Final update: My controller arrived sometime after 11am today. They shipped it UPS Next Day Air. Haven't tested the controller yet but it looks to be in decent shape. The sticker in the battery compartment is damaged so I know the controller had been opened.

I did get an email that my order shipped, but there was no tracking information or even an order number in the email. My original order still shows as shipped but not picked up by the carrier.
It says "Awaiting Carrier Pickup". USPS says they are "Currently Awaiting Package".
Update: Looks like calling them was the right thing to do. They are overnighting me a replacement for free. Wish i called and complained on Monday. Note to everyone: Don't waste your time emailing Customer Support.

You won't need the Dremel. The replacement shell is cut to fit.
If they had a black or grey shell to match my existing joycons I'd grab them. I'll probably end up eventually buying the white shell and spray paint it. A heads up to everyone: NintendoLife (not advertising for them) good bad...
