Didn't know that. Makes sense. Just was surprised it got an Xbox port when I figured it would sell more on PC, but I suppose it's harder to port with so many configurations especially with a team that small.

My desktop Steam came up and said hey read the new agreement and such. I did take a look through it and agreed. I think it has more legal mumbo jumbo to protect them from lawsuits.

What I thought was interesting that caught my eye is they explicitly are opting out of resolving disputes through arbitration and instead directing all disputes to be handled in court. That’s pretty unique these days with companies.

Anyone buy from Green Man Gaming and have the code say it is not a valid Steam key? I bought a few of the older Final Fantasy games and the two I tried both gave errors.

Edit: Error went away after I tried again in an hour or so.

I haven’t read the update yet, but I got an email summarizing it and it said they’ve removed the class action waiver, which is just… what even?

I added a few people to ubisoft today and some of them came from here, so if you got a notification that was probably me. Been playing Motorfest, and I had zero friends who had it to compare scores with. So I linked my Xbox account to Ubisoft which I had imported my Steam friends into at some point.

I like RPGs but the demos are sometimes hit and miss and long. I'll still check out some of them, but yeah I usually just get an idea if I could like the story/characters/gameplay/etc.... I'll go through the whole demo list regardless.

If you're an oddball and purchased the horribly reviewed Various Daylife on Steam, Octopath Traveller 2 is 58% off bundled, which is cheaper than XP on GMG and nearly as low as they're selling the first game for.

During the summer sale when Various Daylife was also on sale, it was cheaper to buy the bundle of the two games than just Octopath 2 on its own; thus they were in effect paying people to buy Various Daylife., which I found amusing.

Like a Dragon Ishin is nearly 75% off on Gamebillet. Don't know if I should bite or see if it comes to humble choice down the road as some other Yakuza games have.
If you’ve got one of Fanatical’s 5% off coupons, you can get it down to $15.67 there, as compared to Gamebillet’s $16.01. That said, I think Gamebillet has that point system, so that might tip things in the other direction.

Trying to figure out if I should get Persona 4 golden or P5 first. Watched a little bit of a walkthrough of each and both seem interesting. The murder mystery of 4 is very intriguing to me, but Royal is so highly praised and obviously has a bunch of QOL improvements since it's newer. Anyone want to sway me. Will be playing on Steam Deck.

It's going to be -very- hard to go back to older games if you play P5 first. They are incredibly more dated by its modern standards. I'd recommend going with vanilla P3 and P4 first, or else skipping them entirely. One or the other.

If you were likely only going to play 1-2 of the games, I'd probably recommend going with P3 Reload and then P5R. You might as well just play the new ones. The P3 remaster would be a pretty good jumping off point.

Even if the game is more dated, Persona 4 Golden is superior to Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3/Reload (not counting Personas 1 and 2 since those are not on Steam). That's the one I would recommend to start with. The cast is (mostly) fantastic, the murder mystery is genuinely interesting and the soundtrack is phenomenal.

That's not to say P3/Reload and P5R are bad, they're still amazing games I would highly recommend playing at some point. But P4 is the best of the three IMO.

I would also start with P4G. Not only is it my favorite entry, but I've played it on steam deck and recommend it as the best way to play that title.

Four Pack of Earth Defense Force 6 is on sale on Humble right now for the cost of one game, I can confirm it gives four steam keys:

Page has been removed and they are out of keys. I doubt they'll revoke anything that's been claimed but we shall see, I'll update if anything happens to me.

Edit: Got an email that they were issuing a refund for the purchase. Key hasn't been revoked as yet but we'll see what happens.

I picked up the EDF pack for a friend and I and forgot to open the last 2 steam keys. Looks like they are sold out. Even with only 2 keys, that's a solid deal for a game we've been itching to play. I'm sure the other keys will come in eventually. Seems like a big mistake on Humble's part.

It depends on the game. If the publisher or Humble doesn't want to eat the cost then they'll refund you and not let you generate the other keys, or they'll restock the keys if they do eat the cost

This happened early this year with 2 price mistakes that happened close to the same time. Agents of Mayhem sold out but keys were eventually restocked. Under Night In Birth Sys Celes sold out but keys were never restocked and the orders were cancelled/refunded (but activated keys were never revoked).

It's also possible that they can revoke keys, but I haven't seen that happen in a while. I believe that happened when they had a Call of Cthulhu price mistake

They are very different games story wise in tone and slightly different pacing. a few mechanics don't make it between them like friendship level (s link) between your characters giving bonuses (which were better in vanilla p4). Fishing is still around in 5 from 4. And iirc less rng heavy.

P4 you'll want to go in expecting a cheesy comedy with murder in the background. Do note that it's story heavy for the first 8 hours or so with not much combat to do. You don't get the first real dungeon till the second area. As the first is just a boss battle whereas 2 is multiple floors with multiple floor mid/ bosses. And each dungeon has more floors than the previous one.

P5 is sex offender teacher boss then various other villains. But the first one is the longest of the bunch. Most players dropped the game after that portion. As it's easily 20 hours plus just for that dungeon alone. For all intents and purposes the first boss could have been its own standalone game in other cases.

For both depending on play style you'll run anywhere from 65 hours to 100+. Less depending on s links you do and side quests. As s links make up the bulk of playtime due to the number of characters, schedules, locked out till x date in game (rarely ever for story purposes) stats required to rank up (this is extremely heavy in 5 compared to 3 or 4) and needing a monster from each arcana to give points when doing one. You also have to dump time into links just for pure points without a scene occurring because they can't be bothered to write one and points required for rank ups get higher without any way of lessening that. Your only bonuses from bringing matching mons and using the shrine fortune teller option give minor bumps but not enough to remove the filler segments of you spent time together then went home text.

Tldr 5 is long 4 is basically a comedy. I'd rec 4 over 5.

P3 is actually the best one, btw. Definitely a little rougher around the edges than 4, let alone 5, but it has the strongest story.

Outside of missing skill selection for fusion p3p has most of the stuff 4 did like skill cards. And of course manually control the party vs dumbest ai in vanilla and slightly less dumb in fes.

Femc route is wonderful and highly recommend to get bonds for the entire party vs just female characters in the others for the mc route.

It's a shame that they have no interest in giving the femc route to reload. At this time anyway.

It'd be nice if they do you can explore inaba from 4 when you go there as well as Kyoto and yakushima sp? Instead of not doing anything in each location gameplay wise. It would have been cool if you could use all the sites they list and possibly have a timed dungeon to go spelunking in if you want.

Heads up if you want Zero Dawn

Ugh, now I wish I'd bought it when it was $10 but I kinda expected this when they announced the upgrade price. I'm sure there will be backlash but lets face it, the backlash does nothing. Anyone remember when we were mad at Capcom? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Remastered? Could Sony just get their games to not run like crap on the Steam Deck before remastering them to be even more resource hungry? Every one of their games makes my deck a hand held white noise machine.

Looks like I kept the 2 EDF 6 keys, not sure if they'll get pulled. I got a full refund and a $10 credit. It would be awesome to luck into keeping the Steam keys. Fingers crossed!

I'm hoping for the same, though I'll certainly be holding my breath every time I log into Steam for the next week or two.

It's likely a grey market site. If things are super cheap or out of stock most places I'll use them, but I rarely do. People on reddit said they've gotten OK keys. It's your choice there.

FWIW, when my Call of Cthulhu key was revoked, they specified that all keys would be revoked in the email they sent out. In the email I received for EDF6, there was zero indication that they'll be revoked. There's still the possibility that they won't revoke, we'll just have to wait and see.
