• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

People were complaining about that in the playlist thread on the Forza forums last week. The mod asked them to keep the conversation on the current week and gripe when that task is live. I'm going to burn through the 100 miles setting clean lap times for accolades. Don't care so much about setting rival times, but want to clear the accolades. Set times on 4 different courses with last week's 20 mile task in the weekly, 4 point to point and 1 circuit. Should be able to knock out a decent chunk of them this week.

I drove coast to coast on the highway 10+ times with an S2 tune. Did 1/3 before dinner and the rest after. It wasn't a whole lot of fun but at least not ridiculously hard. Got some Skill points when I didn't crash into some slow moving cars/trucks. They gave out an extra 100 points (Forza points I think). Need to read the message in game to get the extra points.

I bet someone made a blue print to automate this. Thought about looking for it.

Exclusive cars are locked behind Forza Horizon weekly playlists. I was not going to bother getting every car like I did in FH4 but before I knew it I had every car in FH5 so felt obligated to keep getting the new cars. No more though.

Once I get the achievement (assuming I do) for completing a whole series I will probably do just enough to get the exclusive cars going forward.

So far I’ve only done Psychonauts 2, Gears 5, and FH5 but all the needed “updates” that were as big or bigger than my 1X copies. It’s unfortunate that the whole file needs to be downloaded. Schmucks like me with data caps need to be careful. I’m only updating Gears right now because it’s almost the end of my data cycle and I know for sure I’ll make it under the limit

Microsoft should just release an external disc drive already and promise it will work on future models. Not saying they should guarantee discs next generation, only that discs from prior systems will be compatible on future consoles.

I was disappointed as I thought "smart delivery" would actually update the games when upgrading to the Series versions, but yeah, it just redownloads the whole game again, so there's no point in moving your games over to be updated. Exceptions are the next gen aware games like Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Has anyone else noticed the sound issues in Spelunky 2?  The music and sound effects are a few beats off from the game play.  I hope they fix it in an update, but I won't hold my breath.

Has anyone else noticed the sound issues in Spelunky 2? The music and sound effects are a few beats off from the game play. I hope they fix it in an update, but I won't hold my breath.

costco b&m typically only stocks video games during the holidays so it's not unusual. last year they sold mario 3d all stars for $10 after the holidays.

I mean for $30 can't go really wrong so it's worth the pricetag. Will say though it is very tempting despite having digital gp version. Now to see if controllers still available

FWIW, I would have been happy if I had paid $60 for the Halo Infinite campaign. I liked it that much. But thankfully GamePass is just too good for my wallet.

I’ve been really enjoying the campaign too but I don’t think it is worth $60. I think $40 would have been a good price for it since the multiplayer is FTP.

I mean there’s been plenty of AAA single player games of similar length that don’t have any MP and charge $60. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was $70. Clearly Halo Infinite had a large budget so why should this be treated as a budget-priced game? It shouldn’t IMO.

I like the Campaign a lot but it's missing several features that I would consider essential for a Halo game at this point, so I won't be buying physical for a while. Co-op, an arcade scoring system for more replay value, a FireFight equivalent, theater mode, level select or any way to replay individual missions, no integration into the challenge system or playlist support like MCC. Not necessarily essential but laughably bad unlocks for multiplayer that no one is happy with. I also feel like there are a lot of half-baked ideas or "get the game finished" designs like take out these three things to progress that prop up the latter half of the game.

Comparing directly to other games gets messy, so I tend to stick with something in the general ballpark. I'd say a more 1-to-1 comparison would be something like Doom Eternal, or one of the last couple Far Cry games. Similar concepts in various ways, but generally more fully featured, polished and supported decently for the first year (even if I don't really like FC).

Halo is going to take 6 months minimum to add co-op, and they didn't even put a time frame on mission select. In that same stretch of time Doom added a bunch of features and tweaks to Campaign, a few Master Levels, and put out the first DLC.

I enjoyed the single player as well. I think the single player is as much worth $60 as other games that are released costing $60 (ratchet, like was stated)

I agree there are some features that I expected that a re missing, but what we have so far is still very good on its own

I personally don't think most, if any, games are worth $60, but if I had paid $60 for Halo Infinite, I wouldn't have felt ripped off knowing that is standard MSRP. I spent over 20 hours in the campaign and I want to replay it for speed runs etc.

I enjoyed it too, and it's certainly an improvement over 5. It's just so incomplete in comparison to even the original Halo. And with multiplayer being free already, I would have been disappointed if it wasn't on GamePass.

Probably just me but I see games as less valuable when they are added to gamepass. Especially day one. Kinda like movies that can be streamed day one and at theaters.

Maybe it’s rational though as there is less demand to buy something that can be accessed with a $1 trial.

Maybe you are all setting the bar too high with respect to the latest Halo game? It seems fine to me, but I am not a huge Halo fan.  I have never felt any series should be held to too high of a standard myself. As long as the game is fun and well made I feel that should be enough.  The more I play video games the more I realize they are not this high art that the gaming industry tries to make them. Video games are just variations on a theme of having fun while interecting with a piece of  software.  Sure you can try and elevate the medium to be more than what it is I suppose. In the end it is all about making an engaging experience that makes you want to play more. That is the ultimate testament to the quality of any video game in my opinion.

I bought 3 years of Gold for $150 with Newegg's deal the other week (I wasn't comfortable doing the vpn thing). I applied them to my account and turned on my Xbox to check for the $1 Ultimate upgrade. While the tile for $1 did show up on my Xbox, when I clicked on it, it switched to the normal $14.99 upgrade. Instead of doing that, I entered a code for one month of Game Pass Ultimate I got from Xbox Ambassadors to do the upgrade. It appears everything is still converting 1:1 and I have Ultimate until 01/15/2025

The day Microsoft ends the 1:1 conversion there's going to be a huge news story making the rounds across the web and I think everyone is going to freak. Until that happens, I think it is safe to assume that 1:1 conversion will continue to work as long as Microsoft wants to keep those Game Pass numbers up and/or they have reached the ideal number to sustain itself.

I'd agree with you on most games, but Halo people be different. They'll be back when they can do co-op Legendary and Arcade Score and Timed runs. That said how well can that be implemented into the game they made, which I really like.

Lots of reasons, here are some of the generally agreed ones. I've got more as a 20 year fan if the series, but these are the big ones. Basically the game play stuff combines to mean not fun or satisfying to play.

-core gameplay tweaks make the game feel very different. Gunplay and movement changes are love or hate, but there is a forced 4 Spartan squad at all times, and if a player gets downed they have to be picked up before bleeding out like Gears
-the single, unfun boss fight is reused literally SIX times
-Master Chief and Blue Team are borderline supporting characters. There are 3 Chief levels and 12 Locke levels.
-3 walk and talk "levels" with no combat
-generaly the game has the most linear level design, even more so than 4.
-Promethans in general aren't as fun to fight as as the classic Covenant/Banished style enemies. The addition the Soldier is a downgrade as they are overused for the annoyance level of constant teleports.
-story is generally agreed to be very bad. Heavily focused on Locke and Osiris, who have little personality outside Buck. Player character Locke being the most boring. Evil Cortana is basically universally hated as a concept and in it's implementation.

It depends on how you want to maximize GPU. 35K points are “free” but you can also redeem that for $30-40 in MS credit. If you don’t need credit to buy games or things on the MS store, then using rewards points on GPU codes make sense. If you do use credit for games, it makes less sense to “spend” $30+ on 3 months of GPU if you can convert a year of Gold for $50.

Having been on both sides of this mental equation, I don’t think there’s a “right” way to do it. Whatever works for your gaming habits and budget.
