It doesn't really matter anyway as those phone games pale in comparison to the real inhouse developed Nintendo games on consoles and handhelds. Mario Run is passable as an autorunner but is garbage compared to Mario Odyssey. The freemium games are pretty much garbage as far as I'm concerned. They may have some minor merits here and there but are mainly engineered to exploit those that easily get addicted to that stuff and start forking money out for it.

You're behavior is the reason I finally decided to start buying all digital wherever applicable. Not being able to trade something in if I don't like it really curbs down on impulse buys.

I just wish the DS Pokemon games were available digitally. The money I've wasted trading them only to rebuy it....

 
I was going to suggest making an EU account to take advantage of their sale, but I'm guessing you can't use NA eShop cards on an EU account.  Does it work with NA credit cards?

 
I'm thinking the stream tonight at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT will feature sub $1 games since there's not much else that I have on Switch that's on sale.

I’m an incidental GameStop flipper. I fully intended to keep Breath of the Wild every time I bought it, but I also got it on a various discounts each time, and I always found a way for GameStop to give me more trade in credit than I paid for it. There was a time there when they were giving insane amounts of trade-in credit for Switch games.

The insane trade credit for switch games is exactly when I traded some of my physical games for the digital version. And why I still have like $30 in gold coins atm.
 
I flipped the HELL out of my PS3, and a little early on with the PS4.When the PS4 games became the same old boring repetitive FPS over and over and over, I gave the ps4 to my wife and I got a switch, and I havent looked back since....

Since then, Ive not flipped a single, not ONE single trade...not even with the BBY+GCU+30% extra trade in bonus days, I just kept my switch games right where they are....

Now maybe that’s because i bought them all at BOTTOM level price, meaning nearly all of them were either BF deals or just deals in general, but nothing MSRP, so i dont feel like chasing the same deal again, especially when you are buying/playing a game when they are hot and still happening if you know what i mean

At the end of the day, I realize I’d rather keep the games I bought on awesome sale prices rather than waste my time chasing trade ins that I’ll just be rebuying

HOWEVER....for non-Nintendo cartridges , you are totally right - switching to digital and getting that trade in bonus

But is it just me? I love my Nintendo physical copies, especially if its the start pack or bonus/combos like Mario Party+joy cons...?
 
I’m still holding out hope that NoA has a similar big sale starting tonight, or maybe after the Nintendo Direct tomorrow. If not, I’ll just hope for a sale on BotW during E3 or Black Friday.

Cat Quest was an awesome experience.  I look forward to the second game whenever it comes out this year... I just hope it also gets a physical release.

 
If there isn’t a regular direct in the next 2 or so weeks, they will probably won’t have one until after E3.

I made a European account around launch, and tried to buy a game with my American debit card (through my bank). No dice. All the page did was error out and gave me an error code. Same with my Japanese account. I deleted my European account after awhile, but kept my Japanese account (for future Japan only exclusives, and demos). Funny enough, my American debit works just fine with my Mexican account, which I didn't expect.

My experiences with the games, Splitter Critters was the best of the bunch with Star Story: The Horizon Escape and Jumping Joe & Friends being the others that I also enjoyed.

Just picked up Sega Ages’s Sonic the Hedgehog on a whim... I’ve always been a Sonic 2 guy, but wow with the addition of spin dash and drop dash to Sonic 1 it feels like a whole new game. M2 is doing great things with Sega Ages. Now I’m thinking Out Run might be next on my list.

I pre-ordered a Sega Genesis Mini almost entirely because M2 is involved now. It went from "no way" when atGames was doing it to "Hell yeah" for M2. Their 3DS conversions are fantastic, I love the stuff they add to the games like new levels, etc..

 
Does Outrun (Switch) have any options for black borders or to stretch the screen to fit?  My switch dock is connected to a plasma tv and the borders the pics show would end up burned into the screen.

Anyone play Startide?  I played a game ages ago on ios that was pretty similar themed and enjoyed it.. just wondering if this is worth the $1.

1979 Revolution Black Friday -- I'm interested in the story and really like the presentation

The Mahjong Huntress -- I enjoy mahjong and for a buck before gold coins it seemed worth the gamble

Sabatour! -- Watched a video of it and though I didn't play the original back in the day, I think I'll enjoy it.. the soundtrack is great

You’re in luck, as M2 are masters of emulation! There are two versions of the game available, “OLD” and “NEW”, and the following display settings were available in both. You can do display mode “Arcade”, which gives you a 4:3 original ratio, or “Widescreen”, which gives you a windowed 16:9 ratio, though it’s not stretching the pixels, it’s just giving you a wider field of view to the right and left of the screen. With those display modes, you have at least 15 different wallpapers to choose from, including “None”, which gives you a black background. You also have a 3rd display mode, called “Full”, which at least on my 16:9 monitor expands the game screen to fill the entire monitor, leaving no wallpaper background visible. It’s just a magnification of the “Widescreen” display mode, so you still aren’t stretching pixels with this.

With retro titles, wouldn't it still be a problem since any static content can cause burn-in. Text like "score", "lives", etc that is always on screen? I know this was an issue with playing nes/snes/sega on rear projection TVs.

Not just retro titles, but any games ever made that don’t allow for a no-hud option in the settings.
