Saw today's Fry's ads for San Diego and saw Metal Gear Solid 3 for $29.99. Thought that this was a pretty good deal for anyone still looking for a copy and for those who didn't get in on the KBtoys deal. Not sure if it's good in any other area. I didn't see it in the usual Fry's thread. But...

if you're planning on spending $50 already on pre-played merchandise then you can basically get the card for "free." without card you pay $50 with card, you get 10% off of $50 (which is $5), then you use that $5 to buy the EDGE card. so you end up paying $50, as well.

for ties, i would go to thrift shops like goodwill or whatever you have in your area. you can get a pretty decent looking tie for a few bucks, if you dont mind used ones.
