Wavebird didn't have rumble so that it could extend the battery life. I know that, personally, lack of rumble was my ONLY gripe with the Wavebird. And Nintendo uses their OWN rumble technology that is different from the tech MSoft and Sony use, so they don't pay royalties on it to anyone...
