More import, there's no de minimis exception, so tariffs apply to stuff under $800 and have additional markups.

Those are still hit with 120% tariffs or $100, the higher of the two applies. This goes to 120% or $200 on June 1st.

Does anyone know what time the GameCube controller goes live tomorrow for us non-chosen?
I'd also be interested in knowing when Wireless Gamecube Controller is available.. I know it's Switch online membership holders only and 1 per account.. maybe at midnight? Guess we'll see what happens

I saw Costco’s bundle online that hasn’t gone live yet. Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundled with 12mo individual plan + expansion pack… for new subscribers only.
Maybe this has been discussed, but I’m kind of confused by that. Then again, Nintendo has been confusing the hell out of me lately. Maybe it’s just a Costco thing?

Heads up!

Hogwarts legacy is currently $18 on the eShop. Once you purchase you can buy the switch 2 version for the $10 upgrade and get both versions for $28.

Going off topic a bit but I gotta say I wish all publishers had great digital sales like Warner does. They are the one publisher that always prices their games cheaper digitally than physical which is how it should be.

Ordered the GameCube controller + a bunch of my Nintendo rewards stuff. NES hat, Splatoon bag, magnets, etc.

I think I have all of the controllers and am glad they don’t require the expansion pass to purchase.

Sitting in queue for 5 mins now on kid's account :/

Edit: Now at 35 mins. Had time to write an article for delisted games while waiting

Edit 2: Went through on my phone, which was 10 minutes in queue behind my desktop. WTF

Same thing happened to be but reverse. Got on the computer 10-15 minutes after I was in line on my phone and got through on my computer before my phone made it through. Not sure what's going on with their queue system. Glad people who want them got them, crazy seeing listings already on eBay for $200

Fortunately I was able to get my Wireless Gamecube Controller earlier around 1:45 p.m. or so.. had to update to my current mailing address, which took a little bit.. But glad I have it secured. The Ebayland sold prices are crazy.. what people actually paying for it- I wish I had gotten the SNES Controllers way back

If you have a NSO family plan (regular or expansion), each family member could get a GameCube controller under their individual Nintendo account.

I grabbed two GameCube controllers on my end as one from my account and then one under my son's account as he is in the family plan.

Can't believe it's only 3 weeks away.
Maybe it's because I'm not in school, college, or in a nerd heavy social circle currently, but I feel the hype is low.

I might be projecting my own low level of interest, but I'm talking with some game oriented pals, no one is chomping at the bit.

Outside of Nintendo subreddits, there's not a lot of buzz. People are still milling over Expedition 33, and I know reddit isn't the general population, but you would expect the niche nerds to be more hype beast about a new console.

Maybe it's because it's Switch, but better, and more expensive, that it feels like a PS5 Pro situation? That console wasn't that hype, either. It's sold well, I think, but I'm a big tech nerd and felt no urge to get one.

What's the hype in your corner of the world for Switch 2?

My 11 and 9 year old nephews are the local hype battery.
Personally I'm annoyed Nintendo has held back a modern feature like HDR for this many years. But I'm willing to buy due to backward compatibility.

Going to the pre order day and lining up at gamestop I saw just how hyped people were for this thing. I've been to gamestop to trade things in towards switch games a couple times the last couple weeks and each time there have been people asking if they are taking pre orders still for switch 2. There's definitely buzz around it in my area, but I would say the price has clearly curbed some people's excitement level and maybe even priced some people out.

Unfortunately most people I know only play stuff like CoD, Fortnite and sports games so I don't have any anecdotals to share about it lol. I'll even get confused looks from them when I mention I play Overwatch.

Once they get smash and or pokemon they'll get me to buy. that smash bundle discounted through newegg as per tradition more than likely. I've bought their bundle since I want to say the wiiu. Don't know if they did bundles prior to that.

New round of Switch 2 invites to purchase from Nintendo must be going out. I just got an email that my Switch 2 is ready to purchase. I’m not sure I’m gonna use it though because I already got one in store from GameStop now.

Thoughts?
Braggadocios posturing from a company confident of early sales from fans for hardware sight unseen.

All that means is that no one should be buying before review, IMO.

And sites getting launch units is perfectly fine. Reviews of many products utilize corporate assets. Such is life; if they are found to be pandering or misleading, they get ignored by those seeking earnest knowledge versus reinforcing ones beliefs or combatting buyer's remorse.

The big three, and even old manufacturers like Sega and Atari, get big heads after a big successful period of time. They usually end up crashing back down. Such is life.

Thoughts?
I have two:
  • oh no the poor press "journalists" who receive free games and systems. can't be "First!" every time.
  • my gosh you visit a lot of random clickbait sites.
Nintendo doesn't care about your reviews. They are confident in the level of quality they put out. Customers are too. Spoiler Alert: Mario Kart is going to be a perfect 9 or 10 from everywhere.

How many of these press ppl would even pay for their own machines?? yeah exactly.

They're still getting it, just not before launch, reason a "significant" day 1 patch. I would assume something is either broken or not as advertised without the launch patch.
I just assumed the patch will add support for the virtual cards and a few fixes. I've gotta believe that wasn't all worked out until recently.
