Apparently there was an earlier bug and now you can use the 3 month after the $1 upgrade. But you should definitely max on live / gamepass, do the $1 ultimate, then in 3 months load on the $20 / 3 month ultimate.

When I converted I had live out to 6/2022 and game pass to 7/2019. My game pass ultimate goes to 6/2022. For me it just dropped the extra months.

The max you get from conversion is 36 months, so out to 6/2022. Ideally you’ll have 35 or 36 months prepaid; anything else will be dropped. Some people on the slickdeals thread have said they canceled and were able to reapply the deal. It’s ymmv since it’s a risk, but some people have reported success. If you’re only losing 6 months of potential savings it might be worth it to try.

Game pass requires the May update which I don’t believe has been forced out yet or maybe had limited roll out. That update is slow! You also have to update the Xbox app to the latest beta release.

Just do the 2 year Costco deal. With your remaining time, plus one month from the $1 ultimate deal when you convert, you should be good until 6/2022.

Don’t bother. People on Twitter reporting it can’t work if you did the upgrade. Maybe it will work one year from now, but at that point you risk losing the code or forgetting about it.

That would seem to be the smartest, least painful way to do it. 35 or 36 is he magic number here so do what you need to to get to it!

My understanding is you would get 36 of ultimate, but I didn’t try it myself so not sure. I maxed my live but reports from others say game pass and live get combined.

People have mentioned in the thread. CD keys has it for 48 for a year. Costco has it for $95 for 2 years.

You’ll get one extra month. Do you have any game pass? You could try doing a gamepass trial. They usually have 3 months for $1. That will max you out when you do the conversion to ultimate for $1. Or you could just buy a month pass of gold or game pass then do the ultimate.

Xbox rewards has codes. It’s something like 1 year live for 30K, 3 months for 15K, and 1 months for 7K. I topped out my gold using those.
