I have used the recession to get over my need to collect things. I sell all of my old collectibles on eBay, including games. I have noticed the prices of everything dropping. Games are for playing, not collecting. What would you ever do with an old PS2 game in 20 years? Sell it?

Huh. I'm weird. I would say go ahead and sell it. Who cares if a bunch of Sega people signed a DOA system that nobody purchased. I might give you $50 for it as a curiosity... but then again, what the heck would I do with it? I quit collecting stuff like this, and I am selling off everything else...

Mastodon is one of those bands. I never heard them until Crack The Skye came out, and I went back to listen to older stuff like Blood Mountain. Awesome drumming and the way the two guitars intertwine is rather complex, but still easy to groove on.

It seems to vary by publisher. I have found EA does not keep the PS2 servers up anymore (MOH games) Ubisoft kept up a server for 13 (cel shaded FPS) for quite a while - it might still be up. I think the Splinter Cell online components still work. I think all of the Mortal Kombat servers are...
