Kinect - Gen. Info & Discussion

Wow, I thought it would be mathematically impossible for me to care less about Kinect. I stand corrected.

CAGcast #201: In Dreams, Furniture, but not in the Tuchas

Think positive Wombat. Maybe the Mass Effect mulitplayer will be that awesome orgy/gang rape simulator that Fox news was trying to warn us about. Maybe Cooper Lawrence was psychic. And instead of calling it the Sony Bowel Movement, I think it should be called the Sony Fuck Stick with...

Just Cause 2 - Gen. Discussion & Info

Apparently the more weapon upgrades you find throughout the world, the better and more powerful his weapons become. I haven't found enough to confirm this, though. The same goes for the vehicle parts. And there's only 450 of each to find. And the game world is only bigger than Cyrodil. This...

    Overlooked/Underrated PS2 Games?

One that everyone forgets is War of the Monsters (it's not even mentioned on that linked page), where you're one massive cheesy movie monster fighting another, and decimating a city in the process. Throwing cars and fuel trucks at each other, eating fleeing pedestrians for health, leveling...

Random Poll Time: Are you right handed or left handed?

Lefty. Oddly enough, I'm one of the only ones in my extended family. I'm also the only one that I know of with perfect vision. But I can only throw a frisbee with my right hand.

    CAGcast #191: Motion Fighters

Lately I've been playing the Just Cause 2 demo non-stop, instead of Mass Effect 2. Easily a day one purchase for me. The trick to launching yourself with the gas cans is to grapple on to the nozzle rather than the cylinder, and no, you don't have to shoot it first. Still, it's more fun to...

It took 108 years but this is finally home of the World Series champs Cubs!

Does anyone here know how trade-in prices at Video Games Then and Now in Norridge compare to Gamestop's? And will they pay in cash instead of store credit?

Making a high-end PC from a cheap one.

It's a Compaq SR5712F-B This page has all the specs: http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Compaq-Compaq-Presario-SR5712F-B-Desktop-PC-Bundle I also think I'd have to get a new hard drive, considering flotsam and jetsam this thing came with, but I assume that would mean buying Windows 7. (Here's an...

Making a high-end PC from a cheap one.

Hard to pin point right now. Let's pretend that I'm not exactly cheap, but reasonable at the very least.

Making a high-end PC from a cheap one.

Thought this might be a pertinent subject for many gamers here. I'm starting to become interested in PC gaming (since the concept of longevity seems foreign to the 360), but my current PC is a budget Compaq bought for a whopping $500, including monitor. Of course, it's loaded with bloatware...

    XBLA - Gyromancer - 11/18 - 1200 pts

I've played through the demo a couple times, and I just can't get into it. Puzzle Quest was an incredibly deep, almost table-top style, RPG with strategic games of Bejewelled replacing the typical turn-based combat. Gyromancer is basically Bejewelled Twist with a paper-thin RPG draped over it...

Dragon Age: Origins - Gen. Discussion & Info

Just a quick question. I've got enough credit at GS to get a new game and I'm leaning pretty heavily towards this one, but I've never actually played this kind of game. I was also thinking of Borderlands, but from what I hear that game's plot is rather thin, and I rarely play online, if at all...

    best skateboarding game?

You should also consider Thrasher: Skate or Destroy for the PS1. I liked that game even more than the original Tony Hawk, since it did the street skating much better than TH. It's also by EA, and definitely plays like a predecessor to the sim-style Skate games.

XBOX 360 Red Ring of Death FAQ: Soon to be known as the Red Dot of Death! :P

Does anyone know if playing games off of the hard drive helps to prevent a hardware failure? I've had my 360 since April of 2008, and let's just say it's starting to show its age. I have my systems (and TV, and speakers) set up on one of these...

Attention hockey fans - Stop what you're doing and go buy NHL 06.

Unless you're like me and you already have a copy of NHL 94 that you play almost daily and that hardly ever leaves your Genesis. But otherwise, yes I agree, buy NHL 06. NHL 94 is also my favorite sports game. So much so that I haven't bought another one since. Executing a perfectly timed...

To any who have finished Okami...

I'm currently playing Okami (and loving every second of it), but I want to know if I'll be able to back and finish the side quests and missions after I go through the main story, or if I'll have to start over again, maybe even completely from scratch. I don't think I'll mind having to start...

    Ico

I bought the game the day it was released, and I've been annoyingly smug about that fact ever since. And no, I will never part with it.

Does PS2 really look that bad on an HD set?

Yes, PS2 can look quite a bit blurry and indistinct on an HDTV, but the only time it affects gameplay is for certain First and Third person shooters, like Sniper Elite (where the point is to pick off distant enemies, who'll sometimes resemble little puffs of brown smoke), but even then it's...

Let's all laugh at PETA yet again

If you think of the fly as a metaphor for PETA, then I can fully support Obama's actions, and believe we should all follow his example.

    Windows 7 Beta Discussion

So after Win7 comes out (May 7th apparently), how long before it's pre-installed in retail PCs? I'm in the market for a new PC, and I'm curious if it's worth waiting (but doubt it).
