I agree with this completely. It would have made the switch quite expensive though. It also would have increased longevity of the system too.

I did the same going from a base ps4 to a pro and still game at 1080p. Shadow of the colossus and monster hunter world look amazing on the pro even at 1080p.

Congrats, I did exactly the same, and traded in BFII minus the deluxe content code to best buy for $33 with gcu ($30 without). It still has that value at BB as of this posting. Monster Hunter World and Shadow of the Colossus play amazingly in performance mode on the pro. Also, a quick question...
