The sad thing is I actually LOVE talking to some of the employees at my local store, they're enthusiastic and knowledgeable about games. It's the online business aspect where things get messed up, with not-actually-new games being shipped out mislabeled as "new", which is dishonest and illegal...

3 of my 4 "new" games weren't new. I filled out the form on their app for customer service, stating that I would like some sort of compensation for their error. We shall see what happens.

Really wish they had Jedi Survivor for $22.50 actually in stock... Oh well, I'll keep waiting. Ended up getting: FFVII Crisis Core Reunion ($22.50) Callisto Protocol ($9) Tactics Ogre Reborn ($22.50) Wanted:Dead ($13.50) ..All new. But then since I was on the cusp of getting free shipping...

Octopath 2 for PS5 came back in stock, glad I checked back. Got Octopath 2 and Sonic Frontiers.

Worth mentioning that Gold Edition doesn't include the DLC on disc anyway, it's a voucher code. So you may as well just buy a cheap copy of the vanilla edition and then grab the DLC when it's on sale.

Can't they change the price before it ships, or do they have a preorder price guarantee like Amazon?

There's nothing complicated about it. Sony is refusing to sell the console at the original $499.99 price point. If Sony decides to stop fucking around and let me buy it, I'll buy it.

This only further confirms my suspicion that they will never sell the console by itself again, but instead are forcing a stealth price hike on the consumer.

They're even cheaper from randoms on ebay. Tons of these codes floating around from people who bought a PS5 console with a disc drive but were forced to get a digital game code with it.

Still refuse to buy a bundle that has a digital copy of a game instead of physical. Otherwise I'd consider it.
