Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

I vividly recall going into my local TRU for the last time before it permanently closed down, and my mom bought me FFIV GBA CIB brand new for $19.99. I was just a kid back then barely getting into the Final Fantasy series because of Advent Children. Had I a time machine, I would've bought the entire bargain bin...
I still have my sealed TRU clearance copy of n64 conker.

My order for super Mario RPG came from the "sale". Both are BNIB, so that's a good sign that they aren't shipping gutted games as much.
That receipt means you got it shipped from the warehouse, which is good news when buying a New game. I don't think I've ever gotten a gutted game from the warehouses (grapevine or the shuttered york/sheperdsville ones)

first sale on switch 2 courtesy of gamestop, got the bundle for $469.99 with $25 cert and monthly $5 AND a free can of red bull.
My store wouldn't Honor the 25 off 250 with Switch 2. Said the Switch 2 sku was ineligible. I asked if the games I bought with the switch 2 could get the 25 off and he redirected it and said I didn't have 250 dollars worth of games.

So I could be wrong

But the $25 off $250 doesn’t work with the Switch 2 or the PS5

BUT it would work with whatever SKU you add to that transaction

I bought a switch 2 and the $39.99 PS5 game I picked up along side it was discounted to $15

I was told before that doesn't work, that the items that equal $250+ all have to be eligible. Also when I picked up a copy of Astro Bot alongside my Switch 2, it wasn't discounted by $25. That said, it was a pre-owned copy that I bought solely because it qualified for the "20% off pre-owned software if you buy a console" promo, so maybe it possibly overrode it.

Embarrassingly, I forgot to even try my luck and ask about the $25 off $250 promo. Won't beat myself too much over it because they almost definitely would've told me no anyways, but now it'll be in the back of my mind now lol

Sounds like Nintendo has a deathgrip chockhold on their pricing if Gamestop can't even be bothered to honor the $25 off for the NSW2...would've made GS THE preferred place to shop this week leading to record sales numbers if it meant to help wittle down the tax over half the rate, any discounts really.

I find it odd that gamestop doesn’t have any switch 2s available in store but, every bestbuy, target and walmart I’ve went to in a 30 mile radius has an abundance of them. How does a company that focuses on game sales botch a launch so badly.

weird how people were using gamestop's number of consoles to show how easy a switch 2 would be to get and now that gamestop sold them all they are a failure for not getting more and selling the ones they had?

I'm also doubting his claims that his local Target, Walmart and Best Buys are flooded with them. It seems like Nintendo has mostly sold through this initial shipment everywhere.

it’s readily available at every retailer that’s near me lol. I don’t live in a big city, people don’t have money to spend on things like that out here.

I believe you, it would be a weird thing to lie about. I live in a small city (11k) but all we have is a Wal Mart with no Switch 2 consoles. I have to go to a bigger city to get to a gamestop, but Target and Walmart were all sold out there too.

I live out in the sticks the population out here is 1.2k. I think the GameStops out here only fulfilled preorders as to we had 2 GameStops close nearby. Now the closest one to me is about 15 miles out. I’m sure those ones are gonna close soon to because they’ve been robbed at gun point multiple times this past year. People suck. The guy at the GameStop I talked to mentioned bundles for pro members that are gonna come soon.

I just bought a series x off someone on fb marketplace today for $200, that’s how much people are hurting for money around here…
