FAQ:
  • What is this thread? A massive collection of limited edition games & other attributing items, included with links.
  • Why put it all in one thread? More traffic due to collaborating interests.
  • Why is that important? This keeps the thread popular and doesn't risk a failed CE from falling through the cracks unnoticed.
  • What can be discussed here? Anything relevant to what is posted.
  • Why make another CE compilation? Karma.
  • Where are the big pictures? Still here, scroll down. Due to the increased number of CEs, a preface post is needed.
  • When is the Final Fantasy XVI CE? Not announced. Granted, IF it does, you can bet I will devote an entire page to it.
  • What about other CEs that have been announced? Give me a minute. It takes a bit of time to format the title, price, date, & retailer links in correctly.
  • What about the Book/Steelbook/Console/Misc. Picture Posts? I condensed the thread. Not necessary to include pictures for all those items. They will still be included in the Everything List post.

I'm kinda glad the Pokemon steelbook isn't pritty.  I paid that premium for Zelda and don't regret it, but find it hard to get excited over that one at those prices even if it is two games.

I think Amazon DE drunk, they doubled up the price of LiS True Colors + steelbook, €120 now

Edit: that's not the only thing got jacked up, FF7R Intergeade + steelbook is also got a price bump to €120.78

Import about to get very very pricey boys.

Do they ship internationally or is it blocked out?

Still waiting for those idiots who say Nintendo is "incentivizing" people to buy Pokemon games in Europe lol. Nintendo is literally giving steelbooks to these shitty companies for free as add-on bonuses and they turn around and gouge the shit out of people and make pure profit on them. No way Nintendo is unaware of this either.

Zero logical reason these steelbooks aren't included with the US release 2 packs as well.

Best Buy could offer steelbooks on day one but they know that Nintendo games sell just fine anyway. So offering much cheaper phone decals and golf tags it is.

I always find it hilarious when consumers think large multi-national companies are perfect hiveminds when it comes analyzing and sharing information. As someone who works at a large global consumer company involved in frequent product launches, I will say, no, there is no guarantee “Nintendo,” whether you’re referring to Nintendo’s head of global product marketing, who will be some Japanese dude whose in meetings 7 days a week, or the individual marketer responsible for EU territory-level promotions for this specific Pokemon release may know what these retailers are doing. It’s literally not part of their job description. Their job is to execute marketing operations and I’m sure you know, vast vast majority of people do not do things outside of their job descriptions. As for lack of consistency between marketing campaigns in different global territories, as common as sunrise and sunsets. Why? Different teams that don’t report into the same leaders.

I agree with what you said and that's my point, why are they giving them to Europe then (again, like Skyward Sword), they sell just fine there as well, the same as in the US. It's not like they're breaking into a new country / market where Pokemon is unheard of lol.

Give Europe Pokémon stickers too. Americans are going to end up paying $30-$40 a pop getting that steelbook from these European price gougers that are suppose to only be including them with the purchase of the game anyway.

Shoot, if Nintendo had any brains at all by now they would have special steelbook releases for most of their notable franchises and just make the money for themselves, they'd sell like stool softener at a gay pride parade.

Guarantee bargain bin in 8 month or less, best to wait, they're committing creative direction suicide

What's funny is that once Bungie split from Activision-Blizzard, the DLC expenses and the microtransactions became excessively predatory and widespread. After years of spinning it as if it was Activision who wanted to exploit the Eververse store. (in-game MTXs) Now they pose as a F2P game yet it's anything but.

Bungie is charging more these days and has way more paid options. People are paying more to play Destiny than ever before. It's also confusing as asdf just trying to google search and learn what versions of the game you need to buy. A la Carte pricing at it's worst.
Every leader is blamed for the mistakes of their predecessor.

I know it seems like the cool thing to blame Activision for everything right now, but Bungie made the game. They made 1 where it could only take so much new content. Then they made 2 with the same problem. They split to have creative control. After that split, they removed whole planets because they made a game that couldn't support much more content than the first game did and add more ways to pay them. I think Bungie has been at fault for the game's issues from day 1. I don't think they made the first game as good as they wanted, but didn't try any harder for 2.

Going F2P wasn't a customer friendly move. The game was under $10 for a long time. They just needed more people on the seasonal treadmill and still charge full game prices for expansions that need 3 season passes to keep up with the grind.

I love SRs 2-3 (4, I never got around to finishing) but I just don't know what they're doing here. I mean, I get I'm old and things are change, etc, but seeing this reboot just has me confused.

These promo items aren't always free for the retailers though. So either NOE is more willing to give it to them at no cost than NOA or the European retailers are not as worried about losing a bit of their cut to get people in their stores or on their websites.

Also, paypal has a $10 off at walmart coupon that makes the game+steelbook cheaper.  It was $78 for the deluxe edition.

Ugh, this looks pretty good, but it's hard to justify when I have a $33 PS4 copy preordered through Target thanks to one of their B2G1s earlier in the year.

I don't know if I should get it on PS4 or Switch tbh. I have 1 on Vita, 2(+1) on Switch, so obviously Finale should be on PS4, right?
I'm the inverse, I have 2(+1) on Switch so I grabbed mine on Switch. I'd recommend you go for PS4 since you can have the blue-border continuity

The Darksiders Genesis steelbook on Amazon has come back in stock a few times. It was in stock months ago and then they cancelled everyone's orders. I got mine today. It's just ok, but it was only 5 bucks.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GLGYYV5/
  • High quality collectible Darksiders steelbook
  • Useable with any PlayStation or Xbox Game, CD or DVD. They Don't even have to be Darksiders, you can make any disc look like it's Darksiders!
  • "It's not 'death' You should fear." - war, Darksiders
  • "Damnit, I got Blood on my boots!" - strife, Darksiders Genesis

What's peoples feeling on Tales of Arise CE. There is a lot coming up as we start to eye towards fall/winter and I really don't want to end up in a NNK2 situation...

Way over priced, they just keep raising the price of their CEs, and I still have a SE version on order with the GCU discount, so I’m passing. This isn’t available outside of the publisher’s website though, so it’s not likely to plummet like NNK2.

Mine has been charged already. I'm gonna go out on a limb and let it ship. I enjoyed what I played of the demo.

NNK2 is why I canceled mine. Pretty sure that CE went on sale for WAY less than what I paid for it.

Of course, now that I have canceled it, it'll end up being super hard to find and go for 10x the price on the aftermarket.

My feeling is if you can afford it, want it, and feel you'll deeply regret it if it sells out and you can't get it, then order it. If not, risk and wait for sale.
