LEGO Deals 3

You'd think with competition ramping up, and their quality getting better prices would be more competitive.
And LEGO's quality getting worse.

I wanted the flowers, then saw for $18 I can get a third party flowers. They will just sit on a vase on my self anyways.

S@H has a few sets on sale including the big Monkey Kid rocket for 104$ and the gay set for $28. (Nice to see that LEGO waited until July...)

I ended up buying the Hotel. I wish I bought it last month to get a Forestman set instead of the worst Christmas set LEGO ever made.

I’m eyeing the rocket, might get the other monkey kid set.

You think Ferrari and roller coaster are regular price with no further up charge? I’m leaning more towards that they are, but still unsure.

I'd say yes, the newer sets should be fine. However the Jurassic World sets are increasing in price so who the hell knows with LEGO.

Target has a few sets on sale. The buildable Harry and his GF is $72.
The big red Marvel robot is $35. Other one is $15. Main Street is $75. Airplane / Airport $75.
Best comment I have ever seen on Brickset.

I'm at the point in my marriage where I have to hide my toy purchases from my wife.

Bought the modular police station for the Forestmen gwp last time around, big-ass box shows up, "what's that, more toys?" Ordered the hotel this time to avoid the price hike, plus the Monkee Kid ship and Lightyear ship... shudder to think what that box is going to look like.

Not that I really want more competition, but some of you looking for a deal and also a fix for your gambling habit may want to check out r/lego_raffles if you haven't already.

Any confirmation of when the price increases go live? Hoping it's not August, or this month will be very expensive for me
Officially in Aug and Sept. Only reason we have a partial list is because BN.com and Target have already started changing the prices. Live at BN.com right now. If you can afford LEGO now buy it with double points and the little Christmas set.

My wife enabled my LEGO collection but i slowly weaned my way off
Only thing I am intent on picking up is the haunted mansion and maybe the bond and f&f speed champions sets

The price increase news is making its way to mainstream news sites now (not just LEGO or collectible related sites)
Normally I think the hyperbole is a bit much in regards to negativity of LEGO collecting but record profits last year AND increase on sets that have already been produced and in circulation is ridiculous. But my collecting days are at a sunset so it’s not gonna effect me as much as it would have years ago but I do hope this backfires spectacularly on them

New movie is coming out soon, Disney is king of merchandising. I’m sure they persuaded LEGO.
It's the 30th anniversary of the first movie next year when the set comes out. However that doesn't mean LEGO couldn't okay something else too.

increase on sets that have already been produced and in circulation is ridiculous.
Coming out and saying sets several years old need to be increased would be one thing, but increases on newly released sets are ridiculous. The worst one is the BttF set never being in stock at $170 and now will be $200. Why not just release it at $200? LEGO knew the price increases were coming. Same with the Jurassic World sets, the rumours of price increases were already out when the sets were released. This just looks real shitty.

My ex-wife used to do that...thus the ex-wife.
Smartest person here besides me. :booty:

Damn, I thought that semi-circle wave ship thing was a shoe-in.  No IP to secure, not excessively large and a pretty unique build.

Walmart has Tallneck in stock and Honey is giving $8 back in points for a few hours.

Funny, the only store with the Delorean in stock is B&N.  I bet when all the retailers update the price, they will magically get stock as well.

Wow, a $70 hike on the Scian? Yeah, fuck LEGO. Guess I won't be picking that one up to go with my Bugatti. They're going to price their consumers out of buying their products. You'd think with competition ramping up, and their quality getting better prices would be more competitive.
Zavvi just sent me an email, Lambo Sian for $330 free shipping with code LAMBO.

Vidyo kpop concert is 50% off on Amazon right now through a lightning deal.
I just ordered the set and then realized I bought it in February for $27. Opps.

The Monkey Kid Secret HQ is 30% off, still $119.

MK Cloud Jet for $42, also 30% off.

Nice … even though it’s a little kid set, couldn’t resist the pull of the “minty” rex … plus it just seems like Dino sets never drop in value.

Edit - Actually I looked at the piece count and cancelled … I can’t believe they wanted $50 for that.

I figured for a uniquely colored t-Rex the price is on point for $35. If you have no experience with the 4+ sets they all have low piece counts. The parts are generally bigger with less to assemble, I have no clue if any of the pieces can be utilized in mocs, but I’m sure some can.

I really dislike targets new system online, used to be the other way around that prices could be sometimes cheaper online vs in store.
They still often are but the filters now suck. There have been times with dozens of sets are 20% off, it says so even. But the filters won't pick it up.

With the new USA pricing most sets will need to be 30-40% off before I buy

The $120 is supposedly the inflated rate, since they left the original $100 price on a page or email or something.

If you compare it to Friends (2048 pcs, $150), and Seinfeld (1326 pcs, $80), the Office (1164 pcs, $120) actually is inflated.

But then again, it has 15 minifigs compared to 7 (Friends) and 5 (Seinfeld). So I doubt people will mind.

Thanks for the info. I can only stomach so much of Reddit but I tried looking there and missed it.

Regarding The Office set, really all I want is the sticker sheet, the phone pieces and an official Craig Robinson minifig

Brickset has the first review up of the big castle. I find it weird the wizard has zero printing. Also I HATE IT when LEGO reviewers fo 'It's costly but not over priced'. They didn't pay for the set! The set was free to them. It is overpriced because until 4 months ago it was going to be $50 cheaper.

Here's the review for some pictures.

The printed one is in the build-a-figure in store, I tried to build some but didn’t have the patience, seemed like I was getting all the wrong pieces.
