  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I feel like a single player Star Wars game should allow me to Fallout customize my character and then see him/her in all the cut scenes. Rather than “another white Jedi kid” which feels too done. Otherwise looks fun.

I think I would definitely prefer an action-RPG where you create your character. After all, a random survivor of Order 66 is the perfect opportunity for player creation. Even if it was more like Mass Effect with a structured narrative, I'd prefer that.

Still, Respawn has a great track record and this game looks really promising.

I think with the last 10 years or so of SW games LucasFilm or whoever has cared more about having a cinematic story with a totally canon lead character. If you go back 15 years or so stuff like KotOR and Jedi Academy had character customization.

That's always so frustrating. Call of Duty is bad with that too. Most games are where they should be but then some are listed just as "COD" and then the modern warfare games are under M. Wish you could just rename stuff or could make folders in the game list to sort stuff.
This actually gets on my nerves with sports games too. For example, EA will have some of the games listed like "EA NHL 15" and then the next year it's just "NHL 16", so they're not at all near each other in the list. Like...who the hell doesn't pay attention to how the game gets listed? Why wouldn't these games be side by side?

Call me part of the problem all you want, Fallen Order is a day one purchase for me and I will pre-order the most expensive version available because Star Wars.

Ah yes, we need a Black or Asian jedi. That would likely make the game 10x better and would reel in sales from both communities.

WeeeDoo continues to live up to the "Ignore" status.
He's being sarcastic, hyper-focusing on the word "white". That may or may not be true, but I don't think it's that important to focus on. This coming from a white "kid" at heart, so grains of salt may be necessary.

Glad I ignored the review scores and picked up Crackdown 3 in the sale. They really didn't change the formula much, but that's exactly what I was hoping for. The PC port isn't very good but luckily it runs smooth on XboneX.

I just dont understand. Doesnt enforcing the "too much white" thing get old after a while? WHY try to make characters a certain gender or race just to do that?

If it fits, it fits. You already have TONS of games that have non-white characters, including Mafia 3, Watch Dogs 2, Sleeping Dogs, and many others, all which are very good games. You also have many great games with white main characters too.

If they had a white main character in a game like Yakuza, then that would be a little too much.

Yes, a white person in a Japanese mafia game might be a bit unbelievable. A non-caucasian protagonist in a universe of mystical ninjas with laser swords that's literally filled with alien races as unlimited in number as a writer wants (as approved by Disney, of course!) seems just a touch more plausible.

In any case, dude is a good actor, so I'm intrigued.

I get that, but in this case you'd be making him non-white just to create "diversity".

However, as you said, game looks very intriguing. Not familiar with Star Wars at all (never seen a movie or played a game) but willing to give this one a try, especially if it is even somewhat similar to Mass Effect as some have said KOTOR was.

WTF is the harm of having a character creation tool that lets you choose what race and sex you want to be?

I keep trying to think of respectful ways to argue with you, but I'm failing. So ... have a good one.

I don't really care one way or the other, but we have seen some pretty shit takes from publishers about what they think will sell. Like they didn't want Ellie on the cover of The Last of Us, or that tragedy of a generic box art for Bioshock Infinite to appeal to "the masses" which I think leads to more complaints about a lack of diversity, and I don't think we can completely ignore how many generic main characters we've seen over the years that happen to look similar.

I'm not sure if that's really a fair assessment of Star Wars lately though, looking at Battlefront 2's protagonist at least, but I can see the want for options. Star Wars has a ridiculous number of cool humanoid aliens and Jedi are shown to be just as diverse, so it does kind of suck when we're stuck with just one option to play as in a game and that has been the case for the last several games.

All that said, if they're going for a specific story for a specific character like this, I'm fine with whatever as long as the performance is good. Respawn proved they can tell a compelling story with good character interactions with Titanfall 2 so I'm totally on board for this game.

I really wish they showed gameplay though, especially since Respawn/Infinity Ward has only done FPS games for the past decade.

Is there actually an ignore feature? I'm getting tired of his shitty posts in all the threads I read.
Go to your profile > Edit My Profile > Ignore Preferences. At the bottom you can type in someone's name and choose what you want to do.

Now if anything makes anyone block/ignore worthy, it's this right here!

