I was under the impression (from other threads) that the game came preloaded on the system (meaning if you system transfer it, the game is wiped out). If that's correct I think you can get both and then system transfer from the blue to the red to move the game. I could be wrong though.

My general rule is: do I think Amazon trade-in would accept as "Like New" if I submitted it for a trade-in? If yes then I don't complain, if no then I do. Since it's for a gift I might complain, but the problem is that they're not going to magically have a pristine one for you so complaining...

In general, PC games do not go on sale as often as console games. However the B1G1 50% off that Amazon pre-Black Friday did include PC games. As noted they may have been matching a competitor who had included PC games whereas here TRU did not include PC games.

The PS3 is available at the same price but for some reason Amazon is displaying a 3rd party seller price.

I'm tempted but Ubisoft has had a pretty awful history with the PC ports of AC.

I tend to agree with this. Definitely for #1 and possibly for #4. 1. It's on you as the customer to make sure the item is the right one you want. If everything says just BD and yet the picture (which clearly on Amazon says it is uploaded by a user) is the only thing that says 3 way combo pack...

Amazon's claims process is really easy to deal with for damaged items. They basically take your word for it.

It's irrational but I feel the same way. :) I will pay a few dollars more for a physical copy than digital one just so I can put it on the shelf. I honestly wish that they would just turn the console market into the same as the PC with every game being locked with a CD key, completely killing...
