If you buy the base game you'll need to shell out ~$80 to get the expansions ala cart, which are absolutely essential to enjoying the game. Just buy The Taken King Legendary Edition, which is the current version of the game for ~$35-40 and it includes all the DLC to date.

I recommend the whole series on PC instead, as I recall the PS2 version controlling like butt back in the day.

I hate to be that guy, but yeah...it actually does deserve that title. This game was awful and I do not recommend people buy it. It is sitting comfortably in at least my top 3 worst video game plots ever. It's nonsensical, illogical, and feels like a rushed attempt to meet the PS4 launch ship...

My local stores generally haven't been clearancing out sets I see posted everywhere online, which is frustrating to no end. Either the items will never go on clearance, or someone buys it the moment it DOES hit clearance for like 5% off....probably to return/rebuy when a later drop hits.
