lost. Still going to play 3 until my fingers break

That’s my understanding as well. Kind of odd for a series with Mickey Mouse to be so confusing even adults don’t get it. Lol

I played both main games and none of the side ones and watched this video and I’m still lost.
The story was never what hooked me, it was the combat and how creative each Disney themed world is. Each world had its own story and problem to deal with. Could care less about the main villain who’s time traveling ghost dopplerganger shadow reincarnation wants to rule the universe. Still going to pickup KH 3 and see how they end this tangled knot of a story.

Yeah, the story in KH is needlessly complicated, it's worse than MGS. I played the original and loved it when it came out, then didn't play another until the 3DS game. The story never made sense, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Speaking of PS2 RPGs, those of you who missed out on Final Fantasy X previously are in for a treat when it comes to X1 later this year. I forgot how great the battle system is, lots of good strategy for what looks initially like a pretty standard turn-based JRPG. I loved it when it originally came out, and the remaster is really well done.
How can anything have a story more convoluted than MGS?

And FFX is getting bundled with FFX-2, right?

MGS in the very least is centered around two Snake's and you can at east follow their journey. Now imagine several universe's along with countless prequels, timelines, amnesia, and ever expanding characters and MGS has nothing on Kingdom Hearts. At least with MGS it is somewhat grounded in reality (nano machines? Sure, whatever), but Kingdom Hearts is so convoluted no matter how many times I try and get back into the games (planning to start them all again this year just because I hate myself and by the time I'm finished I'm sure Kingdom Hearts 3 Royal Edition will be $20).

I am losing it, waiting for the pre-order of FFX/X-2 to go up. I've rarely pre-ordered a digital game as soon as I can, but this will be one of them. All of the free promo credits that came out a few weeks ago will be put to excellent use!

If you like physical games I think Target is doing a clearance sweep. My Target almost always has bad clearance stuff but they were scanning and stocking a bunch of stuff today. I left while the guy was still working on it but I left with Dishonored Death of the Outsider ($5.98), XCOM2 ($5.98) and L.A. Noire ($8.98).

My plan to not add to the backlog lasted 6 days but anything under $10 is hard to resist and I will buy most stuff at $6.

Nomura and Kojima must have a running bet, because they are neck and neck in terms of being convoluted and nonsensical.

And yes, the FFX remaster is bundled with X-2 as a single package. I hated X-2 back when it came out, but I may take it for another spin since I own the remaster now.

I won't buy it at MSRP but will probably double-dip on Xbox One. It's one of my favorite FF games.

The way they've done Hitman is so confusing to me. Is there any reason whatsoever that I should play the Hitman 1 missions within Hitman 1 or am I correct in assuming it would be better to play them within Hitman 2? I've apparently done whatever was needed to make that possible and I care absolutely nothing about achievements if that matters.

It's just so hard to tell if everything from Hitman 1 is is fact accessible through the Hitman 2 client even though that's how it looks at first glance.

Might just use that video to prep for KH3 or it may be 2025 before I get through the other games. Lol

I don't think MGS's story is that convoluted as long as you play all the mainline games and use the Codec/Radio a good amount. It gets pretty insane during MGS2 but that all gets explained in the same game. Admittedly you get a kind of rough start in MGS1 since Metal Gear 1 and 2 didn't come out here until like 8 or so years later, but it didn't really get that confusing until late in the series when people kept wanting explanations for the supernatural elements so we got nanomachines and parasites in 4 and V. V is the overall worst offender but at least part of that is due the the development issues the game had leading to it being unfinished as intended.

Kingdom Hearts is a mess for a lot of reasons, but I think the fact that multiple teams and leads have been in charge of the series is a big issue, especially since ALL spin-offs tend to be canon and this has been going for 17 years.

Yeah besides achievements I think your good to go just inside Hitman 2 they imported everything story wise over. There maybe one very minor detail now that I think about it with mirrors. Basically in Hitman 2 mirrors actually function so you can be seen in them, they pretty much teach you that lesson in the Hitman 2 prologue. I don't know if that fact ports over to the Hitman 1 missions now or not, I did a lot of bad business in those Hitman 1 bathrooms.

There's a point in playing Shadow of Mordor where you can send death threats to orc chief's in the game and all I can think when I accomplish this is I'm just sending them mean DM's on Twitter.

So- my company just laid off myself and the rest of the department (ecommerce), effective immediately.
Pros: no longer commuting 5+ hours, time for playing through my backlog
Cons: I have to find a job so I can support my family. And I started to cut alcohol to drop weight

2019 comes out swinging.

#sidebar: 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' is pretty fantastic. Highly recommend it
Hope you find something quickly and that you got some kind of severance to lessen the immediate blow.

Whats the playing order for life is strange?

LIS

LISBTS

captain something

than the new one?

Just downloaded them last night haven't jumped in yet
I'd go LiS -> BtS -> Captain Spirit (optional)-> LiS 2

There are supposed to be somethings that you do in CS that can or will affect the LiS2 world but I skipped it entirely myself. That said, only one ep of LiS 2 is out with the second ep out later this month so you might be able to squeeze in CS if you chose to.

5 Minutes into that video... and I'm completely lost. Glad I have not played the previous games, cause my brain is already hurting with the cliff notes version.

So i'll probably just skip everything and get KH3, on sale.

After the latest update, all my gamepass games vanished.

They still seem to be installed because:
a) The count of installed games hasn't changed.
2) When I hit install on the games, it just goes from 0-100 in 2 seconds.

At least gave my game pass window a clean look now; I can now add the ones I intend to play. Not that it matters...
