It's probably because the PS3 version drums are not compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour. I love Rock Band 2. The drums are a lot sturdier than before and the songs are a lot more fun! I say just spend the extra $$ and get the newer bundle.

This game is feck'n hard to unlock any achievements. Fun as hell in multiplayer though.
