I hear your pain - I'd suggest get that used xbox for as low as you can (it must be the same version as yours) because sooner or later the dvd drive will also fail as well as the power supply. If you cant do the console surgery have somebody that could do it and pay attention to what that person...

Not bad since they're $169.99 + tax at BestBuy without the starter kit. Save $25.71 w/o the starter kit. Amazon has the two for $187.98 free shipping no tax. Still saves $27.98. Do you have a receipt just in case something bad happens to it?

Definitely big fun..........and corny. I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this game. Hint - go through the normal modes so that you can save up money to buy better weapons for the hard modes.
