They say that the Switch Lite will function just as the normal Switch does in handheld mode, so unless they patch SMM2 then yes you'll be forced to use touchscreen for making levels.

I really hope this is the case. There are some rumors that this is in the works from a quote from Doug Bowser.

But Nintendo may be making it easier to live between two devices soon. "I could see this fitting into a household where there are multiple players... and one flagship Nintendo Switch," Bowser says about Switch Lite, adding, "Yes, you will have the ability to transfer between devices, your gameplay experiences. More to come there, but that is the intention." Maybe, when the Switch Lite is launched in September, we'll know more.

Fun fact.. you can play the minigame for a couple hours, accidentally pick the wrong dialogue prompt, and be forced to start completely over by a trolling minigame that doesn't let you save.

What's the best deal they have offered on Xenoblade Chronicles 2?  I usually prefer physical copies, and this game has only hit $35 on black friday.  Why is a game from 2017 still so expensive?

Same reason Zelda rarely goes on sale it’s a masterpiece probably the best jrpg on the Switch.
 
I’ve thought more about the Lite and I think I’m most tempted to get one to simply avoid joycon drift. Man the trouble I have with him in a house of kids, only to get everyone added to find out we’re now shifting to the right of the menu is maddening.

$35 for that masterpiece was an exceptional deal. It's $48.49 on Walmart.com and Amazon.com matched it. I think that's actually a great deal as well. In store at Walmart it should be that price as well. Best bet is to just bite the bullet and get it at the $48.49. You can go for a cheaper option with ebay, but it's not that much cheaper for a complete copy of the game. The other factor here is that I don't think they are printing more, so once it sells out it's probably done for good and the price won't drop but go up as this is truly an excellent game for it's genre. If you enjoy it, go ahead and find the best deal on the prequel XC2:Torna since it got a physical run as well.

Hmmm. I did glance at both. Membrane doesn't (visually) look good and with no trailer to see it in action it wasn't an instant buy for me. I'll look up online to see if I can see some gameplay. I know it's only $0.09 but still trying to not clog up my switch with crappy indie games I'll never play. I never really played Q-bert so I know that's just a case of me not being the target audience, looks solid for what it is though.

OK, watched a trailer of membrane's gameplay and it looks more than interesting enough to warrant a dime.

Damn, just bought this about a month ago from Newegg for $20 as a gift for my son. I can't be to upset though, as paying $10 more for not having to deal with GS, is probably the better deal anyways. LOL

 
the sushi game was part of a large thread of GS clearance prices this last week.  Amz matched on many titles, including this one.

My no-rush order hasn't shipped yet.  i'm still uncertain.  can anyone vouch for the game being worth $10?

I bought it for $10 based on what I played of the demo. I would recommend trying the demo before buying.

Demo includes lots of story and game play and gives you a good idea of what to expect from the full release.

Heads up, I was in walmart this morning and sure enough the tags for DQ Builders 2 are $49.94.   I was too early for the stock to hit the shelf but it makes me glad I cancelled my full price preorder with Amazon.

If you enjoy visual novel style games, it's one of the very best.

For me, I loved the original VN, then afterward tried watching it (and its sequel) as my first-ever anime experience. I enjoyed playing the game much more.

 
How does anyone feel about Saints row for 30% off? Wait/hold out? Usually gets cheaper much later right?

You should probably wait. Price aside, this version of the game wasn’t exactly solid when it launched a month or two ago, though I don’t know if it’s been improved since.

Having played a couple of hours of this one, I’m really liking what I’ve seen. Instead of the previous visual novel set-up, this one plays closer to 428: Shibuya Scramble, where you get text (and in this case voices) overlaid over stills and video footage. It makes it feel a lot more dynamic.
Since you aren’t familiar with it, you should consider how well you’d like a fairly long, text-heavy time travel story with an otaku-nerdy bent and not much in the way of player choice, but still a hell of a ride once it gets going.

Any clue when switch lite preorders go live? I want the Pokémon version bad

I see a lot of hate for the lite a lot of talk of losing features...but according to digital foundry it has the new Tegra x1 mariko chip...I had a lot of issues with my launch switch such as scratch gate, bend gate, joycons stopped attaching themselves to the switch..a lot of folks I know who have switches also have these issues. They don’t hinder performance but honestly the og switch doesn’t have that quality feel to it at least it didn’t for me. I mean I played Mario oydessy connected to the dock and my switch bend and my dock warped...who wants that lol

I’m excited to get a true handheld switch without having to worry about buying a $70 controller again or $80 joycons every 2 months. Would be cool if the option to connect to hdmi was available, or a 1080p screen. But you get more battery life at least...either way I’m ready to buy lol

tl;dw Smaller, more efficient processor, but no performance benefits, and smaller, cheaper battery.
I didn't know they were dropping HD Rumble and IR support. Seems like an even worse value now.
There's also some evidence in the video regarding a improved Switch model based on new 8GB dev units and a Nintendo FCC filing.

$20 still seems like a good price for Sushi Striker. It's colorful and fun. I've had an easier time playing with buttons than touch screen, but that's just me. Halfway through the second chapter, and it's getting harder than I would think. Still enjoying the flavor of the game (get it?), and damn if I don't want to go to a sushi buffet.

I played other games docked but the longest was Mario, had nothing to do with Mario. Switch heat from the system made the plastic warp

If you slide a penny on the edge of the your dock and it get stuck your dock is warped. Nintendo offers repairs on it but wanted you at the time to send in everything.

Learn to read Dekudeals and Camelcamelcamel better.

And learn to check if Amazon or a 3rd party is selling it. Amazon lowered the prices, 3rd parties did not. May have gone in/out of stock during that time, but it *was* PM'd with GS.

As far as the "Dock heat" issue goes, I never understood it... I've had the Switch fired up the past 3 hours playing. The dock is room temperature. I removed the circuit board and put it in a smaller dock case, it should be less heat dispersion than the insanely huge dock with a ton of empty space. The Switch itself is a little warm, and I even have a permanent shell over the Switch.

I bought my Switch 3 months after release and have never put it in the dock, always had the mini dock or USB-C extension cable instead cause of the shell.

My first console heated to the point where it caught on fire, so I sent it back for repair and they gave me a fireproof version so they said.
