GS FAQ

Where is the weekly ad?
They ended the weekly ad for more rotation of deals. Please check the homepage and deal link for the current deals.

I can't find a trade in value for an item?
It might not be tradable or calling a store to find the value may be the only option.

How many copies of a game can I trade in?
You are allowed to trade in 4 copies of the same game (same system) within a rolling 30 day period.

Are there trade limits?
Yes, $500 cash minus some electronic trade ins and or $2000 trade credit in a rolling 30 day period.

Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

1769 Fairway Plaza store in TX now shows hours and no days closed, so I am not sure if that is really closing or not.

Ordered from GameStop.

Part of my ordered was delivered just now.
Got shipping notification for the rest and tracking number.

30 minutes later got email about payment declined. Need to update payment method.

Anyone dealt with this before? Will updating payment info work?
I went into my account and nothing about needing to update payment, maybe it sorted itself out?
Still see pending charge on my CC.

Got good intel that there's a B2G1 on preowned games starting June 27. Employee guessed it's early access for Pro members, and sale may begin on Saturday, June 28 for everyone else.
I'm surprised they aren't doing it for 4th of July, I think that's what they did last year. Hopefully some sale prices on games to maximize the b2g1

Finally, my $5 monthly has been itching to get spent.

It'd be real nice if "new" games were discounted on that day. We American gamers don't like the feeling of being used/pre-owned, right Gamestop?

So its flea market/tag sale season, any rumors of trade boosts coming soon? My goal is to try to earn enough to pay for a Switch 2. Lots of leg work, I know, but when I have time I'm pretty good at the hustle.
Literally the best trade deals arguably of all time happened 1 to 2 months ago. Where have you been ?

I'm going to assume my order is fine, I also got the points for the order.
I got the email to update payment method, but I can't since it''s marked as shipped.
Site doesn't mention any issues with my order.

I find there is a lot of competition looking for games at flea markets garage sales, but not everyone is looking for console accessories, keep your eyes on those trade values and you will easily have enough to get a Switch 2.
Nice tip thanks! And to the above asking "where were you?". I was working and sleeping haha. But yeah competition out there sucks but I'm not looking for older things just PS4 and last gen things.

I just checked online and it shows my pro is expiring June 15th 2025 (today), I renewed in store about 3 months ago and nobody in store has bugged me about renewing since so I gotta imagine it's showing properly at the store level... Anybody else have theirs showing online it's expiring soon who has renewed recently?

Had a similar issue several months ago after renewing where it never updated the expiration date after I renewed. It even happened in different browsers if I remember correctly.

Try manually logging out of your account, clear browser cache/refresh and then log back in. That worked for me.

That worked, yet another strange quirk of their website. Thanks!

A new marketing email advertises a GS arcade. There's no details about if it's a literal arcade, or something they're doing on their website or app. If it's a physical arcade, I guess they're hoping it'll drive more foot traffic to their stores. You can sign up to know more after clicking the email.

Yeah I suspect somebody said, “hey wait, we are blockbuster. Let’s make a Netflix”. Except they should’ve it 5 years ago along with buying Limited Run Games.

Gamestop exclusives were so annoying, it was why I never got Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, did not want to preorder and it was the only way you could get a sealed copy and even that wasn't a guarantee in 2012

Considering they have "power packs" currently for mystery packs of TCG, I see "power boxes" labeled on the boxes. Maybe some mystery boxes. Or NFTs making a comeback...

So I could be wrong

But the $25 off $250 doesn’t work with the Switch 2 or the PS5

BUT it would work with whatever SKU you add to that transaction

I bought a switch 2 and the $39.99 PS5 game I picked up along side it was discounted to $15
Hmmm... The things I bought with it were the 20% off used games. Maybeif I bought a new game, it would have worked.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is 34.99 preowned. Not the greatest price but it's the only Switch 1 game still priced reasonably. I noticed they raised everything else back $5-10 higher within the last day or 2.

So did a weekly email go out with the code for an extra 20% bump for consoles? I stopped getting emails a few months ago and wasn't sure if I'll get denied with the screenshot of the code.

Also, all that is needed for a Switch Lite trade is the Lite and the plug? And is the 20% bump in addition to the 10% pro or just an extra 10% than the usual for Pro members?

So where are all these Switch 2s at Gamestop?? Definitely not at any of my local stores...

Deputies said 2,810 Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, each valued at $499, were stolen from the truck.

According to deputies, the total amount of stolen consoles is estimated to be $1.4 million.

Deputies said the driver reported that he was on the way to a GameStop store in Grapevine, Texas, from Nintendo of America in Redmond, Washington, and the driver said he did not know what was in the truck, only that it was games or toys.
