I played quite a bit of Tainted Grail over 19 hours and beating it 3 or 4 times. This is a newer deck building game where you have a class you choose in the beginning with unique cards and there is a village eventually you can walk around and buy new cards and other items to help you on your journey. First of all the movement is janky as heck. It's similar to King's Bounty but a lot worse. You have candles which burn to not only see the map better, but also protect you and sometimes give you good cards for use in battle. There is a decent lack of variety in enemies. There are 4 main areas to go through each game, and 3 of them repeat the same enemies over and over within the same area. Each fight in the level generally has a person who can help, a place to search, or some other generally helpful thing. You can sometimes do stories and interact with them, which are tracked in the game when you complete the stories. The graphics are decent honestly. You can also collect a lot of things that can be used to upgrade your characters (gems for abilities and stats, as well as items for permanent unlocks. The sound is pretty good with decent music and good voice acting and action sounds. The card gameplay pretty much has you with 3 energy a turn playing as much as you can with cards between 0-3 energy usually. They attack, block attacks (one block cancels one attack), give buffs or just setup stuff for later in the turn or future turns. It's pretty good overall, though lacks a bit of variety as well. Cards unlock very slowly after the first few. You only seem to unlock cards for the classes you're playing as well. The game gets very, very challenging in the 3rd area and that is where most of my losses occurred. I feel that even though I believe there is over 10 classes, many are repeated in a way using the same cards but with different passives and ways they play. There are 4 archers, 4 summoners I believe and 3 fighters. They all play differently, but still feel similar because of the similar cards used in each class. I'm already a little tired of the game, but it was quite fun at first. I like the stories and feel the characters are OK enough, especially for a rogue like game. Everything feels a little slow and a fully accomplished run likely takes around 2 to 3 hours maybe. This is one of the better ones I've played in a while, but it feels flawed for feeling a bit too samey between runs and even classes. Still recommended discounted at least probably 50% off or bundled. 7/10

Finally liberated from Luna. Hopefully will be $20 like on Switch since Xseed tends to only offer tiny discounts these days.

But will it support the Dolphin bar?

Another game from the backlog Sin Slayers, and one word sums it up which is boring! The graphics are a little below average. There are sounds for things and they're OK along with the music. In this game you take 3 adventures who are different classes. There is probably about 10 classes in all. You start as a level 1 person and have 2 abilities which are very generic. In the game you move around a map and there are traps, treasures, fountains and other junk along with enemies. The characters level extremely slowly, and can only use 2 certain equipment for them which differ by class. You go around, try to survive and get items, and try to beat a boss afterwards, maybe doing a boring fetch quest. It's all rinse and repeat. Also the controller controls were pure garbage. You really should use a mouse and keyboard if needed. It was so generic and honestly using 2 abilities and getting in boring repetitive fights over and over leads to a boring cycle. This isn't even available to buy on Steam anymore, although they're working on getting it back, but it's not worth it. It's like a 5/10 game. Very playable and also very boring. Also I hate that when you move around in battle with the mouse the screen moves awkwardly side to side.

Did Smile For Me get removed from the Itch bundle? Bought it mainly for that, went to download it and it doesn't appear in the bundle anymore ...

Looks as though the issue is that it's only available as a Steam key (there is no direct download from itch.io for it) and Steam keys aren't compatible with the bundle unlock.

CONCERING THE PALESTINE AID BUNDLE:
Hi, we've removed a few comments that were redundant.
HERE IS THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO GET THE GAME:

Due to a miscommunication, our Steam keys aren't compatible with the Palestine Aid bundle. We didn't know that would happen before we joined the bundle.

If you are one of the people who bought the bundle and tried to redeem our game, we are going to be enabling key redemption for you. It will take a little time to enable, but within 48 hours you should be able to redeem a steam key as a Thank You for purchasing the Palestine Aid bundle.

Again, thank you to everyone who politely emailed us letting us know about this bug. Sorry for the confusion and the inconvenience. In the meantime, we hope you'll enjoy the other amazing games in the Palestine Aid bundle, and you'll have Smile For Me soon enough.

I don't know about that one, but The Framed Collection isn't even showing up for download even though it is listed.

Played Smile For Me after it was in a recent Choice bundle, game has a style and sense of humor that was right up my alley.

Also, Baba is You should be getting added to the bundle soon. $5 just for that would be a historical low.

Indie Bundle for Palestinian Aid

$5 minimum, 1000+ items included

Helpful Reddit post with link to spreadsheet of all included titles; also specifies games that are on Steam and rated either "Overwhelmingly Positive" or "Very Positive".
The games aren't automatically added to your library until after you visit the "Downloads" page for each game once.

