They really are not going to have another decent game for me to pair with the Gradius Origins Collection.
I still have a few weeks to preorder but its not looking good.

Ugh... LRG might have found my new weakness. I love me some Strat guides... can't wait for them to be like $50 each and prob shipped in bubble mailers and arrived fucked up.

EDIT* didn't realize this was already up days ago and it's priced at $25, Not bad... but after shipping and taxes, becomes a lot more.

EDIT2* 108 pages, at $25 is pricey but yeah, the OG game really didn't have much to it so not surprising it's so small.

I'm sure they'll find a way to milk the guides. First, individual paperback versions. Then individual hardcover versions. Then a complete set with exclusive slipcase

Slipcase sold separately.

Shipped in a bubble mailer and crushed during delivery.

Then denied replacement because you didn't pay for the Limited Box Upgrade.

Which wasn't available because of some site glitch.

My weakness too. Hopefully they stagger the releases like they did with the Yakuza games where items overlap for a weekend so I can get 2 guides for 1 shipping price.

I'm glad I have no weakness for paper goods. When was younger and we didn't have the internet to lean on for info... sure. Give me a Player's Strategy Guide to Nintendo Games or one of Jeff Rovin's How to Win at Nintendo Games books. There were a lot of great options in print from books to magazines to dedicated guides. Now, it's just another thing to find a place for.

I only collect the guides if they have sections on development background or concept art (like you see in most Piggyback and Future Press guides). For most big releases, that means I'm better off just grabbing the eventual "Art of..." book.

Just got an email saying Limited DOOM CE Selling Fast !! Less Than 100 left.. that's kinda crazy to me considering the Cost of it .. I'm just surprised I think

There's only 666 across 4 platforms, if I'm reading that correctly, so worldwide, I'd be surprised if they couldn't sell out even at that stupid price. I wonder how many are scalpers.

Happy to see my Nintendo Switch ClockTower Rewind Collector's Edition has been shipped .. ordered on July 1st last year.. love the box art on it -

I got that one as well, surprised it actually shipped before a year... same with Animal Well CE.

I think Shantae Risky Revolution is now my oldest LRG preorder. The standard version is supposed to ship in April but guessing nobody's gotten it yet...

Nope. That's my oldest order too. Bummer.

Are all the books supposed to be sealed in plastic?? My NES Works 85-86 was sealed, but NES Works 87 wasn't.

Also, any word if they are doing other years?

Anyone know when new inventory of Lunar Remastered Collection for Switch & Ps4 will be restocked.. ? I saw today around 1p.m. est was available and I missed out again ha

Yikes, they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one.

I got an email confirmation that my order that includes Shantae RR GBA is preparing to ship. Considering the other three games in my order have shipped to people a long time ago, I guess Shantae is coming out this month. Yay!

Sure that’s just cancelled orders or payment issues. Last time Amazon sold out of a game as the sole US retailer took about a month for a restock.

I don't get it. There's no release date for the digital game anywhere from what I can tell. Could they really be done with the game and it's already shipping...? Great news if that's the case.

Yeah, the video has a bunch of new anecdotes about Josh taking advantage of his position and being a shitty boss. But I don't think it's going to really move the needle for anyone here. At this point people in niche communities like this have already made up their minds about the company. Might be the first time some people that aren't on forums regularly hear about this though.

The latter is new, but we all knew that Josh was funding his personal game collection through LRG and not even remotely being subtle about it. Unless it's a different kind of embezzling lol.
The new allegation seems to be that he was personally using the rewards from a credit card issued to the company. Which, admittedly is kind of a gray area when it comes to misappropriating funds.

The personal collection one is definitely more egregious and blatant, but put all together, I don’t trust there isn’t more stuff out there that hasn’t come to light. Basically, nothing that’s come out about Josh has lead me to believe he’s 100% ethical in how he conducts business.

Edit- oh, I posted this too soon, it actually keeps getting better. I just got to the “corporate malfeasance” chapter (timestamp about 18 min) and boy howdy. So apparently he “sold” his personal home to the company for about $250,000 directly to himself. Then he had Mighty Rabbit rent the property who then subleased to an employee. Once again, no board approval…

Edit 2- yeah, up to 30 min into the video, this is way deeper than other stuff that’s been gone over before. There’s now allegations they were undervaluing international shipments and marking them as gifts to diminish customs fees. Apparently, US Customs enforcement even investigated them at one point? This video is way more interesting than just “oh yeah, they printed more copies than they said they would”

I'm not familiar with that YouTube channel, so before I click a potentially click-bait video, does the author cite sources / show proof of the allegations?

Admittedly, the video does rely on confidential sources but the degree to which these allegations are made, if he doesn’t actually have sources for this, he’s going to absolutely be drown in defamation claims by LRG and Josh. Is it good reporting by a lesser-known YouTube channel, or complete fabrication, no way to know with 100% certainty. It is certainly presented in a more professional and organized manner than a number of “LRG Sucks” YouTube videos though.

Edit- I will say though, they cite to a number of publicly independent verifiable sources, such as public tax records, and PPP loans, for instance:

Guess what, despite them saying the pandemic helped them more than ever and hiring on 6 additional employees, they got about $390,000 in PPP loans forgiven…
