I got completely lucky with my Gamestop pre-order. I wasn't watching for it and just happened to come on here right after they went live. I got an order in like a minute before they sold out. Shipping only, but at this point I don't care when I get them, as long as I get them.

The poster looks nice, but I just know there's no way I'm going to frame it and hang it anywhere so it would just be clutter in my house. Wanted to jump on the Mario posters too, but came to the same conclusion.

I was close to picking up Iconoclasts for $6.79 (new record low), but apparently it was a free PS+ game two years ago so I downloaded from there ^^; Looks good for the sale price if you don't already have it.

 
I wish the posters didn't have the 30th anniversary banner on the bottom. The three A Link Between Worlds posters were a better set of posters since there's no branding on them and each of the posters are varied in what they have on them instead of box art like the Mario collection.

Hoo boy, that Arceus gameplay was rough. I could hear the echo of the gears and cranks chugging those graphics along. But, I'm still interested in it, since I love the aesthetic and OMG CYNDAQUIL. Since it's a 2022 release, I'm confident the performance will improve (though, since this is Gamefreak, it might not be a huge improvement). Was anyone else sad how the player just kidnapped that Shinx, though lol its friend is probably off looking for it!

As for the Diamond and Pearl remakes, people are already complaining about how they look, and though there are valid criticisms to be had here (it uses a Link's Awakening style, but looks worse than that game did), I'm just disheartened that the fanbase will never stop finding things to complain about. Gamefreak is actually getting another company to help them, and the video emphasized that these were faithful, old school remakes, which is what we've all asked for, and immediately it's eviscerated online. I've dropped my fair share of criticism of Gamefreak and Sword and Shield, but I'm willing to see how this remake plays out because it could be what gets me back into Pokemon (along with Arceus' possible open world, another thing fans have begged for). Diamond and Pearl won't be out until late 2021, and Arceus comes out early 2022, so we need to wait and see before we just declare anything a failure.

New Pokemon Snap looks GOTY-worthy, day one purchase.

I'm very happy with the purchase. The configuration options on this game include rendering the whole scene including the cut-off bits from regular TVs and disabling any goofy filters. The game looks crisp and sounds and plays perfectly. Highly recommended.

There is even a save state so you can stop playing and resume later. Dope.

It's telling that GF had to outsource the remakes. I'm guessing this is due to their troubles transitioning to 3D HD development making their dev cycles longer (and maybe a result of (deserved imo) fan outcry about OR/AS).
The style of the D/P remakes also seems to point to this with the simplified overworld (as well as possible technical constraints).

I have my promo code for the pins but I can't successfully submit an order for some reason. I get a "There was an issue processing your transaction Call your card issuer or select a different payment option." message.

I'm so confused. I've tried 4 different credit cards with different billing/shipping addresses. I've tried using a different browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari). I've even tried creating a new Nintendo online account. I've tried to remove my saved payment info and added it back after too. I called Nintendo to look into it since Tuesday and they still haven't gotten back to me. Anybody dealing with the same issue placing an order for the pins this week? TIA

I'm surprised that they didn't just reuse assets from Let's Go or Sword/Shield for the entire game, but did for the battles?

I don't have a very keen eye for this, but that's how it looks to me.

The problem is I downloaded Twitter 5 days ago to get PS5 in stock alerts but I have only gotten a few notifications here and there despite following 9 different accounts and triple checking all of them are set up for sound and high priority in my settings and all have the bell active next to follow but I really don't get any. I am following Wario64 and today, I got 2 notifications from him, at once and it was from something 10 min ago and an hour ago. I have googled my problem a lot and have found no solution. I obviously missed the PS5 Best Buy drop earlier today as I was sleeping and my phone didn't get ANY notification from ANY of the 9 people I follow including Wario64. The only way can find out any new info is to constantly sit in front of my computer and randomly refresh sites all day long. Very frustrating but I just can't get twitter notifications on my phone to work.

 
I like the look of the Pokemon remake honestly. It reminds me of Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town Remake, but a little cleaner. Honestly one of those will be an easy buy as I didn't play that one. Arceus could be interesting and Pokemon Snap is a wait for deep sale for me.

 
I hadn't visited my Animal Crossing island but a few times since last summer. Started playing again yesterday and can't wait for the Mario items to release tomorrow. I'm all about those warp pipes.

They used to give these games in the lower tier away for free "if you already own..." about every three months, I guess Nintendo put the kibosh on that.

They still do that every now and then. The premise now is that since they are celebrating their 17th anniversary, the prices are 0.17 and 1.70 (you know, 1 and 7 XD). I have all of the free games they released before, but at this sale, I got Escape Doodland for 0.17 and DEX for 1.70. Well worth those prices imho :)

 
Gravity Rider Zero is a fantastic deal in that Qubic sale. It's a super-fun Trials-esque game, and the bit.trip games are a solid deal too.

I had a similar issue when I tried to order the NES and SNES controllers. The store is fuck ed up. You have to wait for them to fix it, but you'll be lucky to find a rep on the phone who understands the problem and can thus do anything about it. I tried to place an order once a week for about 4 weeks then it finally went through. Horrible for you since these pins are limited.

 
I'll throw out a mention for Akane, it's been my favorite out of all the free Qubic games I've gotten over the years. Just a simple wave based action game. It's endless (with a quick boss encounter each 100 kills) but you have quests you're working on along the way that unlock new weapons/equipment to use on future attempts. Took me a couple hours to 100% unlock everything which is the perfect length for the amount of content in the game.

 
It's well worth it to try demos before throwing money at a game.  In many cases this saved me spending money but it's also cost me money .. as in the case of Stella Glow on 3DS (tracked down a physical copy after playing the demo)... and Langrisser 1&2 on Switch (same thing).

Side note, I went ahead and DM'd Frisky about changing the name of the thread to "Nintendo eShop Deals & Discussions".   Though I guess I should have mentioned also nuking the OP and 2nd post content... maybe he'll read the thread.

It's well worth it to try demos before throwing money at a game. In many cases this saved me spending money but it's also cost me money .. as in the case of Stella Glow on 3DS (tracked down a physical copy after playing the demo)... and Langrisser 1&2 on Switch (same thing).

Side note, I went ahead and DM'd Frisky about changing the name of the thread to "Nintendo eShop Deals & Discussions". Though I guess I should have mentioned also nuking the OP and 2nd post content... maybe he'll read the thread.

See, I played the 3DS Stella Glow demo and regretted even bothering to download it.

Thanks that at least sheds some light on my issue. I've been attempting to place an order everyday since last week and I keep getting the same error. It's been really frustrating and no word from Nintendo Support either :cry:

I had this issue a few weeks ago and was able to figure out a fix. Permanently remove your payment method (either from a switch or the website), then re-save your payment method ( either on the switch or website) and your order should go through.