I’m brand new to the whole mix pot thing. How will I find out if I got a free copy of kotor?
Navigate here --> https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

It will show up in your account in a few days if you watched enough of the show.

Glad I ignored the review scores and picked up Crackdown 3 in the sale. They really didn't change the formula much, but that's exactly what I was hoping for. The PC port isn't very good but luckily it runs smooth on XboneX.
Why buy CD3 though when you could just get Game Pass? It was a really quick completion

Seems like a real leap to expect this game to be like Mass Effect or KotOR. It doesn't sound like it has any RPG story elements so I imagine The Force Unleashed is probably the closest comparison as it seems like it will be linear, though I've seen some people saying/guessing an easy version of Dark Souls gameplay.

Hell, KotOR and Mass Effect are similar in their story telling and structure, but mechanically are very different games. A much better comparison is KotOR and Dragon Age Origins.

I'm expecting Jedi Fallen Order to be like Tomb Raider and Uncharted.  There might be some light RPG elements, like doing X to unlock this skill, but nothing as extensive as a real RPG like Skyrim.  And that also explains the no-character customization options.  The dialogue and cutscenes are set in place.  It's about telling a specific story for a specific character.  Not about you creating your own persona and your own story like Skyrim and Fallout.

It's probably more action focused and I'm expecting a lot of Titanfall-feel to it (you can see the wall running at 1:17 of the trailer).  Also in that same scene, notice the beams moving in and out of the wall.  Probably after this cutscene, it will transition to you having control of the character to do that platforming gameplay section.

Not sure how I feel about Joker being the actor.  Would've preferred a no name actor....

Here's what EA's press release says:

Players will use their Jedi training to create different melee combinations with an innovative lightsaber combat system and Force abilities. Players will also use traversal and other platforming abilities to strategically overcome opponents and solve puzzles in their path across this galaxy-spanning adventure. Star Wars fans will recognize iconic locations, weapons, gear, and enemies, while also meeting a roster of fresh characters, locations, creatures, droids and adversaries new to Star Wars.

I wish they showed gameplay, I assume we will see it at E3. This literally could have described The Force Unleashed 10 years ago.

All this Star Wars stuff is making me want to play a SW game. Guess maybe I’ll settle for Force Unleashed 2. Finished the first one but not the second.

It's really bad, takes the story in a terrible direction compared to the first, and feels unfinished likely due to being made during the death of LucasArts. You're better off with any of the recent OG games they made BC, or replaying TFU 1.

Quic question, was there ever a top deal on 12 Months of Gold on Xbox Rewards?
Yes normally once sometimes twice a year. They go quick, usually out of stock in a couple of days and you save about 5000-6000 points. I think the last one was like 23700 something like that in late December 2018. There might be one in mid-late June.

It won't be a quick completion for me. I don't have nearly enough time for gaming to justify Game Pass. Much better for me to pick up one game at a time and just buy something new when I need a new game to play. I would have been all over Game Pass if it was ten years ago, though. Great deal for those who have the time and desire to play a lot of stuff at once.

You’re probably right. Know it wasn’t supposed to be great.

Might just play some Battlefront 2. Do love that space combat. Just have to wait for the TV to be free. Damn wives. :)

I Started Monster Hunter World last night and it let me pick what kinda cat companion I want and name him. I Named him Toonces and then that's how I know we peaked in character customization so everything else doesn't matter anymore.

You basically won't know until you get a message on XBox or it just starts automatically downloading the game. One or the other will come before the other, but from my experience even if you watch five minutes or so you should have a pretty good chance of getting whatever the free thing is.

If you already own the game it is worth playing. Not as good as the first Force Unleashed Game for sure. The one DLC is interesting.

I'm not starting Monster Hunter till next month. Not falling for that xbox. Seems like every month for Game Pass Quests it uses the previous months added games for a lot of the quest. And I don't want to unlock any easy achievements.

Almost didn't complete Game Pass Quest the month Shadow Of The Tomb Raider was the headline because I almost maxed out the achievements the month before when they first added it.

Monster hunter world is really fun. I highly suggest you try out the different weapons since they all play very differently. I would even say once you hunt your first big monster I would redo it a couple times until you find a weapon that is fun.