Here's a tamper/greasemonkey script that will automate that process: https://gist.github.com/lats/c920866caf9c0cb04e82abba411e1bb9#file-claim_all_the_things-js

Finished Manhunter and I'll give it a C+.  Good foundation but the follow through isn't really there.  I mainly finished because I was legitimately curious to see the story end (I liked the cut scenes) and because it was so easy and rote that I just played it for something mindless.

Saw a new game on Game Pass called Solasta which I keep wanting to call "Solastra" because that would be a better name.  I knew nothing about it but it looked like a Euro-jank RPG and promised an authentic experience and, in retrospect, that's what got me to Kickstart Legends of Dawn so many years ago and look where that got me.  I fired it up and immediately noticed that it felt just like D&D 5e rules with the serial numbers filed off.  It had the same classes (though some cut out), same racial bonuses, same skills, etc.  Turns out that this was unfair of me because the developers got an SRD license from Wizards of the Coast so it's actually a 5e ruleset with the serial numbers intact.  This dedication follows through to including skills useless in the game with a tag saying "Hey, you can take this but you're not going to use it" which is kind of funny but also a little annoying when the class/race you picked gets those skills as a locked default instead of something useful.  I suppose their dream is that people will use their dungeon editor to make other adventures that use those skills?  Maybe?

Anyway, the game itself is... okay.  I guess.  It's Euro-janky indeed with bad voice acting and outdated character models and my dwarf's beard was sliding off his face.  The story is basic fantasy RPG fare.  But the characters themselves are okay and the game does some interesting stuff with the maps, with spiders scaling the walls and flying critters really using the Z-axis well and more intelligent AI than you'd expect.  And watching the d20 roll and your bonuses added gives it an XCOM lesson feeling that "I just need to roll over a 3 to get this... motherfu---".  But the main thing it has going for it over other isometric turn-based RPGs is the D&D 5e ruleset which it does better than the actual D&D branded Baldur's Gate 3. It's the closest you'll get to playing D&D 5e without begging to join a Roll20 group on Reddit and, what it lacks in human interaction, it makes up for in dodging the inevitable online game where some dude wants everyone to use his homebrew race of sexy mole-girls.  If you've always wanted to play 5e or you have/do play and like the idea then try it.  Otherwise you might be better off with the bigger names in isometric CRPGs.

No Baba Is You in the Itch bundle, just Super Is Hot instead (free game anyway). Kicking myself at missing $7 Lunar New Year bundle on Itch.

It had been rumored that Baba Is You would be added but I guess this was it. Was holding out hope I'd get something out of this after buying the bundle only for Smile For Me, which was removed from the bundle apparently seconds after I bought it (either that or they were listing it on the sale page after it had been removed from downloads).

Huh, so reading this carefully, this is only for those who got as far as "trying to redeem". Not for all of us who bought the bundle when Smile For Me was included but weren't able to get to the download page after buying it.

They sure made it sound like they were doing the right thing in the press release but apparently not so much.

FWIW, the developer posted Baba Is You in the community thread for the bundle, which is what devs have been doing if they want their games added to the bundle after it had already started. It's just that it's not an instantaneous thing and it takes a while for everything to get added officially.

Ubisoft now has a $10 coupon during their sale. Min is $15 purchase but it combines the entire cart using code FORWARD.

As an example,  you can get Farcry 4 + Farcry 5  for $5 after coupon.

has anyone experimented to see if the 20% from ubi points stacks (unlikely) or if the promo code is usable on multiple transactions for the same account?

Thanks. Would make Immortals Fenyx Rising $36 when buying base & season pass separately. Cheaper than the gold edition after coupon. But realistically I'll wait for the price to plummet further. This is ubi.
Normally I'd agree but it doesn't seem to be dropping like their other games usually do. At least digitally anyway. Physical copies already went to like 20-30$ range a few times. I picked it up for the nintendo switch (I can't recall from where weirdly) since It had good word of mouth.

that's right  ea,  call your new bf game 2042, not  to be confused with bf  2142,  which you made 15 friggin years ago. tbh i'm more interested the  future-y bf games than the oldie ww1, ww2 ones.

If you can beat it in a month uplay+ is running a sale for $6 for a month. It would include all Ubi games and expansions

Yeah good point. Though I already did a quick playthrough on console. That's how I know it's decent. Probably the best ubi game. Also probably why it's not tanking as quickly as Wash Dogs Legion and such

I mainly want to mess around with a botw style game on pc. Will buy the gold edition $20 or under eventually.

After the Trump presidency, they were just like "welp guess we're pushing up the timeline on that global war."

This is the base game only. Which doesn't make it a bad game (esp for free) but figured it was worth mentioning after the Humble Bundle debacle.
Only $7.49 for the Season Pass (for the two DLC's), which is a fine deal....given that they're giving away the base-game for nothing. You can basically get the whole thing for $7.49, if you grab the free base-game and buy the Pass.

Also, this game does work DRM-FREE style too, using the "-EpicPortal" target-line command.
