i got the same deal at an SF bay area target (fairfield, CA). if you're not picky about country of manufacture (china), it does seem to be a fine "pro" quality adult-sized deck ("made from canadian maple")... and a ridiculously good price for a deck & a videogame, no matter how you slice it...

it's possible that you scanned the wrong barcodes. oftentimes there are two barcodes next to each other on the back of the book. one barcode is the UPC and the other is the ISBN. if you scan the ISBN barcode, it will come up as unrecognized... if you get such an error, try covering the ISBN...

that's not a matter of poor english, they're just typographical errors. PW1 had at least several typos in the later parts of the game, so i'm not very surprised to see some in PW2. the english text looks perfectly fine in the other PW2 screenshots...
